Color Club Too Violet Swatches & Review

Color Club Too Violet Swatches & ReviewColor Club Too Violet was part of a limited-edition Japanese collection. I’ve only seen it sold online, and from one etailer that only ships to the States.

This gorgeous polish was very difficult to capture because it’s so intense and there’s a lot going on.

It’s a purple scattered holo that sparkles like something fierce! Even in very poor, low lighting, the holo particles dance on your nails.

If you’re able to track this one down for a reasonable price, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my favourite purple holographic polishes to wear!

Color Club Too Violet Review

Colour

Color Club Too Violet is mostly purple with a touch of pink. I think that it’s a very subtle kind of purple – nothing bold.

What really stands out about it is that it shows pretty much every colour of the rainbow, so it’s really fun to wear.

Finish

It’s a scattered holo glitter polish.

I was expecting the finish to be really gritty, but surprisingly it was a lot smoother than I thought. It’s not as smooth as a creme polish, but it also doesn’t feel like sandpaper on your nails.

Application & Formula

Color Club Too Violet is highly pigmented. Just one coat was almost completely opaque! And the great thing about it is that the formula is very easy to control. It’s a good consistency that’s thick enough to not be runny, but it isn’t so thick that it feels like you’re painting with old glue.

Limited Edition

This polish is a limited edition colour, so you might only be able to get it from the one etailer I listed in the Key Notes section. Also, that etailer only ships to the States, so my fellow Canadians may need to check out eBay. Sorry!

Pros

  • Easy-to-wear purple polish
  • Scattered holo
  • Not as gritty as a typical glitter polish
  • Great formula
Cons

  • Limited edition that can be difficult to find in stores or even online

Final Verdict: 10/10

This colour was so beautiful that I wore it for around 6 days. It held up beautifully with minimal signs of wear, but I eventually removed it because there are lots of other untried polishes in my collection that I need to get around to wearing. 🙂

What’s your favourite holo polish? What’s the longest time that you’ve ever worn the same colour? When you repaint your nails, do you always go for a new colour, or do you ever repaint the same colour you just removed?

Edit: YAY! Color Club retweeted this post to their followers! 😀

      Hey maddy!

Now I wish that I had bought more bottles of it just so that I could share it with a lucky reader in a giveaway! If I come across this again, I’ll have to do that because readers like you are amazing and deserve a special treat.

This is gorgeouuss! Wow, released in japan and only sold online in the US? that’s pretty hard to get haha. I love that it’s so jam packed with glitter and holo! I really hope the new china glaze prismatic collection is going to look like this. Then I’m going to die from happiness *crosses fingers*

      Hey Vivian!

Haha, yeah, tell me about it! I didn’t even hear much about this collection and then just bought this one on a whim. It’s one of those polishes that you see in the bottle and just know it’ll be magical on your nails.

I’m totally looking forward to that collection, too! *Crosses fingers and eyes* Hope it’s a winner!

man, I hate it that other countries get limited editions. what a gorgeous color tho! will definitely be stalking that website… so sparkly!

think that my fave holo is Glitter Gal Purple… so hard to choose just one. have never repainted the same color, tho I’ve thought about it. haha! to many pretty colors to pick from. I’ve worn the same color for for maybe 5 days? had this top coat
that I can’t find any more, made cheap polish wear like iron!

      Hey suzanne!

Yeah, it can be really frustrating when you see something so beautiful, but the only thing (and big thing) that’s stopping you from getting it is where you live. It would be nice if beautiful colours were more accessible to everyone!

As for Glitter Gal Purple – ooooohhh! Lucky you! That’s gorgeous! I don’t have any Glitter Gal polishes, but have been extremely tempted to purchase a few because they have a lot of unique shades (especially holos).

Do you remember the name of the top coat? Maybe I can help you find it.

Huh! I’ve never heard of this color or even seen it before! It’s very pretty and sparkly. I wish it was available to everyone and not limited edition. I’m sure it would be very a popular color. You can’t go wrong with holographic glitter.

      Hey Melissa!

Definitely hear you on wishing colours like this were more accessible. They’d make tons more money and more people would be happy to own a bottle of it. Win-win!

Maybe one day they’ll release a dupe that’ll be available worldwide. We can only hope!

Hi… remember me? It has been eons since I left my little comment mark on your awesome blog!
This lovely holo purple was THE post that made me put the kids in front of the TV so I can leave a comment (no worries… only 30 min of TV) 😉
Your nails literally look 3D. This looks incredible on you! And what a great feeling to own a hard-to-find polish. I appreciate you sharing this shade with us today! 😀

      Hey Marta!

Of course I remember you! You’re only one of the the most awesome people on the planet! 🙂 People like that make a big impression, and you couldn’t forget them ever.

Okay, I’m glad that it was only 30 minutes of TV…hehe! 😉 Glad that you loved this colour so much. It’s way better in person! For some reason, taking photographs of super sparkly polishes always comes out blurry for me because my hand shakes a bit.

If you have any camera-setting tips (other than using a tripod…haha, because I don’t like using those), I’m all ears…well, I also have nails, too. 😉

No, YOU’RE awesome! (Hehe, let’s fight about who’s more awesome. It’s fun! :P)

Thanks! I’m curious to hear his professional advice.

      Hey Katie!

The pigment for holographic polishes must be verrrry expensive because I’m sure polish companies would want to capitalize on its popularity, so there has to be something holding them back.

YES, Glitter Gal polishes are divine from what I’ve seen online. Maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to own a bottle! 🙂

This is so gorgeous. I love the look of glitter polishes but they are such a pain to remove. I usually soak it off but it’s still so much more work than a good old creme polish. Still, some things are worth the extra work…like this polish!

      Hey lacquerloon!

Haha, yes, if you do the ‘crime’, then you have to do the time, usually. 😉

Surprisingly, though, this particular polish wasn’t quite as bad to remove as typical glitter polishes. Still, it wasn’t as easy to remove as a creme polish. It might have had to do with the fact that I only needed to use 2 layers and also because the polish itself wasn’t too gritty. (I feel like the grittier the polish feels, usually that means it’ll be even harder to get off because it really adheres to your nails.)

    It’s gorgeous, isn’t it?
I fell in love with this one, and bought the other three of the collection, and meh! Not one of those gets close to this holo beauty.
Oh, and BTW, your nails look very looooong, healthy and beautiful! xoxo

Oh, sorry to hear that the other three didn’t wow you. But at least this one was a stunner and you have it in your collection! 🙂

Thank you sooooo much for saying that about my nails!

      Hey Amy!

It’s even prettier in person, too. For some reason overly sparkly polishes are hard for me to capture accurately with any camera. All the little pieces reflect like crazy and really dance maniacally on your nails!

I’ve never owned any color club but oh my goodness. This will most definitely be the first addition to my collection. I love purple and this is a purple on steroids for sure!

      Hey imfeelingnail-venturous!

Hehe, the wish list for a nail-polish collector keeps getting longer and longer. 🙂 You know, even if I never get all the colours on my wish list, it’s still fun to have that list and remember all the cool polishes that are available. Plus, it helps me keep my eye out for possible dupes, too.

I love the pretty medium purple tone to this polish. Is it a full on glitter like the holiday glitters they came out with last year? For the longest time my absolute favorite holo was Color Club Worth the Risque but it has since been de-throned by A England Tristam. I try to use a different color that I haven’t worn yet to go through my untried stash when I change my mani but if I love a color a lot, I have been known to use it at least twice in a row (hello, Branding Iron). 😀

      Hey Carmela!

I haven’t worn the holiday glitters – only saw them in the bottles. Too Violet is very pigmented and it was easier to remove than a regular glitter polish (but you still had to put in some effort, of course). It really is chock-full of glitter pieces, and it sparkles like crazy all the time!

Yay – so you did end up buying some A England polishes! I still haven’t gotten any, although the newest colours look really tempting.
