Smorgasbord Sundays: Keurig B60 Special Edition Coffee Maker

Keurig B60 Special Edition Coffee MachineFor those who follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may know that recently, I got a Keurig B60 Special Edition Coffee Maker. (You can make hot tea, iced tea, and hot chocolate with it, too.)

I don’t drink a ton of coffee, but there are some mornings when I want that extra ‘kick’. Plus the weather is getting nippy (as my dad used to say), so having a hot beverage on my way to work is not only comforting, but it keeps me from feeling like a human popsicle.

When a department store had a major friends and family sale, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. (In fact, I had been looking for a coffee machine for a while before I made the purchase, so I already knew the exact model I wanted and was just waiting for the best discount.)

Smorgasbord Sundays: Garage Clothing & Black Friday Deals

Rainbow Tiger Shirt Garage ClothingDid you do any Black Friday shopping? What were the best deals you scored?

The only Black Friday shopping I did was online and for Garage Clothing! (I really didn’t feel like hitting up the mall after a full work day.)

Garage is one of my favourite clothing companies not only because they’re Canadian (they started in Montreal), but also because they offer a lot of casual attire that fits my body.

You can always find fun prints and designs at extremely affordable price points. But they do carry staples like basic solid t-shirts and tank tops, too.

I really hope that one day Garage Clothing will start carrying dress clothes, too, like blazers and trousers. Then it will be my all-around go-to clothing store!

For a few days, they had a special online offer for 40% off sitewide and just $1 shipping! It’d be criminal if I didn’t get something, right? (Right!) 😉

In this post, I’ll show you a few of the things I snatched up. And if you like anything, just so you know, they’re having a new sale for 30% off sitewide and $1 shipping. It’s valid until Monday November 26 at 6 am (Eastern)!

(No, I’m not affiliated with Garage yet, but I’ve been purchasing clothing and accessories from them for probably 7 years or more, so I should be!) 😉

Edit: For my American readers, please note that the same offer is running on the US site, which you can find here.

Smorgasbord Sundays & Haul of Shame: My IMATS Toronto 2012 Haul

IMATS Toronto Haul 2012Yesterday, I went to IMATS Toronto 2012 (the Internation Makeup Artist Trade Show).

Ever since IMATS was held in Canada, I’ve been going because it’s a great place to find good beauty deals, and you can attend seminars to learn new tips and tricks from successful makeup artists.

Okay, I’m not a makeup artist, but you can still pick up interesting tidbits that apply to the average woman. 🙂 (Well, I don’t think the average woman is average. The ‘average woman’ is incredible, smart, and beautiful. We are going to take over the world!)

At last year’s IMATS, you’ll remember that I was extremely frugal. Looks like I overcompensated this year! 😉 (You can click here to see my highly detailed blog post from last year. I basically walked you through the whole event and took photos of almost everything!)

Come take a closer look at the stuff I got yesterday, and check out some of the photos I took.

Smorgasbord Sundays: Owl Lunch Bag

Owl BagIf you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen a few photos of my new Owl Lunch Bag.

But I’d like to show you more detailed photos because, well, I just think this little guy’s pretty cute.

The insulated lunch bag is actually supposed to be for children, but I don’t care – I’m going to use it to bring my lunch or snacks to work! (It puts a smile on this big kid’s face to know that I’ll be bringing along a little owl with me to work!) 🙂

This was purchased from a Chapters/Indigo bookstore. (Yesterday, after having dinner with a friend and not making it to see Wreck-It Ralph like we originally planned, we decided to do some window shopping. Well, so much for window shopping!)

You know what? Sometimes I like browsing the children’s book section for fun because you can often find very creative, comical, and clever ways of presenting information that you’ll be hard-pressed to find in adult books. (Haha, well, not ‘adult books’, but books for adults. You know what I mean!) 😉

For instance, there was a funny book with open-up flaps. Children were asked to ‘find the poop’. Yes, you read that right. In each scene, there was one flap that revealed a pile of poop! The first few pages were set in nature, but finally, the last one showed a toilet with a flap. Sure enough, there was poop floating in the toilet…haha! But the funniest part was the end. The flap was a door. When you opened it, there was a kid on the toilet telling you to close the door because the kid was pooping! Haha…yeah, I read the whole book in the store.

Smorgasbord Sundays: What Movies Have You Seen or Do You Want to See?

Wreck-It-Ralph-Movie-TrailerHave you seen any good movies lately? They don’t have to be in the theatre. Maybe you saw it on DVD or TV.

It’s been a while since I was really excited to go see a movie. The last one I saw in the theatre was The Dark Knight Rises…and I fell asleep several times to the point where I couldn’t tell you even the basic plot!

Haha, no, it wasn’t boring at all, but my friends and I went to see the latest show after going out for dinner and drinks. Plus I had a tiring day at work, and the previous night, I went to bed wayyyy past the witching hour. (I should have bags under my eyes that go down to my knees…Pretty sight.)

I only remember pieces of it here and there. (For part of it, I literally held my eyes open with my fingers because I was so upset that I was missing an epic movie. My antics were like something out of a Mr. Bean episode! However, I failed and nodded off several times. Nature won.)

Okay, so aside from wanting to stay awake through the entire The Dark Knight Rises, I really want to see Wreck-It Ralph, a Disney animation feature film!

Smorgasbord Sundays: Neon Pink Yarn & The Cowl I Made

Neon Pink Yarn Indie Hand Dyed Merino Wool Yarn smallerOkay, don’t worry – even though a couple of my latest Smorgasbord Sundays posts have been focused on knitting, they won’t always be.

I’ve just been really obsessed with it lately. (Haha, maybe I should start a separate blog all about knitting! 😛 Swatch And Learn is a very appropriate name, though…)

Today, I would like to show you neon pink yarn I bought from Etsy and the chunky cable cowl I made.

Smorgasbord Sundays: My Knitting Addiction Continues

Clover Takumi Interchangeable Circular Knitting Needles Takumi Combo SetRecently, I’ve been going berserk, knitting as much as I can. You’ll remember that not long ago, I finished knitting a mustard beanie and started a pom-pom blanket for my baby niece.

After the successful hat attempt, I went yarn crazy and bought tons of different colours to make a slew of other beanies!

In today’s Smorgasbord Sundays post, I’ll show you photos of my completed purple beanie. (Hehe, I’ve already started a green one, and soon I’ll be making a blinding neon-pink one using hand-dyed merino wool I purchased from Etsy.)

Also, my amazing interchangeable bamboo knitting needle kit came in the mail! I’m so excited about it, and of course I have to show you. It’s literally my dream knitting-needle set. (Haha, that sounds nerdy, but whatever…I stand by that statement!) 😉

P.S. I’ve included a “Knitting” section in the “Categories” menu because it just dawned on me that nobody will be able to find those posts unless they dig and digggg!
