Bath & Body Works Tropical Sorbet Float Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap Review & Pictures

Bath-Body-Works-Tropical-Sorbet-Float-Hand-Soap-Review-PicturesBefore summer’s officially over, I had to review the Bath & Body Works Tropical Sorbet Float Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap. *Gasps for air* Long name!

(This was one of the soaps that I mentioned in my Haul of Shame post not long ago.)

I haven’t heard much about this scent, so imagine my surprise when I randomly sniffed this one and was smitten!

It’s always great to have pleasant surprises like this. Haha, unfortunately, I usually have bad luck and smell things in that store that make my nose crinkle.

My nose is filing a case against me as I type this. 😉

FingerPaints Guggen I’m Lime Swatches & Review

FingerPaints-Guggen-I'm-Lime-Swatches-ReviewIt’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan of green nail polish. Perhaps I was abducted by little green men who also had little green nails. 😉

The latest green lacquer I wore was FingerPaints Guggen I’m Lime, which I got free when I renewed my Sally Beauty Supply membership. They sent me a coupon, and that was even more of an incentive to renew.

You haven’t seen many reviews or swatches of FingerPaints nail polishes on here because I think I only have one other bottle (also a green – surprise, surprise). So I was pretty excited to add another FingerPaints polish to my collection.

Urban Decay Rockstar Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

Urban-Decay-Rockstar-Eyeshadow-Swatches-ReviewI’m ecstatic to bring you this review on the Urban Decay Rockstar Eyeshadow because it’s my first Urban Decay eye shadow that I’ve ever worn.

Ever since I got into the brand and used their eye liners (which I love), I’ve been wanting to try their eye shadows because they have so many wonderful shades available.

However, I have an allergy to a certain ingredient (bismuth oxychloride), and it’s in a lot of popular eye shadows. My eyes will get all puffy, red, and itchy. (I learned it the hard way when I was in high school and experimented with my first CoverGirl and Revlon eye shadows.) So I was pretty bummed when I noticed that all Urban Decay shadows seemed to have that ingredient as well.

But, don’t cry for me, Argentina! I was able to find lots of great shadows that I can wear by NYX, Marcelle, and even some Kat von D ones!

Then Urban Decay reformulated a lot of their eye shadows. I checked the ingredients, and lots of them now don’t have bismuth oxychloride! Sooo…since I already loved using the 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Rockstar, it was a no-brainer that I’d want to get the eye shadow in the same shade. 🙂 (I practically rushed out to Sephora one evening after work to get this and was beaming the entire time.)

Nail Art Tutorial: Pink & Blue Leopard Nails

Pink-Blue-Leopard-Nails-Nail-Art-SwatchesWhen you don’t have the patience to do intricate nail art that requires a lot of concentration and supplies, these Pink & Blue Leopard Nails are a great choice!

The messier the spots and outlines are, the better it looks, in my opinion. Also, you don’t need many polishes or tools to achieve this look. (That’s always a plus!)

And for those of you who don’t have any Konad or other nail stamping image plates with the leopard design, this post is to show you that you can still get the look by doing it freehand. 🙂 Try to be resourceful, and you may surprise yourself with the designs you can come up with. (I actually like the imperfections that freehand designs often have. They’re almost like your signature on each manicure in a way.)

Since I couldn’t decide whether to use blue or pink as the base colour, I thought…heck, why not just use them both? There aren’t any hard and fast rules when it comes to nail art. Just do what works for you and what pleases you.

For this look, you can see that I alternated between pink and blue. You might want to do something else…maybe a different base colour on each nail? (That would be cool to have a rainbow leopard design!)

Orly Rock-It Swatches & Review

Orly-Rock-It-Swatches-ReviewOrly Rock-It from the Mineral FX Collection is like the lady in red who heats up the dance floor as she kicks up her heels and does the salsa!

Better get the extinguisher and the hot greased-up fire fighters from those calendars handy because your nails will be on fire with this one! Hot damn!

Although I don’t wear red nail polish as often as other colours, when I do reach for one, it’s either a bright creme or something blingtastic like this magenta-leaning red.

Do you remember what the last red nail polish you wore was?

Yankee Candle Pumpkin Patch Candle Review & Pictures

Yankee-Candle-Pumpkin-Patch-Candle-Review-PicturesToday I’m really excited to write about the Yankee Candle Pumpkin Patch Candle! This is actually my very first Yankee Candle, so I was pumped like Arnold to try it.

Nearly all of my candle reviews are on Slatkin & Co. ones from Bath & Body Works, so this is a welcomed change of pace. And perhaps this will make my candle addiction even worse. (Hehe, like I need that!) 😉

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to my friend, Carmela of Polished Indulgence. She sent me this (along with a sweet card and caramel goodies) as a pleasant surprise that made my day!

Wow, can you believe that Hallowe’en will be here before we know it? I’m looking forward to it – it’s my favourite holiday of the year.

Zoya Toni Swatches & Review

Zoya-Toni-Swatches-ReviewIf you were a kid growing up on the 1980s like me, you’ll probably remember Saturday morning cartoons and how awesome they were.

You’ll also probably remember The California Raisins commercial and the brief “After These Messages” snippets.

Oh, those were the days! *She says while her rocking chair squeaks*

Zoya Toni from the NYFW 2012 Collection reminds me of The California Raisins. No, it doesn’t sing or dance…but maybe if I keep looking at it late at night, it will start to. 😉

(And don’t tell any of the Raisins about this polish because they’ll get scared. After all, the bottle is basically their Raisin ‘blood’.)
