OPI I Knead Sour-Dough Swatches & Review

OPI I Knead Sour-Dough Swatches & ReviewWell, it looks like I’m on the homestretch when it comes to reviewing the nail polishes in the OPI San Francisco Collection! After this post onĀ OPI I Knead Sour-Dough, I have just have 3 more to go.

Actually, I’ve already worn them all, but it’s now just a matter of cropping and uploading photos and preparing posts. šŸ™‚ I’ll try to have them up ASAP. Really want to show you prior to the official August 7 release!

OPI I Knead Sour-Dough is like no other polish that I own. Okay, so I don’t have too many neutrals in my collection, but even so, I haven’t seen too many that look like this.

China Glaze Keepin’ It Teal Swatches & Review

China Glaze Keepin' It Teal Swatches & ReviewSo it looks like I’m on a roll! Here’s yet another review on a China Glaze Sunsational Collection nail polish!

Oh yeah – I had such high hopes forĀ China Glaze Keepin’ It TealĀ (and maybe it’s because I’m pretty much a sucker for anything that’s aqua, teal, blue, or green).

Maybe it’s because this colour tends to flatter so many different skin tones. It’s bright, but not too crazy to make some people shy away from it.

China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts Swatches & Review

China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts Swatches & ReviewAccording to the press release, the description said thatĀ China Glaze You Drive Me CoconutsĀ from the Sunsational Collection was a ‘panic causing purple jelly’.

Well, my heart rate was beating steady, so rest assured that I was okay. šŸ˜‰

I would describe this shade as more of a fuchsia pink with hints of purple instead of a straight-up purple jelly. And I do feel that China Glaze’s promo picture of this shade was more accurate than the text.

Putting aside that inaccuracy, this was one of my favourite colours from the Jellies half in the collection because it’s bold and because I don’t have as many shades like this compared to bright corals or bright bubblegum pinks. Continue reading

China Glaze Shell-o Swatches & Review

China Glaze Shell-o Swatches & ReviewThis coral-pink jelly had me at ‘Shell-o”! šŸ˜‰ (I just couldn’t resist making that pun.)

China Glaze Shell-oĀ is from the Sunsational Collection that’s divided into 2 halves: Cremes and Jellies.

It seems that I bust out coral more when the weather heats up. It’s just one of those shades that makes me think of throwing frisbees, racing against the sun to finish a meltingĀ Popsicle, and having fun picnics.

Even though this looks nothing like a watermelon, for some strange reason, this is the colour I have in my head every single time I eat any candy that’s watermelon-flavoured.

China Glaze Heat Index Swatches & ReviewI’ve already reviewed all the cremes in theĀ China Glaze Sunsational Collection. (Oh yeah, I was smitten by that half, so I bought all 6 polishes!)

Today I have for youĀ China Glaze Heat Index, which is a hot pink jelly that’s especially great for when the mercury drops!

a-england Sleeping Palace Swatches & Review

A-England Sleeping Palace Swatches & ReviewIn nail-polish circles, you’ve undoubtedly heard about the amazing nail-polish brand called a-england. If you haven’t, start Googling because every nailphile needs to know about them!

For a long time, I’ve been wanting to try out an a-england nail polish because I saw so many beautiful swatches and unique colours. But I was trying to be ‘good’. *Pushes horns back into head*

Then, out of the blue, NailPolishCanadaĀ reached out to me, saying that a-england sent them a few Burne-Jones Dream sets and that NailPolishCanadaĀ could pick which bloggers to send it to for review. They chose me as one of the few lucky bloggers! (Ooohh, I was the Chosen One! Now thoughts of Toy Story and those little green-men toys in the arcade are coming to mind.)

What an honour, I have to say! And it came at the perfect time, too, because I had an a-england itch that I’ve been dying to scratch.

So, ta-da,Ā a-england Sleeping PalaceĀ from the Burne-Jones Dream Collection is my very first a-england polish!

Was it everything I expected? There’s only one way to find out! šŸ˜‰

China Glaze Highlight of My Summer Swatches & Review

China Glaze Highlight of My Summer Swatches & ReviewWhenever I think of ‘neon’, highlighter pinks and yellows usually spring to mind first.

ButĀ China Glaze Highlight of My SummerĀ from the creme half of the Sunsational Collection has me rethinking how I define ‘neon’.

When I first looked at the bottle, China Glaze Highlight of My Summer just looked like a fun minty green. But the second I started painting my nails with it, it took on a life of its own.

It popped so much against my skin tone (even in dim light and in the shade) that it must be a neon. I’ve worn other mint greens, but I can’t think of many that were quite this bright on me.

I was torn when writing this post whether or not to call it a neon, but I decided that I can’t just call it bright. On me, it became a neon. Maybe if your skin tone is different, it might not pop as much (or may pop more). All I know is that, even though it wasn’t a lime green (which is what companies typically put out for a neon green), it still seemed to ‘glow’. (It was much brighter on me in person than what I could capture in my photos.)

P.S.Ā As of this review, I’ve now finished reviewing all 6 shades in the creme half of the Sunsational Collection. Stay tuned because I will also be reviewing the 6 jellies in the other half soon!
