Recently, I was contacted by Nicole by OPI’s PR team and invited to participate in a nail-art challenge.
Using only 2 shades, Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights and Nicole by OPI Spring Break, me and a few other bloggers were asked to create a summer manicure.
I already had the 2 colours from the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez Collection, so I took the challenge. 🙂 (It’s the first nail competition I’ve ever entered!)

Here’s the simple look that I came up with. I’m calling this freehand snake nail art It’sss Sssummer! 😉
I think it’s an appropriate summer manicure because it’s bright, quirky, happy, and fun – characteristics that I associate with the season. It also serves as a reminder to make the most of warm weather…before it slithers away! 😉
Also, I chose to make my snake polite – it kept its tongue inside, thank you very much! Hehe!

Zoya Beatrix is from the PixieDust Summer Collection that features the amazing textured finish that I can’t seem to get enough of.
Combine the cool gritty texture with a fun, summery shade that reminds me of an orange popsicle, and you’ve clearly got a warm-weather winner here!
I’m a big fan of Zoya nail polish because they always put out a wide range of shades. It never seems like they’re afraid to experiment with colour. As a result, they come out with collections where there’s truly something for everyone.

OPI Muir Muir on the Wall is a vampy,shimmery plum nail polish from the San Francisco Collection (Fall/Winter) that officially launches on August 7.
This is one of the must-haves in the collection because it’s really sexy and edgy.
It’s perfect for the cooler months or when you want to add some drama to your tips!
Sooooo, guess what? It looks like I’ll be achieving my goal of reviewing all the nail polishes in the OPI San Francisco Collection before the release! I just have one more to go, and then I will have showed you all 15 shades!
So, China Glaze Isle See You Later was the Problem Child of the Sunsational Collection.
I wanted to love it like a sailor coming back to see his family after being away for years. But, the only tears shed were sad ones, unfortunately.
Out of all the nail polishes in the collection (as of today, I’ve finished reviewing all of them!), this was by far the sheerest one. In my swatches, I used 4 medium coats, and I could easily see visible nail line!
But, if you want to see the silver lining to this cloud, it’s super shiny, and you can use it for glitter-sandwich manicures. The sheerness would allow the glitter to peek through just the right amount. Or, you could layer it over a similar blue to increase opacity.
Now, I’m usually comfortable wearing manicures that still have some Visible Nail Line. But even for me, China Glaze Isle See You Later showed too much. Does that make me a polish prude? Hehe! 😉

Today, I have another China Glaze Sunsational Collection shade from the Jellies half – it’s China Glaze Are You Jelly?.
I feel like I don’t wear vivid purples as much as I used to when I first started collection nail polish back in 2008.
I love the pop it provides against my skin tone, and while it’s definitely not a neon, it’s a gorgeous medium purple that makes me think of summer. So, well done, China Glaze! 🙂

If the Evil Queen in Snow White had OPI In the Cable Car-Pool Lane from the San Francisco Collection (out on August 7), maybe she wouldn’t be saying, “Mirror, Mirror on the wall!” She’d be staring at her reflection on her nails! 😉
Yup, OPI In the Cable Car-Pool Lane is a very shiny nail polish, even without a top coat!
Although it’s summer, and most of you are digging the bright shades for the season, here I am showing you a colour from a fall/winter collection.
