OPI Do You Lilac It SwatchesOPI Do You Lilac It? is one of those rare colors that does absolutely nothing for me in the bottle. But then I put it on my nails, and wow!

Even though it’s a soft hue, it still packs a big punch against my skintone somehow. And depending on the light, it looks a little different to me.

In sunlight, it looks like a springy pastel purple, but in dim artificial light, it takes on a purple-grayish appearance that’s in a similar vein as OPI Parlez-Vous OPI?, which is another favorite of mine.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie SwatchesThere are some polishes you must own even if the price makes you cringe. For a nail-polish addict like myself, Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie was one.

I’ve always been into nail lacquer, but it wasn’t until I found an OPI nail polish that precisely matched one of my Coach purses that I really dove off the high board and into the deep end.

Soon after, I did lots of research online for nail-polish swatches. Of course I came across Scrangie’s blog, which I consider the first of its kind.

Her blog is a nail resource I turned to often, and even to this day, I’m a frequent visitor because of her great photography and reviews that always have personality.

So, you see, while Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie turned out to be a great color, I also wanted it in my collection for sentimental reasons. But there was one thing about it that didn’t impress me. Want to know what it is?

OPI Glow Up Already! fits the bill because it’s so blingy. This glitter polish may look like your standard green, but when you take a closer look at your nails, you’ll see that it’s more complex and unique than that.

What I like about it is that you can use it as a top coat (like what I did here), or you can apply more than one coat to achieve greater opacity. This is a versatile polish that wakes up any boring creme polish with just enough razzle dazzle! Continue reading →

Milani 3D Review & Swatches

Usually I don’t like wearing gold nail polish because it picks up the yellow undertone in my skin. However, Milani 3D is a rich gold color that I think looks great. It’s not super yellow, and it doesn’t have a deep brown hue to it.

While I like the base gold shade, I’m thoroughly disappointed with the Milani 3D nail color. I feel like Milani may have made a mistake and included this color in the wrong collection! It doesn’t look like it belongs in the 3D Holographic set at all, as those two terms wouldn’t be what I’d use to describe this. Continue reading →

I’ve had such joy swatching and wearing the first three colors I tried from the 3D Holographic collection. So I was super excited to wear Milani HD. It looks to be a fun silver with mega holo effect – how can that ever go wrong?

However, the Milani HD 3D nail color disappoints me so! I love the formula and how easy it is to apply, but the aesthetic outcome doesn’t come anywhere near the other colors in this collection. Sigh! It is by far my least favorite from this set because it lacks that wow factor that I’ve come to expect from the 3D Holographic collection. Find out what I mean. Continue reading →

OPI Who the Shrek Are You SwatchesSome people see a cute puppy and want to take it home. Others check out a hot guy at the bar and want to take him home. I see green nail polish and just have to have it!

But sometimes I’m let down. Such was the case with OPI Who the Shrek Are You? from the Shrek Forever After Collection.

The snot-green color wasn’t what put me off as you might think. In fact, I actually dig the color because it reminds me of spring and I can’t wait until winter’s over.

Find out why I was so disappointed in this color, and why it doesn’t live up to OPI standards.

Milani Hi-Res Review & Swatches

Holy smokes! Milani Hi-Res is the 3rd color I’m trying from the 3D Holographic Collection, and it is by far my absolute favorite. The purple is pretty, the holo effect is gorgeous, and the shine is irresistible.

While the base purple color isn’t a shade that I’m normally attracted to, I’m in love with Milani Hi Res. The rainbow holo works so beautifully with the fairytale purple – it’s just the perfect combo for a dreamy look! Come check out just exactly what I mean. Continue reading →
