Zoya Yasmeen Swatches & Review

Zoya Yasmeen Swatches & ReviewAfter wearing the neon skittle manicure, a contrast was needed. Zoya Yasmeen fit the bill with a seductive rich purple full of intoxicating shimmer.

I’ve had this beauty in my stash for years, and it’s fine time that I showed it off. This is a pretty hue that’s a staple for any purple polish lover!

Zoya Yasmeen is vampy, which may make you think more of the fall and winter. But I tend to wear whatever colour I want regardless of the season, and this certainly filled the void for a dark hue that I was craving so badly. 🙂

KleanColor Chunky Holo Clover Swatches & Review (Layered Over China Glaze Gaga For Green)

KleanColor Chunky Holo Clover Swatches & ReviewKleanColor Chunky Holo Clover layered over China Glaze Gaga For Green was the manicure I wore for St. Patrick’s Day.

Haha, as if I needed a reason to wear green nail polish, right? 😉 I’m pretty festive all year long!

I enjoyed wearing KleanColor Chunky Holo Clover, but out of all the other colours in the Chunky Holo Collection, this surprisingly wasn’t ranked near the top of my list.

What do you think of it? And what would you layer underneath it?

Nail Art: Neon Ombre/Skittle Manicure Swatches & Review

Neon Ombre Swatches & ReviewA few days ago, I reached for my trusty bottle of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. (It’s one of my all-time favourite polishes, and I’ve worn it over 10 times.)

After removing that manicure, I was still in the mood for a neon, but I couldn’t decide on one to wear. So what did I do? I decided to wear 4 of them at once in a Neon Ombre/Skittle Manicure!

All of these colours come from the China Glaze Poolside Collection. I’ve worn 5 of the colours from this collection and have blogged about 3 of them.

I’ve seen ombre and skittle nail art everywhere, and I’ve always wanted to try it. Finally I joined the bandwagon! 😉

In person, these colours are as bright as highlighter markers! They scream summer to me, and I’m still wearing it because I can’t bring myself to remove it yet.

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed Swatches & Review (Layered Over Illamasqua Stance)

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed Swatches & ReviewThe minute I heard about Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed, I knew that it had to be mine.

That badass name, the fact that it was green with flakies, and learning that it was a layering polish were all signs that pointed to a Mary Must Buy! 😉

My first instinct was to layer Toxic Seaweed over a green, but since I was already wearing a fuchsia violet, Illamasqua Stance, I became curious to discover how it would transform an already-beautiful polish.

To my wild delight, the berry shade took on a blue tone, which allowed the green sparkles and red flakies to punctuate the manicure brilliantly. I think it even has a little bit of a galaxy-nails personality.

What do you think?

Illamasqua Stance Swatches & Review

Illamasqua Stance Swatches & ReviewIllamasqua Stance is the colour that I was hoping Misa Girls’ Night Out would be. It’s a lively fuchsia violet that reminds me of the summer.

And how appropriate considering that lately, it feels like Mother Nature gave us summer weather right when winter ended. (Thanks!) 😀

Stance comes from the Illamasqua Human Fundamentalism Spring Summer 2012 Collection that I previous blogged about not long ago.

This is a fun colour to wear, but the reason why I love it so much is because the formula is pure perfection! With minimal effort, you get a great manicure with tons of shine.

Butter London Wallis Swatches & Review

Butter London Wallis Swatches & ReviewI’ve been showing a lot of Butter London nail polishes lately, haven’t I? 🙂 I’m on a ‘buttered’ roll! *Groans* (Sorry, but I had to make that cheesy joke…It was way too difficult to resist.)

Today, I bring you the final one I own – Butter London Wallis! (Yes, I only own 3 Butter London nail polishes, believe it or not!)

It’s actually the very first Butter London nail polish I owned. From the moment I saw swatches of it crop up online, I knew that it had to be mine, and it certainly didn’t disappoint me when I wore it. 😀

P.S. Every time I wear Wallis, I think about this one guy, Walid, who I used to work with at my part-time job when I was in high school. My co-workers gave him the nickname ‘Wally’, but, since I wanted to be different, I called him ‘Walrus’. Haha, he didn’t have a snaggle tooth, but I thought it was funny and cute. Don’t worry – he didn’t have any objections, and later he confessed that he warmed up to ‘Walrus’ and considered it endearing. 🙂

Butter London Bossy Boots Swatches & Review

Butter London Bossy Boots Swatches & ReviewSometimes I feel like I’m the only one who isn’t into tea. Sure, I’m a big fan of iced tea, but any other kind of tea just doesn’t do a thing for me.

I’ll sometimes drink lemon and honey tea when my throat’s sore. If I go to a Chinese restaurant, I’ll drink Oolong tea. And, once, I tried strawberry tea. (It smelled more incredible than it tasted.)

Despite trying all sorts of tea, I’ve never found one that made me want to drink it more (except iced tea).

All of this sounds pretty random, but what got me going off on a tangent is that Butter London Bossy Boots from the Spring Summer 2012 Collection immediately made me think of green-tea ice cream. (Ever try it? I’m not a fan of the flavour. Big surprise, right? :P)

Butter London Bossy Boots is an interesting pale green that I like, but it isn’t love. I think it would look better on a different skin tone – either richer or lighter. What do you think?
