Bundle Monster Create Your Own Collection Review & Pictures

Bundle Monster Create Your Own Collection ReviewCalling all nail-art enthusiasts! You’re going to love the Bundle Monster Create Your Own Collection of nail-stamping image plates!

A while back, Bundle Monster held a contest, asking nailphiles to submit their design ideas for new nail plates.

For the new collection, they chose all fan-created images, which I think is pretty cool. (Companies that value the opinions of their customers and fans get a big thumbs up from me, and Bundle Monster always seems to take feedback well!)

In today’s post, I’ll show you all 26 plates in the Bundle Monster Create Your Own Collection, and I’ll share with you my thoughts on each.

Then, in future posts, I’ll show you some nail art I come up with using the images from these plates – stay tuned!

Nail Art: Dotticure Using the 3 Nail Polishes in the OPI Miss Universe 2013 Collection

Dotticure OPI Miss Universe 2013 Collection Nails Nail ArtThere are 3 limited-edition shades from the OPI Miss Universe 2013 Collection, and when I took one glance at them, I knew I’d have to wear them together in some playful nail art.

Since I was strapped for time, I decided to whip out my trusty double-ended dotting tool to create this quick and simple look.

Using a dotting tool is as fun as popping bubble wrap, and since I hadn’t created a dotticure in a long time, it was fine time!

In this post, I’ll show you more photos of my Dotticure Using the OPI Miss Universe 2013 Collection.

What kind of nail looks would you create using the 3 shades (OPI This Gown Needs a Crown, OPI I’m Feeling Sashy, and OPI Miss You-niverse)?

Nail Art Tutorial: Prom Nails

Prom Nails Nail Art TutorialBack in high school, a large group of my friends and I rented a limo and went to the prom together.

It was a night that I still look back on and smile about because, as corny as it sounds, my experience was like that out of a teen movie. I was really living in the moment, enjoying every second of it!

I got my hair done, did my own makeup, and wore a blue/purple duochrome dress that had a corset top with a large layered, tulle, Cinderella-style bottom. Yes, I felt like a princess!

Interesting thing: Before I went shopping for my prom dress, I actually drew a colourful sketch of my dream prom gown. The very first place I went shopping at with my best friend, I struck gold. Literally, I found a dress that matched my drawing exactly, and it was hung on a hanger that was close to the ceiling of the store! (That never happens, so I knew it was destined to come home with me.) I half expected to see angels floating down and playing harps when I caught sight of it! My dad bought me the gown for my birthday (which was an atypical splurge), and I was ecstatic!

I danced spastic in my crazy high heels that night, slow-danced with the guys, took some photos, and felt so pampered in general. Up until that point, I had never been to such an elegant venue or treated to such attentive service from waiters! It really added to the magical experience, and being able to share it all with close friends made it even more amazing!

It was really amazing to see how great the guys looked! I couldn’t believe how they passed as gentlemen. A guy in a suit or tuxedo instantly makes you forget that just days ago, he was in the school hallway cracking jokes about flatulence! Haha!

Recently, Nicole by OPI teamed up with Prom Canada and invited me to participate in an exclusive nail challenge, which you’ll remember me blogging about yesterday.

(You can still VOTE FOR ME, by going to that Facebook link and clicking “Like” on my manicure photo! Please vote and help me to spread the word! Thank you so much!)

We were asked to choose 3 shades from a pre-selected list of Nicole by OPI nail polishes. I chose Nicole by OPI Dream Maker (shimmery pink), Nicole by OPI Please Red-cycle (creme red), and Nicole by OPI Candy is Dandy (textured pink glitter).

I came up with a look that features a prom couple and some hearts.

Come see my Prom Nail Art Tutorial with step-by-step written instructions and photos to show you how you can achieve the same look!

(If you try it out, please share your manicure with me. I’d love to see your creativity at work!)

Nail Art: Chalkboard Nails or Back to School Nails

Chalkboard Nails Nail Art Back to SchoolI always feel the excitement when September rolls around, so this time, I decided to try my hand at my first ever Chalkboard Nails (or Back to School Nails)!

Ever since I first laid eyes on the Bundle Monster Holiday Collection Nail Stamping Image Plates, I knew I had to use BM-H23 for chalkboard nail art.

Although I smudged the design, and not all the white lines are crisp, I still fell in love with this look. To me, it really does look like chalk on a board. (And remember my philosophy? Happiness is more important than perfection!) Plus how can you not smile when you see globes, the Einstein’s Theory of Relativity (E=mc²), a glass beaker, and a mathematical equation on your nails? 😉

(Check out my photos of my thumb. You’ll be able to see more of the design. I have small fingers, so the entire design didn’t show up on the other 4 nails. But, the good news is that you get enough of the pattern showing up well!)

The green base is the lovely Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle, the white polish is Konad Special Nail Polish White, and to give the entire design that authentic chalkboard feel, I finished off the look with the OPI Matte Top Coat.

It’s been several years since I graduated from university with my Psychology Honours B.A., but I still get mistaken for being a student. (It’s always funny when I tell people my age, and I witness the look of surprise creep up on their face.)

For all of you who are going back to school today, I hope that the day goes smoothly and that you have a great time with your friends (and that you meet new kindred spirits)!

Although studying isn’t as fun as nail polish, put in the effort and try your best to do well. Your education is important, and even if it seems very stressful, stick to it. All your hardships and experiences in school really do help to shape you and prepare you for life later on, not just with book smarts.

Enjoy working on your projects, doing presentations for class, checking out the cutie who sits 2 desks in front of you, and getting involved with extracurricular activities to keep you well-rounded.

Blog News: Please Vote for My Snake Nail Art in This Nail Challenge

Summer Snake Nails Nail Art VOTE FOR ME

Edit: Apparently you can still vote ON July 19th! I just saw on Nicole by OPI’s Facebook page that voting is still accepted on that day.

As some of you already know, I entered a nail-art challenge! I was invited by Nicole by OPI’s PR team.

The challenge? Using only Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights and Nicole by OPI Spring Break from the Selena Gomez Collection, I was asked to create the “Perfect Summer Manicure”.

I came up with the Snake Nail Art, which I blogged about a couple of days ago. Check out my blog post to see the full step-by-step tutorial as well as my explanation for why I think it’s an appropriate summer manicure.

The winner will receive a $75 prize pack as well as a special feature on the website!

I think it’s an appropriate summer manicure because it’s bright, quirky, happy, and fun – characteristics that I associate with the season. It also serves as a reminder to make the most of warm weather…before it slithers away! 😉

Please Vote for Me! (Here’s How)

  • Step 1: Go to this Facebook link. http://ow.ly/mT2Tz
  • Step 2: Click on “Like” to vote for my snake nail art

Please help me spread the word about the nail-art challenge!

I really appreciate your support, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Nail Art Tutorial: Snake Nails

Snake Nails Nail Art Tutorial & PhotosHello, dear Ssswatch And Learn readersss!

Recently, I was contacted by Nicole by OPI’s PR team and invited to participate in a nail-art challenge.

Using only 2 shades, Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights and Nicole by OPI Spring Break, me and a few other bloggers were asked to create a summer manicure.

I already had the 2 colours from the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez Collection, so I took the challenge. 🙂 (It’s the first nail competition I’ve ever entered!)

The winner will receive a prize pack as well as a featured spot on the website! The public will vote on their favourites to crown the winner. (When I get the link to the voting page, I’ll be sure to let you all know!) Edit: See the link below to vote now!

Here’s the simple look that I came up with. I’m calling this freehand snake nail art It’sss Sssummer! 😉

I think it’s an appropriate summer manicure because it’s bright, quirky, happy, and fun – characteristics that I associate with the season. It also serves as a reminder to make the most of warm weather…before it slithers away! 😉

Also, I chose to make my snake polite – it kept its tongue inside, thank you very much! Hehe!

It’s a spin-off of my freehand Loch Ness Monster nail art that I did back in 2011.

Edit: Please VOTE FOR ME in this Nicole by OPI Canada Blogger Challenge before July 19, 2013! (Thank you!)

STEP 1: Go to this link. http://ow.ly/mT2Tz
