Sometimes when I burn a scented candle, I feel like a modern-day Pavlov is experimenting on me because instead of salivating to the sound of a bell, I’m drooling over yummy fragrances.
From the first sniff, I fell in love with the Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Candle
It’s uncharacteristic for me because I usually don’t go crazy for artificial-watermelon scents. But this one hooked me!

Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Candle Review
Fragrance
The Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade candle is fruity as the name out suggest, and it’s one of those scents that’s bright and happy. It doesn’t feel heavy, so it’s perfect for the warmer months.
Although, to me, it doesn’t smell like real watermelons, I enjoy it a lot because it’s not straight-up artificial watermelon. It’s a ripe watermelon with a touch of lemon and some sweetness. (But even if you don’t like sweet scents, you may still like this since it isn’t a cloying type of sweetness.)
Normally, artificial watermelon gives me a headache, but there’s something light about this one. It doesn’t have that negative effect on my sensitive snout.
I find this fragrance to be very refreshing!
Scent Throw
The cold wax already has a nice scent throw, but when you burn it, you get to enjoy a richer version.
I’d say that the Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Candle has a light to medium scent throw, which is what I prefer for this fragrance.
It works well in small rooms and small living rooms.
Burning
I’m pleased to report that the Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Candle burned cleanly – i.e. the wax burned evenly without any tunnelling. This is great because it means there are less chances of any wasted wax.
Seasonal Availability
Unfortunately, this is a summer scent, so it’s only available now. Actually, it’s on its way out because the fall fragrances have already taken over. However, you may be able to find a few on clearance in stores. If not, let’s just cross our fingers, toes, and eyes that it comes back next year!

Final Verdict: 8/10
The Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Candle is very different than the sugary scents I’m used to. (Generally, I like myself and my home to smell like cupcakes, cake batter, vanilla, and really immature, edible desserts!) That being said, in the fall, I dig my pumpkin scents. (YAY – I’m very excited about autumn! It’s my favourite season.)
This one is a fruity scent that isn’t over-the-top. It’s approved by the Baby Bear in Goldilocks because it’s just right! 😉
Which scented candles have you been burning? Do you collect candles? If you could design your own eau de parfum, what would it smell like?
ooooh I have this candle in my room and I’m afraid to burn it because it smells way too awesome D:
Hey Lawren!
Haha, it’ll make you want to drink it – so yummy-smelling!
I had this candle, but it’s now long gone since I burned it as soon as I got it. That’s okay though, I’m anxious to get to Bath and Body Works for their fall scents anyway :).
Hey Tanya!
Have you picked up any of the new pumpkin scents?
I haven’t yet, but I’m really looking forward to Blueberry Pumpkin Patch, Pumpkin Caramel Latte and Pumpkin Pecan Waffles.
They all sound scrumptious, don’t they? 😉
It has to smell good, I need candles
Hey Icequeen81!

Hey Veni!
It’s such a great, summery scent. I wish you could smell it, too!
