Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body LotionIf you’ve been around the Swatch And Learn blog for a while, you should know that I’m completely taken with the Holiday Traditions scent, Vanilla Bean Noel by Bath & Body Works.

My tired wallet lost more weight when I purchased back-ups of the scary collection I originally posted back in early November.

Although it looks like I won’t be able to write about each and every product before Christmas, I’m determined to eventually finish reviewing them all.

Today, I’ll be reviewing the Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion!

Key Notes

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion Review

I can’t talk about the Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion without saying how delicious and yummy it smells. One whiff is pure heaven with its combination of vanilla, caramel, cotton candy, sugar cookies, cake batter, and marshmallows. It lays heavier on the creamy caramel and vanilla notes, so if you love sweet scents, this will knock your fuzzy socks off!

This lotion absorbs fast and leaves a nice, light scent on your skin. It’s not obnoxious…very subtle. If you’re into bold fragrances that announce your presence, this may be a pass for you.

The Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion has a thin-medium consistency and comes in this really fun very mint-green cream.

When you first rub it into your hands, it feels light and gives your skin a little moisture. But don’t rely on this to quench parched skin – this is more of an everyday light moisturizer. It won’t help desert-dry patches.

If I put too much on, I notice that the cream takes forever to absorb fully, so make sure you only use a small dollop for best results. And although Bath & Body Works claims this formula is non-greasy, I disagree. While it does absorb, I can still feel a slight residue (that eventually goes away after a while). It’s this ‘residue’ that makes the back of my hands feel silky but slightly greasy.

Although I wanted to really love the Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion because so many others have nothing but positive things to say about it, I just like it. It does a mediocre job at moisturizing and maintaining skin that’s already in good condition, and it leaves behind a nice fragrance. It’s not a bad product, but it’s also not one that completely blows me away, either. It walks the line like Johnny Cash.

Now onto the bottle design – the slightly curved shape is aesthetically pleasing, and I appreciate the ridges on the sides that help me get a better grip. The scalloped-edged label is cute and features snowflakes, a Christmas tree, and a little house.

I’m not a fan of the flip-up cap that you have to press one side down to open. Sometimes you have to apply a lot of force, and at the opening, it can get clogged with dried lotion unless you wipe it after each use (which I do).

    Pros

  • Yummy scent with notes of vanilla, caramel, cotton candy, sugar cookies, cake batter & marshmallows
  • Not tested on animals
  • Affordable
  • Lightly fragrances skin
    Cons

  • Limited-edition fragrance available only around Christmas
  • Provides mediocre moisturizing
  • Leaves a ‘residue’ that is slightly greasy
  • Flip-up cap can get clogged

Final Verdict: 7/10

Although the scent makes me giddy, I’m not overly impressed with the Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion because it does a mediocre job at moisturizing. This product is best used for layering purposes in conjunction with the Shower Gel (hands down the star of the collection) and the Fragrance Mist to enhance the scent and improve its scent longevity.

Have you smelled this and/or the other Bath & Body Works Holiday Traditions scents (Snowkissed Berry, Winter Candy Apple and Twisted Peppermint)? Which reminds you of the holidays the most?
