Bath & Body Works Berry Vanilla Fragrance Mist Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Berry Vanilla Fragrance MistThe Bath & Body Works Berry Vanilla Fragrance Mist was the first Bath & Body Works product I ever bought.

A couple of my co-workers were raving about this scent so often, it was beginning to sound like a drug addiction. And I gave into peer pressure. So I ran around the back of the office building away from onlookers and sprayed myself with this.

Funny thing. Despite me having a strong aversion to the Berry Vanilla scent from the Summer Vanillas Collection, I still managed to get hooked onto Bath & Body Works in general. What can I say? I believe in second chances.

How good a scent smells is totally subjective as you know, so even though I really dislike it, you may be over the moon for it.

Think the Bath And Body Works Berry Vanilla body splash is for you? Let me describe it, and you be the judge.

Bath & Body Works Berry Vanilla Fragrance Mist Review

Scent

Usually I enjoy sweet, girly, vanilla fragrances, but I couldn’t stand the Bath and Body Works Berry Vanilla Fragrance Mist for more than a few seconds. This is probably because I like scents that have notes of caramel, cotton candy, or another comforting, creamy complementary smell.

According to the Bath & Body Works website, these are all the notes (even though I can’t detect most of them):

  • Top Notes: Wild Summer Blueberry, Meyer Lemon, Juicy Bergamot
  • Middle Notes: Blackberry Extract, Ambrette Seed, Watery Cyclamen, Beach Peony
  • Base Notes: Madagascar Vanilla Cream, Raspberry Sugar, Buttercream Musk

Upon spraying the body splash, you immediately smell alcohol, which is typical of Bath & Body Works fragrance mists.

When it dries, you get a sharp overload of a generic berry blend. I think there’s a mix of raspberry and strawberry, and it’s the synthetic kind. There’s also a hint of vanilla, but the berry truly is the standout in this fragrance.

At first it’s quite pleasant, refreshing, and very summery. It seems great for those warm days. But (and here’s the big but), after a short while, the sharpness of the berries gives me a piercing headache. (Because of this, I deducted 4 points from the Final Verdict score.)

Lasting Power

While it may be a Pro for those who can stand the scent, the ridiculously long-lasting scent of the Bath & Body Works Berry Vanilla Fragrance Mist is a major Con for me. It lasted a nauseating 4 hours on me without softening into something more tolerable. And during those 4 hours, the scent didn’t seem to evolve much – it stayed on cruise control to my dismay.

If the fragrance doesn’t give you a headache and you like stronger berry scents, you’re just going to love this one. It’s a lot more potent than other Bath & Body Works fragrance mists I’ve tried.

Packaging

The  shapely spray bottle looks really elegant, and I like how it’s clear and simple. The liquid’s pink, which is a cute girly touch.

Sometimes the Bath and Body Works Berry Vanilla spray gets stuck or drips, which is pretty annoying.

The size is a little bit too big to just throw in your purse, unless you’re one of those women who carries an over-sized handbag.

    Pros

  • Inexpensive
  • Leaves skin fragranced
  • Smells mostly of berry & some vanilla
    Cons

  • Strong fragrance for a body splash (can be a Pro, but it’s a Con for me because it gave me a headache)

Final Verdict: 6/10

This sharp, strong berry-vanilla fragrance is like summer in a bottle. Too bad that it literally makes me sick. If you have better tolerance for bold scents, this may be great for you. But for me, this baby’s just collecting dust on my dresser until I figure out how to layer another fragrance over this to make it wearable.

Do you like wearing body splashes? Or are you more into longer-lasting eau de parfums?

      Hey AIDA!

Sorry, I don’t speak Spanish. Do you speak English? I’d be more than happy to reply to your comment if you can translate it into English. 🙂
