Eyeshadow palettes are my absolute weakness. There. Now you know my Kryptonite. Wave a palette of pretty shadows in front of me, and you can bet that I’d get weak in the knees. I just love looking at my palettes in the morning, with my mind spinning as to what kind of color combinations to create.

So how could I ever pass up the chance to purchase Urban Decay Book of Shadows III? I had to visit my local Sephoras a few times when it first hit the shelves before I found it in-stock and waiting for me to take home.

Urban Decay Book of Shadows III is one of those shadow collections that get a lot of attention very quickly. But the big question is: does it live up to all the hype? Continue reading

Let me just get this out of the way: I’m not a pixie, I’m not a pin-up, and I do not have wings of any sort. But I absolutely love Too Faced Enchanted Glamourland. And if you’re into sparkles, shimmers and pretty colors, I think you will like this palette, too!

I’m usually not a fan of fairytale designs, but something about the Too Faced Enchanted Glamourland palette just called out to me. What’s great is that it has shades for soft looks, as well as darker and richer colors for bolder looks. This makeup set has everything you need to bring out the Pixie Pin-up in you. Everyday Minerals SoCo Blush Review & Swatches

Blush? I never thought I needed it. Until… My parents kept asking me if I was sick every time they saw me because I looked pale and had no healthy coloring. (Thanks, Mom. Thanks, Dad.) Needless to say, that was when I started looking into blushes.

Which is why I was so excited when I got the Everyday Minerals SoCo Blush! It was created to “celebrate the gorgeous women of Austin.” But no worries. You don’t have to live there to enjoy this shade. It has a femininely pink tone to it, but it’s not girly at all – I think women of all ages (living anywhere) can pull off this color. e.l.f. Essentials Defining Eye Brush Review (e.l.f. Professional Defining Eye Brush)

Jack of all trades, master of none – that’s exactly how I would describe the e.l.f. Essentials Defining Eye Brush (formerly e.l.f. Professional Defining Eye Brush).

It tackles multiple tasks for applying eye makeup, so it’s good if you don’t want to clutter your vanity with many brushes. However, I already own other brushes that do the tasks that this one is designed for…only better. So I hardly use this at all! Continue reading

NYX Slim Eye Pencil Sapphire Review & Swatches

Eyeliner – I never leave home without wearing it. My eyes look tired if I don’t! That’s why I’ve made it a mission to build a wide collection of pencils, liquids and lining shadows to match whichever mood I’m in.

One of the colors I frequently turn to for lining my eyes is blue. I think it’s soooo pretty against brown eyes. So when I saw NYX Slim Eye Pencil Sapphire as I was raiding the booth during IMATS, yes, I grabbed it immediately. I’m so glad I did because it’s such a lovely shade! Continue reading

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Mysterious Review & Swatches

Do you ever wonder how e.l.f. Cosmetics sells their stuff so cheap? I mean, even if it’s not as good quality as other brands, how can they afford it!

I’ve tried many of their brushes and filtered the good eggs from the rotten ones. And now onto their eyeshadows. I took advantage of a 50% mineral sale and got e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Mysterious – it looks like a fun purple-y, lilac-y color on the site. So how does it really fare? Continue reading
