Milani Luminous Blush Review & Swatches

Milani Luminous Blush** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I’m about to disclose something that might have you conclude that I’m ultra weird. *Deep breath*

Every time I use the Milani Luminous Blush, I feel like Sailor Moon. Hear me out! The little compact has a golden rim with a pink center…like the one Sailor Moon had. And there’s a button at the bottom edge that you press to flip the lid open – you can totally do it with one hand like Sailor Moon did.

Wow. I’ve just entered into the TMI territory. Back to the product review. I’m the type who prefers not-over-pigmented blushes because I like a subtle flush instead of bam-wow color on my cheeks. That’s why I like the Milani Luminous Blush. Although it’s not the best that I own…despite it making me feel like a cartoon superhero. Come see exactly what I think of it. Continue reading

e.l.f. Essentials Nail Polish Teal Blue Review & Swatches

I’ve reviewed a lot of elf products – from shadows to blushes to brushes – and honestly, I only have mediocre expectations whenever I try new stuff from them. I certainly did not think I would like elf nail polishes as much as I do. And I reallllly, realllly like them. On today’s nail stage is e.l.f. Essentials Nail Polish Teal Blue.

Look. At. That. Color. It’s gorgeous, baby! I’m so happy with it – it’s both vibrant and cool, and I’ve got mad googly eyes for it! But the color is not all that I love about. Come see what else! Continue reading

When I first saw the L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base, I laughed. “Secrets?” “Magic?” C’mon! With words like that in the name, this product is setting itself up for failure… Right?

Or so I thought. I saw it on sale for almost 50% off at the drugstore, and I couldn’t resist picking it up. It’s no miracle product by any means, but I am now a believer in this magical secret. It’s a quick and easy step in my makeup routine that makes me feel better about my skin. Come see exactly why. Continue reading

Milani Runway Eyes Shadow Shamrock Review & Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

Call me a one-trick pony if you want, but here I am with another green eyeshadow. (I’m not afraid to admit that I might have a slight addiction.) Today’s green star is Milani Runway Eyes Shadow Shamrock. It’s a dark leafy green with a sprinkle of sparkles. Sounds beautiful, right?

Well, I can’t say I’m absolutely in love with it, and it’s not my go-to green. But the shimmery finish makes it a pretty shadow to have in your collection. It fits nicely into mine, at least. Come see what I like and don’t like about Milani Shamrock! Continue reading

NYX Jungle Swatches & Review

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I’ve been avoiding wearing NYX Jungle for quite some time now. I tried it a while back but wasn’t feeling it after I applied one coat. I even brought it to use at a frankening party Mary and I had because I didn’t care much for it.

But I actually like the color more than I thought I would. Even still, I have a love-hate relationship with it. It’s a blue-green shade that can look gorgeous and blah depending on the light. You have to see it to really know what I mean. (BTW, happy Valentine’s Day!) Continue reading

The Body Shop Satsuma Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer Review & Pictures

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

Many thanks to the person who invented waterless hand sanitizers. While these do not replace soap and hot water, they make me feel better about the cleanliness of my hands…and I especially love them when they are scented.

Today, I bring you a review of The Body Shop Satsuma Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer. The Body Shop only has 6 scents for their anti-bacs (compare that to hundreds from Bath & Body Works!), and I think the Satsuma one is the best-smelling! But the fragrance aside, is it a good buy? Continue reading

NYX Eyeshadow Base White Review & Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

Before I begin, I’d like to mention that NYX Eyeshadow Base White is not a primer. It is a base. What’s the difference? Both prepare the eye but for different purposes.

A primer smoothes out the lid’s surface and protects the shadow from any oil your skin naturally produces. The result is your eye makeup stays on longer without creasing. A base’s main goal is to intensify your makeup’s color. Some primers also act as bases; some bases act as primers.

Even though NYX White Eyeshadow Base claims to help your makeup last longer, it doesn’t. That’s why I want to make it clear that it’s a base, not a primer. Find out more. Continue reading
