Eyeliner is my single most important makeup product. So of course when I heard that Almay has one that contrasts your eye color to make it pop, I had to try it. And what’s even better is the color that’s recommended for my brown eyes is Purple Amethyst! Can’t go wrong with purple.
If it’s based solely on the product, there are probably other eyeliners that I would choose. But this purple wins me over every time. It’s such a pretty purple that I am willing to overlook the one big flaw I find of the Almay intense i-color eyeliner.

The Review
True to its name, the Almay intense eyeliner does offer a punch of color. I think it really brings out the brown in my eyes, but even if it didn’t, I still love this shade. It has this fun pearlescent finish over the vibrant purple. I’ve gotten many compliments on it. 😛
I also like the consistency of the formula. The Almay i-color eyeliner glides on my lids quite smoothly so I don’t have to tug and pull – big no-nos when it comes to the sensitive skin area near your eyes! You can also easily go from a light color to a super-intense shade, depending on how much you put on.
And the tip shape and width are good too. You’re in complete control of how thick of a line you want. It’s not too sharp at all, but there’s a built-in sharpener at the end if you want to adjust the tip.
I’ve tried many mechanical pencils before, and what happens? The eyeliner lead gets sticky on my eyelid causing it to pull out from the tube. I’ve actually broken many pencils that way. (Is it just me?) This has yet to happen with the Almay eyeliner, and I’ve used it for months! Bonus points.
Now onto what I don’t like about the eyeliner. It melts onto your lower lash line. It’s not terrible, only very slightly. But the skin on my eyelids is generally dry, so those with oily skin might find that the color fades and smudges very quickly.

Final Verdict: 8.5/10
I love that this collection customizes shades for different eye colors. And Almay definitely delivers on this note. But if you really want this eyeliner to last, try putting on primer or even foundation on your lids first. It might give you a few more hours of wear.
Have you tried this collection for your specific eye color? Or were you rebellious and chose an eyeliner that wasn’t designed for your eye shade…but still loved it? Do tell.
