Pretty Serious Cute Cuticles Cupcake Cuticle Oil Review

Cuticle Oil for Dry CuticlesWhen the mercury drops and the air gets chilly, my cuticles tend to feel and look parched. It also doesn’t help matters any that after washing my hands, I don’t usually slather on lotion regularly.

I purchased the Pretty Serious Cute Cuticles Cupcake Cuticle Oil many months ago to help me through those (literally) rough times. 😉

Perhaps my inner child is showing, but I mainly was attracted specifically to this Pretty Serious cuticle oil because it promised to not only nourish cuticles, but it also is supposed to smell like cupcakes. Hehe, if that isn’t a reason to try a new cuticle oil, I don’t know what is!

Pretty Serious Cute Cuticles Cupcake Cuticle Oil Review

Efficacy

No matter how good it may smell, when it comes down to it, a great cuticle oil needs to perform well.

I’ve been using it for months, but not on a daily basis. I use it after I paint my nails, which is typically every few days, although sometimes I change up my polish more often.

Using the brush, I paint around my cuticles first. Then, I rub it in with my fingers. At this point, it looks really greasy, but when I leave it on for several minutes, it absorbs and feels very comfortable.

Whenever I use this cuticle oil, I notice that the skin around my nails looks much healthier and less parched. And if I were to use it consistently on a daily basis, I can see how it would be wonderful long-term.

Consistency

Just as you would imagine, it has an light and oily consistency. Because of this, you only need a little bit, and it goes a long way to do a great job!

Fragrance

Okay, this is where the fun part of this cuticle oil comes into play.

Bring on the cupcakes!

It is, after all, one of the main reasons why I wanted to try this Pretty Serious cuticle oil in the first place.

I have a sweet tooth, and apparently I now can complement that with sweet cuticles! Hehe!

Each time I use this oil, I always end up craving sweet treats. But, does it smell exactly like vanilla cupcakes? Not spot on, but it’s close. It’s still so good that it makes me happy when I use it.

If you’re not into thick and extremely sweet fragrances, then this won’t be up your alley. However, if you tend to like gourmand scents and something that’s youthful and fun, you should try this! (Hehe, it’s more enjoyable than slathering on olive oil, even if in principle, you don’t necessarily ‘need’ a scented oil. The fragrance just makes it a joy to use. You may even start looking forward to applying it!)

Ingredients & Animal-Friendliness

All Pretty Serious nail products are free of Formaldehyde, DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde Resin. Also, they are vegan and cruelty-free.

Pros

  • Smells like delicious vanilla cupcakes
  • Hydrates cuticles quickly
  • No Formaldehyde, DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde Resin
  • Vegan & cruelty-free

Cons

  • If you don’t like to (or can’t) shop online, getting hold of Pretty Serious nail polishes can be a tricky feat.

Final Verdict: 9/10

I have never been attached to any cuticle oil before, but this one, I love so much because of the way it smells, and it works great. It’s light and hydrates well!

If you’re in the market to try a new cuticle oil that has a fun scent and that supports an awesome Australian indie nail-polish brand, this is the one to snatch up!

By the way, Pretty Serious also has other scented cuticle oils: Peach Danish, Sweet Lemonade, and Tropicana are among some of them. Also, they have a heavier-duty spa-quality cuticle oil, if this light one isn’t strong enough for you.

How do you take care of your cuticles? Do you prefer cuticle oil or a cuticle lotion? Do you moisturize your cuticles all year long, or do you take better care of them during the colder months?

You can never have too much cuticle oil. The fact that this smells like cupcakes only reinforces my need to have more cuticle oil. LOL Thanks for sharing. I’m going to look into ordering a bottle of this asap.
