Designed by Hannah of Polly Polish, Pretty Serious Iktusarpok is the last in the second trio of the Stop! Collaborate, And Listen Collection that I’ve reviewed on here. (But it’s certainly not least!)
It takes a lot for a grey nail polish to stand out to me because I don’t explore that colour territory as much as some others.
You know that my penchant for greens and bold shades tends to take over. However, I’m not afraid of venturing out of my comfort zone. Oftentimes that’s when magic happens.
Pretty Serious Iktsuarpok is definitely out of my comfort zone, but I like it because unlike many greys, this one seems to flatter my skin tone. Also, the glass-fleck flakes add that ‘something extra’ that breathe life into the polish.
Iktsuarpok is a word I just learned because of this nail polish! Iktsuarpok describes that feeling you get when you anticipate to see if someone is coming, and you keep looking outside.
As someone who is passionate about language and the written word, adding to my vocabulary made my day!

Pretty Serious Iktsuarpok Review
Colour
Yes, it’s almost summer here in Canada, but when I look at Iktsuarpok by Pretty Serious, my mind wanders to wintertime (in a good way). No, I don’t care for the frigid temperature, but I can appreciate the beauty of snow, especially when the sunlight hits it just right.
Pretty Serious Iktsuarpok reminds me of when light, fluffy snow hits the pavement, and it’s cold enough that the sun doesn’t melt it. It twinkles, and the light makes it look like it’s dancing to the notes of magic.
That being said, it’s not a seasonal polish that you’d only pull out in the winter. I can see this being a staple for grey lovers any time of year because it has a softness while still managing to appear edgy and far from flat.
Finish
There are lots of glass-fleck flakes throughout, which are suspended in a creamy jelly finish. However, they don’t create much texture. It’s not sharp or scratchy, but, of course, when you apply your favourite top coat, everything can easily be smoothed out to a glass-like finish.
Application & Formula
The formula of Iktsuarpok by Pretty Serious was of medium consistency, and it was easy to apply using a typical painting technique.
To get it to look its best, I recommend using two coats. This will get it opaque and streak-free.

If you are trying to stay away from Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or DBP, you’ll be happy to know that Pretty Serious nail polishes don’t contain any of those ingredients.
Animal-Friendly

Iktsuarpok took me by surprise because I’m not usually one to rustle pom-poms over grey nail polish. This one has that pep to it that makes me confident that I’ll be wearing this again.
Before learning about this nail polish, did you already know what Iktsuarpok means? Do you wear grey nail polish often? Do the glass-fleck flakes remind you also of snow highlighted by sunshine?

I love how greys look on you! For me, it can be hit or miss, depending on the finish and the undertone. Eventually when I wear more, I’ll get a better feel for what works for me. 🙂

I honestly didn’t know what Iktsuarpok means much less how to pronounce it correctly. I’m glad that I read your blog because I just learnt something new. I don’t usually wear grey polish. I find it can be so hard for me to pull off sometimes. When I looked at the glass flecks and closed my eyes I envisioned that horrible snow storm we had not last year but the year before that. Outside looked beautiful when the sun hit it with all the icicles and the sun hitting the snow.

Oh yeah – that snowstorm was a nightmare, and it was a never-ending winter! Thank goodness this year, at least we got some summery weather!
If were to use it in a conversation it would be awesome! I literally had to back to elementary school days and pronounce the syllables to get it pronounced correctly lol. Yes! Thank goodness for some nice-ish weather.
