Designed to be applied as the final step in your skincare routine before putting on your makeup, The Body Shop WONDERBLUR is a silicone-based face primer that claims to provide a lightweight blurring effect.
This blurring effect reduces the appearance of fine lines, while it minimizes the look of pores.
It will be available to purchase in March, which is right around the corner. (Time is flying by pretty fast, isn’t it? But I really can’t wait for spring and the warmer weather to arrive. The frigid winter weather has been going on far too long for my liking.)
To see how it performed, I incorporated The Body Shop WONDERBLUR into my everyday morning routine to see how it would fare over the duration of the day and into the night.
P.S. Today is the LAST DAY to enter my worldwide Instagram giveaway for your chance to win some nail-polish goodies!
P.P.S. You still have until February 27 to enter my Canadian giveaway for The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Deluxe Gift Set!

The Body Shop WONDERBLUR Review
Colour
Since The Body Shop WONDERBLUR isn’t advertised as a colour corrector, it is clear and will suit any skin tone.
Texture & Finish
When I squeezed out some product, the little dollop reminded me of powdered sugar because its appearance was granular and on the dry side.
I used my fingers to apply it onto my skin and was impressed by how it was creamy and smooth without feeling greasy. It left a satiny finish.
Application & Formula
As I mentioned earlier, I incorporated The Body Shop WONDERBLUR into my usual morning routine, so my experience using this product is over my daytime Shiseido moisturizer with SPF and under my favourite foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup in the shade 1W2 Sand (applied with a damp beautyblender) with a few spritzes of the Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray (Oil Control version).
You could probably use The Body Shop WONDERBLUR on your bare skin, but I never use it that way because I’m in the habit of wearing SPF daily plus moisturizer is a must, especially when the harsh winter weather has been making my skin feel uncomfortable lately.
Since I always use a setting spray, I used it also in this case to see if The Body Shop WONDERBLUR would get unusually greasy and slide around still.
Your results may vary, but in order for me to accurately assess its performance, I had to rule out other variables by keeping everything constant with the only change being the introduction of this face primer.
Okay, I do typically wear Skindinavia’s The Makeup Primer Spray (Oil Control version), but I had to forego using that because it didn’t make sense to me to double up on primers. Plus I noticed that the primer spray helps my foundation go on better, so I didn’t want to give any advantage prior to using The Body Shop WONDERBLUR.
Also worth noting is that when I used it over my moisturizer, I was surprised that it had a wonderful soothing effect! My sensitive skin felt very comfortable with this on.
The packaging states that it’s safe to use on the eye area, so if you have fine lines on the outer corners of your eyes, you can use it there, too. (I applied this onto my whole face, except on my eyelids.)
Performance
After using the amount you see in the photo (about 2-pea-sizes’ worth of primer), I did notice that it created a slight blurring effect. It wasn’t dramatic, and it didn’t make me feel like my face was airbrushed for the cover of Vogue, but I could notice a positive difference.
My combination skin is already smooth and I don’t have lots of large pores, so that’s probably why the product didn’t yield extremely dramatic results.
Still, it worked. It slightly blurred things out, and I can see how even if you don’t follow up with foundation afterwards, some people may still want to use this for the soft effect.
When I used a damp beautyblender to apply my Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup Foundation, it was obvious that The Body Shop WONDERBLUR created a great canvas. The foundation sat comfortably on the primer without looking cakey or clumpy. Plus the foundation set quickly like it usually does. It seems that the primer didn’t have any negative effect when used in combination with the foundation.
After I applied the rest of my face makeup and setting spray, I went on with the rest of my day, going to work at the office, running some errands afterwards, and keeping it on until very late at night.
I didn’t get shinier than usual, my makeup wasn’t sliding around, and it didn’t feel greasy. Plus my makeup lasted a long time like I’m used to, which means that this primer didn’t cause it to separate, fade, or otherwise wear away quicker than usual.
Packaging
The Body Shop WONDERBLUR comes in a box to protect the squeeze tube with a screw-on cap.
When it comes to skincare products, I prefer no-nonsense packaging like this because it’s simple, and it gets right to the point.
The compact tube doesn’t take up much space on my bathroom’s vanity, and it can easily stand up.
Since the cap is oval instead of round, even if your hands have lotion on them, you can use leverage to quickly unscrew it. (I really appreciate this because in the morning, I’m always rushing, and the last thing I want to worry about is struggling to open a primer.)
Animal-Friendliness & People-Friendliness
The Body Shop is a company that is against animal testing, so their products are always cruelty-free. Additionally, they believe in community free trade, so you can feel good supporting a company that values people.

Final Verdict: 9/10
I really enjoy wearing The Body Shop WONDERBLUR because it makes my skin feel comfortable, especially when it has been subjected to the harsh, cold winter wind outside and then dry heat indoors.
Although I didn’t notice any crazy dramatic blurring effect (only a gentle one), it could just be because my skin is already smooth to begin with, and I don’t have lots of large pores.
I appreciated how it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and how it didn’t make me shinier than usual at the end of the day or into the night.

The texture is really interesting…like powdered sugar, but then when you rub it in, it’s completely smooth and comfortable!
