Since I posted my in-depth review with swatches of OPI That’s Hula-rious! from the Hawaii Collection, some of you have asked me how it compares with other specific greens. I’ve included all the ones you asked about.
In this post, I show you someย OPI That’s Hula-rious! Comparison Swatches!
As you can see, none of them are dupes, and while this is coming from a green fiend, I have to say that you can totally justify buying all of these because they’re different enough. ๐
The greens I chose to compare were the following:
- OPI That’s Hula-rious! (Hehe, obviously!)
- OPI Gargantuan Green Grape
- OPI Damone Roberts 1968
- OPI Mermaid’s Tears
- Essie Turquoise & Caicos
You can click on any of the above links to see the individual in-depth reviews I’ve done on those.
But, to better see how they all compare under the same lighting conditions, check out the rest of this post.

Which is your favourite from the bunch? Can you believe that it’s almost February? (The OPI Hawaii Collection will officially be released soon!)
Great!! They’re all different enough to justify having them all… ๐
In fact, they’re green so that is justification enough, but still, it’s nice to have an extra reason to silence certain male objections to 100+ green polishes ๐

Hey Joyce!
Hahaha, spoken like a true nailphile. Love that! Haha, and are you reading my mind? When you wrote that about these polishes being green, it hit so close to home! ๐
I love it when colors are different. Even just a little bit. Helps alleviate the guilt. lol

Hahahahhahah! Glad that I could help you enjoy nail polish guilt-free…or at least relatively so! ๐
Thanks for comparison!! I now know I need the Essie!
Hey Arathael!
It’s my pleasure! I’m so happy that a reader suggested it and that many people are finding it helpful. ๐
My favorite is Damone Roberts 1968 and then Mermaid’s Tears.
Hey Cindi!
Both are gorgeous! ๐
All different shades of green and all of them gorgeous! Thanks for sharing! ๐
Hey Melissa!
Hehe, all greens = heart-race city (for me)! ๐
Everytime I see That’s Hularious I fall more and more in love with it… such a gorgeous shade!!

oh Mary, ANY TIME you want to keep weeding out potential dupes for DR1968, i’ll cheer you on all day! it’s a huge lemming i keep missing out on, so… are there any close dupes in your green-loving stash?
Hey Michelle!
I’ll try to go through more polishes to see if anything’s even remotely similar, but so far, nothing is a dead-on dupe, surprisingly!
