a-england Fated Prince Swatches & ReviewIf you check out nail blogs, you’ll no doubt see that the a-england Burne-Jones Dream Collection has been receiving a lot of love from nailphiles.

I can see why people are digging it! 🙂 The formulas are so pigmented and smooth.

Recently, I wore a-england Fated Prince, which NailPolishCanada was generous to provide.

It was no exception to the rule – a-england nail polishes are a-mazing! 😉 Hehe, sorry, but I couldn’t resist making that pun.

P.S. You have until August 16, 2013 to enter to win the entire a-england Burne-Jones Dream Collection in my worldwide giveaway!

P.P.S. Stay tuned later this evening because I have a second post scheduled! It’s for a press release of an upcoming collection. (Lately I’ve been getting lots of press releases, so this week, you’ll be seeing an unusually large number of them.)

Key Notes

a-england Fated Prince Review

Colour

Fated Prince by a-england is a deep grey with a scattered rainbow, thanks to the holographic finish. Had I snapped photos of this beauty in the sunlight, you would’ve seen the effect more dramatically.

Some grey nail polishes are dull or remind you of cement. Fated Prince, however, is edgy and interesting. Drab and boring are adjectives that I definitely wouldn’t associate with it!

Finish

It has a scattered holographic finish, so in the sunlight, you can see a sprinkling of every shade in the rainbow running along your nails. It’s really fun to look at, and that’s what sets itself apart from other polishes in this colour family.

Application & Formula

Wow, I’m seriously impressed with a-england because this polish was extremely pigmented and smooth. This was a one-coater, but I used 2 out of habit.

The finish is really smooth and shiny, and the formula was a breeze to work with. I wish that all nail polishes applied this easily.

I feel like this is the type of lacquer that’s perfect for nailphiles who are beginners. Instead of having to worry about dealing with a bad formula, you can focus on your nail-painting skills. Easy peasy way to help build your confidence! 🙂

Pros

  • Smooth, easy-to-work-with formula
  • Scattered holo
  • One-coater

Cons

  • There’s a Con? 😉

Final Verdict: 9.5/10

If you’ve never tried a-england nail polishes before, I highly recommend them. Although I’ve only tried a few so far, every single one I’ve tried has been extremely pigmented and a dream to apply!

And, after interacting with my awesome readers, I’ve discovered that they have amazing greens – Saint George and Dragon. Guess what? I purchased those recently! After I wear them and photograph them, I’ll be reviewing them. Super excited about those! (Hehe, you know me and greeeeeeeeeens!) 😉

What’s your favourite a-england nail polish? Have you purchased any colours from the Burne-Jones Dream Collection? What nail polish would you recommend nail newbies try because the formulation is easy to work with?

Edit: Yay! NailPolishCanada and a-england retweeted my blog post! 🙂

Oh my goodness, your swatches and photographs are absolutely stunning. And that polish is so beautiful. I actually like it better in natural light with the holo not showing. I’ve still not tried an a-england and I really, really should! x

This polish is VERY photogenic, and it looks better in person. 🙂 I’m new to a-england, and they’re blowing me away. (Right now, I’m wearing one of their green holos – Dragon! I love it!)

      Hey Icequeen81!

I usually don’t go crazy over greys, but this one’s particularly nice. The holo and excellent formula make it a great pick!

I’m not a grey lover either, but some dark grey that tend to be more gun metal can look beautiful. I have a l LA GIRL Metal in gun metal is my most precious grey I have ever seen or worn.

There’s just something about certain greys that ‘hit the spot’. I have to figure out what they all have in common so that I can build my grey collection.
