There are some nail polishes that make me feel like such a lady…even if I’m wearing sweatpants and stuffing my face with kettle-cooked chips (Kettle Chips in Honey Dijon, FYI). I know…sexy beast, right? 😉
Although its name isn’t very lady-like, when I wore OPI Pussy Galore from the Bond Girls Collection due out in May, I certainly felt prim and proper.
For one thing, I don’t often wear light pinks, so that may have something to do with it. Also, there’s something about this particular shade and finish that makes me feel this way. More on that later!

OPI Pussy Galore Review
Colour
If you like sweet pinks like OPI Princesses Rule, you’ll probably love Pussy Galore by OPI. Both are perfect for the Girlie Girl.
OPI Pussy Galore reminds me of pink pearls, and I always associate pearls with traditional femininity. (Whenever I wear pearls, which isn’t often, I always feel like I have to be on my best behaviour. Come to think of it, maybe that’s why I don’t wear pearls often, or when I do, I pair it with a funky necklace. Behaving is boring, right?) 😉
This pale pink is pretty, but as nice as it is, it really isn’t my style. I much prefer the bolder, vibrant hues that provide more contrast and punch.
(You know how some people wear perfume that’s so strong, it enters the room before they do? Well, for me, I like my nail polish to ‘enter the room’ before I do…hehe, even if that’s not physically possible. And if that happened, geez, how creepy! Hehehe!)
That being said, I think this looks killer on lots of other ladies. But, with my skin tone, it just doesn’t drive me crazy.
And guess what? I really was hoping for this to wow me. Even though you’ve seen my reviews on other colours from the Bond Girls Collection first, Pussy Galore was actually the very first one I wore.
Finish
Pussy Galore by OPI has a Liquid Sand finish, so there’s noticeable texture that gives it an interesting look. It’s almost rock-like, but it’s not sharp or scratchy.
Also important to note is that even though Liquid Sand finishes appear like they’d be a headache to remove, they’re actually easier to remove than you’d expect. They’re nowhere near as difficult to remove as glitter polish.
Pussy Galore has a little bit of sparkle, but out of all the Bond Girls Collection shades, this one isn’t the most glittertastic one.
Application & Formula
I have no problems with applying Pussy Galore by OPI. It applied exactly like every other Liquid Sand I’ve worn to date. It’s easy to control – not too thin and not too thick.
I particularly love how the Liquid Sand formula dries very fast on me. I’ve put it to the test, actually. Normally, I paint my nails at night, right before I go to bed, but to see how fast this dried, I painted my nails in the morning once. As long as I allowed a few minutes for it to set, I didn’t get any dings. Love it!

Final Verdict: 6.5/10
OPI Pussy Galore is a pretty polish, but it’s just not my first choice. I dig bold, dramatic, and even over-the-top shades over the subtle variety. Heck, I even prefer having tacky nails over having lady-like nails.
I think it’s because I love looking down at my nails and smiling because of what I see, whether it’s ridiculous or ‘out there’. A ‘normal’ manicure doesn’t elicit as strong of a reaction from me.
Of the Liquid Sands I’ve shown you on here so far, which is your favourite? Do you prefer wearing lady-like colours or more funky ones? What do you think of the name Pussy Galore – too raunchy or really fun?
I actually really like this polish color. It does look really girly without being over the top. I don’t like the name though.

Hey Erin Ortiz!
Yeah, the name is a bit much, isn’t it? Haha, and if someone asks what you’re wearing, it’ll be a bit awkward to say the name!
This is actually really pretty! I tend to go for either more of a natural look to my nails or definitely an interesting color but only once in awhile do I wear a pink like this – I think I can count on a few fingers how many pale pinks I own, lol! I think the bonus of this shade is that it is so opaque because of the texture, and most of my other pale pink polishes take many coats to build up, so I could see the benefit in owning this shade. Great review, Mary! 🙂

Hey Angie!
That’s a good point – the opacity of Pussy Galore is definitely its strong point.
Usually when I feel the urge to wear a pink nail polish, I’ll reach for a neon. Neon pinks are some of my favourite nail polishes (even more than neon greens, surprisingly)!
My pleasure – so glad that you enjoyed this review! Thanks for leaving a comment!
I used to be just like you in the dramatic, stark or simply unique nails taste. But I may have come full circle…I have been wearing nails that most people wouldn’t dare to wear for so long that pretty, pink, lady-like nails ARE my out of the ordinary! There is a shock factor for people that know me that I am wearing something so dainty. haha Call it a Nicki Minaj effect with the pink I guess!
Hey Vicki!
Hehe, I know exactly what you mean. Soft shades are my ‘shocking, out-of-the-ordinary’ colours, too, for my nails! 😉 And it’s weird, but when I wear really delicate shades, I feel uncomfortable sometimes (like with a nude beige). Yet I could wear something gaudy like neon green and feel wonderful!
Oh man that is pretty…. darn you OPI…. lol

Hey Lizzy!
Hahaha, I think we should hand our wallets over to OPI. 😉
Kettle Chips in Honey Dijon are the best! I always need to make sure a bag isn’t within arms reach, otherwise I’d finish the whole bag. I was hoping this polish would be really sparkly to add some pizzazz to this tame pink.

Hey Neelie Z!
*High Five* Yes, they ARE the best! But they’re so dangerous because I can easily polish off the big bag in a single sitting. I have a lot of self-control for many chips, but the Honey Dijon is my weakness.
let me think about that me English liquorise candy
Hey Icequeen81!
How’s English licorice different than regular licorice?
I just can’t get past the name! I know the inspiration and all that but I just can’t lol! Not a huge fan of light pinks on me either, but it looks great on you!

Hey Kelly!
I understand – the name of the polish definitely isn’t for everyone…haha!
First of all, I am OBSESSED with the Kettle Chips in Honey Dijon…they are too good! I love the name for this one! I haven’t tried any of the texture polishes yet (I know, I know…), but I’m really loving what I’m seeing from the Bond Girls collection. Lovely swatches, Mary!

Hey Jenn H!
Yes, they’re amazing, aren’t they? Have you tried the other flavours? I have, but I still love the Honey Dijon the best.
Seems like people either really love or really hate the name of this polish.
Another polish I wouldn’t be caught dead with. Not only do I hate texture, I don’t care for light pinks and the name is just distasteful. As someone pointed out, can you imagine wearing this and being asked what it’s called?!

Hey another Cristina!
Wow, they really struck out with you on this polish, didn’t they?
That color reminds me of cupcakes or frosted sugar cookies…I’d be tempted to lick my nails LOL!
Hey Tam!
If they made it scented, that would be the icing on the cake! 🙂
Do I prefer wearing more lady-like colours as opposed to funky?
hmm tough choice 😛
Well I’m off to get my nails done with a friend today just a simple MANicure with a clear top coat but also a nice relaxing pedicure with a summery colour in gel polish that lasts for 3 weeks
Hey Gareth!
Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing time. Wow, I’ve always wondered if those polishes really last for so long. Please let me know the results – I’m so curious!
Oh Mary, It was Devine the pedicure chair massaged me in all the right places. Ah they didn’t have Gelish in the colour I wanted so I opted for a standard polish this time!
So I am still curious too!
The funny thing is when I asked for a MANicure shown her a picture, I almost got white tips applied because of the language barrier :O
That would of been interesting …..
Hey Gareth!
Glad that you enjoyed being pampered! 🙂 I’ve never had a professional pedicure, but I think I’d be too shy. Plus my feet are VERY ticklish, so I might be awkwardly giggling throughout the entire painting process!
