Years ago, Justin Timberlake thought that he was bringing sexy back. Yeah right – he can’t hold a candle to Chanel Peridot or any other multichrome nail polish, for that matter!
You’ll remember that I sported this sexy beast a while ago and gushed in a blog post about how it was the first Chanel anything I’ve ever owned. (It still is.)
This time I wore it, I decided to give it a little makeover. Since I love argyle and wanted to do a look that combined posh with preppy, I thought it was only appropriate to do a Chanel Peridot Argyle Konadicure using Konad Image Plate m60.
As you can see, I goofed up the stamping on the index finger, but it didn’t really bother me because the overall look was exactly what I was going for – tacky! 😉 Seriously, sometimes tacky things make you smile like nothing else, and I needed something to smile about. Done and done!
It almost has a snakeskin feel to it, and as much as I dislike snakes, I really like the patterns on their skin.

(Note: If you’ve never seen Chanel Peridot solo, you really need to because it’s way more brilliant than my below photos show. The nail stamping hides the multichrome nature, plus in the above link, you’ll see swatches of it in the sun. During the time I wore it for this post, I didn’t have my camera handy when the sun came out.)

Duochromes and multichrome lacquers are my favourite to stamp over because they add that extra dimension to the finished effect.
What are some of your favourite colours to stamp over? What are some tacky things you’ll admit to liking? Have you entered my latest Konad nail stamping kit giveaway? (Ends February 7 at 11:11 am Eastern)
I bought Peridot this week! It was my first Chanel too!
It really has a snakeskin effect, I love it, and that plate is one of my favourites. I didn´t have much time to did any stamping lately though 🙁

Hey Mara!
YAY for you getting Chanel Peridot! It’s such an incredible polish, isn’t it? Totally worth the splurge.
I hear ya – life can get soooo busy, especially when you least expect it. But I’m sure you’ll get back to stamping. 🙂 And when you do, it’s going to be awesome.
Do you know what stamping design you’d want to do for your next Konad manicure?
They look gorgeous.
I recently bought Peridot Chanel. I should have seen your post earlier. I can’t wait to try this thing out. Will do it soon. are there any more shades?
Thanks.

Hey Michelle Richards!
You totally need to try Peridot – it’ll take your breath away!
Chanel Peridot is my first and only Chanel polish (or anything Chanel), so I can’t recommend any other Chanel shades. But, if you’re looking for another awesome multichrome (that isn’t mainly green and gold like this is), you’ll like Orly Space Cadet. It’s a bit hard to find now, but if you can get it for a reasonable price, it’s worth it.
Oh my, what awesome colour! I’ve seen that argyle Konadicure before on nail blogs, and I really love the pattern! Btw – I don’t own anything Chanel yet, but I keep on dreaming about the quilted handbag; I think it would really compliment the argyle pattern! 😉

Hey Conni Norkov!
Yeah, now that you mention it, the quilted handbag really would complement it! 🙂
This Konadicure looks amazing! I just looked at your review of it solo and I love it. If I get it, it’s going to be my first Chanel.
Hey maddy!
Thank you so much! 🙂 I absolutely loved wearing it. The argyle pattern on that image plate is one of my favourite designs in my whole stash of Konad and Bundle Monster plates. It ‘funkifies’ pretty much any polish.
What’s your favourite pattern? Argyle? Houndstooth? Plaid? Checkerboard? Pinstripe?
If you do end up getting Chanel Peridot, you’ll cherish it! This is such a special polish. The first time I slicked it on, I thought, “WOW! How did I almost not buy this?” It looks even better in person than in any photos I’ve seen or even taken of it myself. Definitely it’s worth the splurge if you can afford it.
I’m so glad I got my hands on this sexy beast! (Much thanks to you, Marta and the other Mary for convincing me!) It really is such a strong duochrome. I wore it during the Christmas week and almost didn’t have the heart to take it off after 7 days of wear. I have to ask tho, what’s the secret to crisp looking stamping nail art? I find it really tricky. Using metallic polish to stamp with is easy, but with the black polish Marta recommended, I have a hard time getting the images crisp. What am I doing wrong? Or should I blame the polish? :S
As for tacky things I like, well there’s glue, tape and pos-its. Not a huge fan of those epoxy resins though. (The hubby says: Now THAT’S tacky. :P)

Hey Carmela!
Hmm…for stamping, I usually use the Konad Special Nail Polish in Black and have never had any problems transferring images onto my nails with it. (I haven’t tried any black non-Konad polishes.)
It might be your image plate. I find it helps to use polish remover to clean the plate (and the stamper) before doing any stamping. Also, it can sometimes make a huge difference if you clean in between each stamp.
What’s your current method of stamping? Maybe I can make better suggestions if I know more specifics.
Hahaha, you and your husband are funny!
I was queuing up your Guest post today and literally squealed when I opened your blog (to make sure I use the accurate link) to find this Konadicure!!!
If this is tacky, then tack on a tacky note to my forehead because I. LOVE. THIS. LOOK. AND, you may totally think I’m bluffing, I tried this very stamp the first time I wore Peridot. But (warning this may sound very gross) I was so excited -and I think unfortunately sweaty with elation – that this stamp just wouldn’t transfer onto my sleek (as in wet) nails. I was so disappointed because I wanted to pair these two so much! I will have to now, calm and collect myself, and try it again!
GORGEOUS!!!!!

Hey Marta!
Thanks again for asking me to do a guest post for your blog. It was a huge honour! 🙂
Hehe, great polishing minds think alike. 😉 Yes, you must try stamping this design over Peridot again. I’m sure you’ll do a way better job than I’ve done. After all, you ARE the stamping queen!
you MUST try to track down paradoxal (or the revlon version: perplex in the US; naughty in Can.).
my polish problem started with chanel’s gold fiction and paradoxal solidified it.
(finally buying 2 helmers tomorrow. sick of my collection being spread out all over ever available surface!)
Hey Aliya!
Yes, it’s absolutely gorgeous. My friend, Marta, actually surprised me with a Polish polish dupe for Paradoxal. 🙂 I loved wearing it!
YAY for you getting your Helmers! Which colour(s) did you go for? I only have one Helmer, and I went with red.
i was looking for silver and they were out. i ended up getting 2 reds.
Red is still a great choice! 🙂 At least they add colour to the room, and they remind me of tool chests.

Did you ever notice how nobody really notices the boo-boos til you tell them about it? 😛
This mani is amazing…and I’m not even a big fan of argyle patterns. If you only get Chanel once in a blue moon, this is a great shade!
..and now that I’ve caught up on your blog, I have the urge to paint. Think I’m gonna take my keister down the hall and offload the dryer so that I can strip and do my nails tonite. 😀
Hey karen!
I point out flaws because I like reminding people that just because a manicure isn’t perfect, it doesn’t mean that you still can’t enjoy it. 🙂 A lot of people get frustrated with themselves when something doesn’t come out exactly as they were expecting it to…but I like to remind people that it’s okay. 😀 Imperfections show that something was done by hand, and it makes it more personal. At least that’s my perspective.
Which polish did you end up wearing?
I’m indulging in a Be Kind to Cuticles Month…so no glitters or anything that would require acetone for removal. I have promised myself that I will try some of the lesser-used polishes by themselves so that I can fall in love with them all over again.
They are arranged in order from lights to darks, so I’ve started at the lighter end of the box.
Today’s color is OPI Sweetheart. It’s much lighter than I usually wear, but goes well with my skin tone now that the summer tan is gone.
Don’t think I’ve seen OPI Sweetheart before, but wearing light colours sounds good since winter’s so full of dark shades.
I see Peridot everywhere and it’s only making me want it more! lol Unfortunately, Chanel is not in my budget right now. This Konadicure looks awesome.

Hey lacquerloon!
That’s okay – there are still plenty of other gorgeous and wallet-friendly polishes out there. 🙂 But if you ever are able to splurge, this surely is the one!
I love this mani so much Mary!! The colors go perfectly together!

Hey Marisa!
Thanks! 🙂 I love how it’s really bold and tacky. It helped to put me in a great mood. Gotta love how us polish addicts can use our lacquers for colour therapy. 😉
This mani looks so good! 🙂

Hey Maddie!
Thanks! 😀 It was a lot of fun to wear, and putting together Peridot and argyle was a no-brainer. 🙂
I just love konadicures over multichrome polishes! I don’t know what it is exactly, cuz it does diminish a bit of the effect, but I think they look so cool! And I think you’re right, this pattern does look a little snakeskin-y. Very cool!
I was wondering though, today when I was at Rite-Aid I saw a Borghese polish called European Green and it looked SO SIMILAR to this polish. Are you familiar with it and if so, are they dupes?
Nicole M recently posted: China Glaze Electropop “Make Some Noise” Review
Hey Nicole M!
Unfortunately, I haven’t tried any Borghese polishes, and I haven’t seen European Green in person, so I can’t truly comment on how they compare. But I did look at some swatches online, and it seems like there isn’t as much green in that as in Chanel Peridot. European Green reminds me more of Butter London Wallis.
