Loose Button January 2012 Luxe Box Review & Pictures

January Luxe Box Review & PicturesWhen I received my Loose Button January 2012 Luxe Box on Friday, my jaw dropped. (Don’t worry – I picked it up so that nobody would accidentally trip over it and hurt themselves.)

This month, the cardboard box that shipped was way bigger than any of the ones I previous received. It was roughly double the height!

So, of course curiosity got the best of this cat! I tore this baby open and took photos of everything along the way to show you.

Even though there wasn’t any nail polish in the January Luxe Box, I think that this is easily Loose Button’s best box ever…(well, compared to the ones I’ve received in the past).

Without further ado, let me take you on a long unboxing journey. 😉

Warning: This post is picture-heavy!

Loose Button January 2012 Luxe Box Review

Two Luxe Boxes This Month

I applaud Loose Button for giving such a generous surprise this month. It’s always nice to get more than you bargained for. And instead of just getting an extra product, we got an entire box full of more stuff!

Shipping that white box along with the usual black box must’ve cost the company a pretty penny. As customers, we didn’t have to pay more, though.

Benefit Powda Wowza

Loose Button sent an e-mail prior to sending out the boxes and gave subscribers a choice between a few products if they replied in time. I chose the Benefit Powda Wowza because it’s a limited-edition, full-size product. Getting this item alone already paid for the entire January 2012 Luxe Box!

Schick Hydro Silk Razor

I like how they included this in the white box. Almost every woman shaves, so this is a practical item that’ll get some use.

Fragrance Bundle

I smiled when I saw the sample of Prada Candy included in the cute black mesh bag because I literally just saw Gregory Gorgeous’ YouTube video where he briefly talked about it.

It’s cool how Loose Button included a bunch of vials to count as one sample instead of just counting a single vial as one sample.

How much you like a perfume is really subjective, so it’s great that you can try out many at once. However, I didn’t care for the Nina Ricci perfumes last month…and now I have back-ups of them. I’ll try to give them away to someone who likes them. (But, if you liked those scents, you’d be pretty happy to get more!)

Coffee

I appreciated how they added a bonus product that wasn’t beauty-related. But…I wish I had a coffee maker so I could try this!

Coupons

I really liked how there were more coupons this month because, especially if you like certain products, the coupons add extra value to the Luxe Box.

Excessive Packaging

While I loved this month’s box, I have to say that there’s soooooooo much packaging. There were two boxes shipped in another box. I wish that Loose Button would try to go the environmentally-friendly route. It would also save them some overhead expenses…

Pros

  • TONS of products this month (2 boxes!)
  • Boxes contained makeup, coffee, haircare, perfume, a cute black mesh bag & a razor
  • Subscribers had the choice of picking one product
Cons

  • The sticker is the only place where you’ll see your name. (This is an extremely minor criticism.)
  • There is an exorbitant amount of packaging. (It’s not environmentally-friendly.)

Final Verdict: 10/10

Loose Button outdid themselves this month! I’m very pleased with this box, and I think that they’re improving and become more savvy with the partnerships they’re making. (Benefit Cosmetics and Biosilk especially are sure to be huge hits among subscribers.)

Which products were you most excited to see? Did you get a Loose Button Luxe Box this month? What was in yours?

      Hey maddy!

Yeah, I couldn’t believe it – they went above and beyond a lot of my expectations. If they keep this up, I can only see the company getting better and better. It’s great that they’re trying to give people more of what they want.

    Holy Smokes! Jackpot!
Those are some great products! Thank you for picking up your jaw, it left a little room for mine (don’t worry, I managed to pick it up before dashing out the door for work).
Biosilk is amazing! I used it back when I had longer hair and it did beautiful things for that baby-fine mop of mine. Now that I’ve cut it all off, I pretty much skip conditioning, but you’ll love what it does.

    Have a great monday!

      Hey karen!

Hahaha, now I have a mental image of all these jaws all over the floor. It’s funny, but at the same time, it’s creepy. 😛 Imagine a bunch of bones just lying around? Okay, maybe don’t think about that for as long as I did.

      Moving on… 😉

So excited to try out Biosilk! People keep recommending it to me – not sure why I didn’t try it before.

Hope you have a great Monday, too! 😀

      Hey Bailey!

Oh, that’s too bad. I understand. It really sometimes does seem like the luck of the draw and checking your e-mail right when they send it. This time, I was lucky and checked my e-mail shortly after they sent it.

Thanks for sharing your goodies! I’m hoping my box will be delivered today. I was also able to select the Powda Wowza – so very excited about getting that. I am scent sensitive and asked them not to send me perfume samples…..so I’m hoping they give me something else.

      Hey Nicole!

No problem – it’s really fun to share, and I also love seeing what others got! 🙂

Oh, it’s good that you told them not to send perfume samples if you’re really sensitive. Wonder what they’ll send you instead of those. When you get your box, please let me know what you got. I’m curious!

        I got a great box!
        Benefit Powda Wowza
China Glaze nail polish in fuschia
NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk
Moroccanoil oil treatment (I have received this one before – but am almost out and really like it, so was happy to get it again)
Laura Mercier perfecting water – rich (I have received this before and it is sitting in a basket still – not sure how to use it – lol)
        Seattle’s Best Coffe
        Schick razor
        Shampoo and conditioner samples

I think mine was one of the best ones out there!

*Gasp* You got a bottle of nail polish, Benefit Powda Wowza, and MoroccanOil Oil Treatment? That is INCREDIBLE value right there!

I agree with you – your box is definitely one of the best ones I’ve seen. Lucky ducky! 😀

Holy cow that’s a lot of product! That’s one sweet box for 12 dollars. I’m so jealous of the benefit blushes/bronzer! Did you end up liking any of the fragrance samples they sent?

      Hey Vivian!

Yeah, I wasn’t expecting so many items! You know, I was thinking that the December box would’ve been the “Wow” box just because of Christmas and all, but I guess they wanted to start off the year with a bang! 🙂

I haven’t tried any of the samples yet except for the Nina Ricci ones (which I didn’t like at all).

      Hey Madeline!

Hahaha, that’s funny. Why is it that a lot of companies that have the word “Best” in their name actually aren’t the best? 😛 Maybe they’re working their way to become the best?

      Hey Jennifer!

I’m SUPER excited about the powder because normally I can’t wear Benefit products since they tend to use this one ingredient that I have a cosmetic allergy to. But this one looks like it’s been made without that ingredient! YAY!

Wowza! I swear if I see one more luxe box that has such an amazing selection like this, I’m signing up in a jiffy! That Benefit blush set looks amazing. And limited edition, too? *sigh* Remind me again why I’m being so reticent about this? 😛

Such a great deal for $12(ish)! Did you sign up for 3 months or a whole year? I’m hoping to score a membership for this on V-day. Heavy hinting is in progress. 😉

      Hey Carmela!

I signed up only on a monthly basis because I wasn’t planning on keeping it for a full year and back then, there was only a discount for the full year. Although now I see that if you sign up for 3 months (or a full year), you also get a subscription to Flare magazine. That’s a nice bonus!

OMG! This box is HUGE and AMAZING! I don’t know much about these monthly subscription boxes, but I just signed up for my first birchbox and it was so so. I really really want to do this one instead, for $2 more it seems it may be worth it. I’ll have to look more into this when I get home. Which means, I’ll be purchasing a subscription when I get home. This is excitiiiiinnnnggg 😀

Aww…sorry that you can’t get it because it’s for Canadians. Maybe your Birch Box will be better next month? Sometimes it’s just hit or miss with a lot of these kind of subscriptions.
