Well, The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask is a far cry from fun nail polishes, isn’t it?

I’ve been looking for a good moisturizing and cleansing mask for a while now. Something that I could use as a weekly treatment to wipe away any skin sins accumulated throughout the week.

The Body Shop had one of their Buy 2 Get 1 Free sales, so I thought I’d give one of their masks a try. I’m not jumping-with-joy over this product, but I do like it. It does a pretty good job, just not perfect. I’m sure there are better masks out there. Plus, you could probably make a homemade mask that does a comparable job.

The Body Shop Honey & Oat Mask Review

Consistency & Application

The consistency of the Body Shop Honey & Oak Mask is creamy and feels soft and gentle. The oatmeal grains don’t make the mask gritty or harsh at all. The smooth consistency means you can quickly apply it before any part of it starts to dry.

Scent

This The Body Shop mask smells like oats and fiber. At first I didn’t find it pleasant, but now I actually like that it doesn’t have a fragrance. I’m glad that TBS didn’t add unnecessary perfume in case it causes irritation.

How It Feels

When it dries, The Body Shop 3-in-1 Scrub Mask doesn’t feel like dry clay making your skin tight. You can definitely feel that it’s dried, but it’s not uncomfortable at all. And when you’re washing away the mask and doing a scrubbing motion, the gentle oat particles don’t scratch your skin. I like this a lot since sometimes exfoliant beads can feel too harsh.

How to Use

After you wash your face, apply a medium-thin layer of this all over and wait about 10-15 minutes for it to dry. Then using lukewarm water, rinse away the mask in a circular motion to polish your skin. (It’s a little difficult to rinse off.) I use this once every week and twice if I feel my skin needs it.

Effects on Skin

The Body Shop 3-in1 Honey & Oat Scrub Mask promises to cleanse, polish and moisturize in one step. It does the first two very well. After using this, my skin feels clearer and my complexion seems to be evened out. And I noticed that my pores appear smaller.

However, I don’t feel it moisturizes very well for my dry skin. I have to use a moisturizer immediately after this or my skin feels a little tight and kind of parched.

Value

This retails for $16.50, but I got it for 10% less since I have their rewards card. It does have quite a lot of applications. I’ve gotten 6 applications out of this so far and barely made a dent. Honey & Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask by The Body Shop is not as expensive as some masks out there, but it’s not the cheapest.

I’m going to see if I can create a similar mask with some at-home ingredients. Do you know of one? If so, share please! 😀

This is a solid mask that I do like. But since it fails to moisturize my dry skin even though it promises to, it’s not a mask that I’m loyal to. I will be searching for an even better mask.
