Quick Look: OPI Neons Collection

Neons by OPI CollectionAlthough the weather has been really crappy, I’m still crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that sunny days and warmth is in the near horizon.

Thank goodness for nail polish because it provides the much-needed colour therapy!

Today, I have a quick look at theΒ OPI Neons Collection, which I shared the press release of. It includes 6 shades. These are OPI’s first full-size neons! πŸ™‚ YAY!

As a green fiend, of course I’m excited about the greens, but I’m happy to sport all of them!

Check out the rest of this post for swatches and more bottle shots. Then, in a future post, I’ll share in-depth reviews.

Look how pretty and alive they all look together!

Please note that all the photos in this post were taken under artificial light on my computer desk. (Normally, I take photos in natural light, flash light, and sometimes sunlight.)

In my upcoming in-depth reviews, you’ll get to see the colours better, so stay tuned!

The entire OPI Neons Collection was generously provided by PR. (Thank you!) πŸ™‚

Which one do you like the best? Do you wear a white polish underneath bright shades to maximize their ‘neon-ness’? If you could create a neon shade, what would it look like?

I think I like all of these colors. I just might have to pick up two or three to four or…

      Hey Melissa!

Hehe, that’s right – these polishes need the company of others to feel at home. You’re just doing your best to make them feel safe and secure, like what any good nailphile would do. πŸ˜‰

I have to say I’m not really wowed by this collection at all yet πŸ™ I think the China Glaze neons offer a better variety. I can’t wait to read the full reviews and proper nail swatches though so I won’t rule them out yet. You have a habit of making me want nail polish I thought I wouldn’t really like πŸ˜›

      Hey Cuti-CLUE-les!

China Glaze certainly is the veteran when it comes to putting out awesome neon nail polishes! (My favourite all-time neons are from China Glaze, actually.) But it’s still cool to see that OPI is putting out their first full-size neons. I wonder what new neons they’ll come up with next!

Haha, I’m flattered that I can create a polish lemming, but it also makes me feel guilty! πŸ˜‰ Just a little!

I’ll be reviewing some of these really soon, so stay tuned!

I have worn neons with and with out white underneath, though the white makes the colors really pop. Is OPI releasing a white base specifically to be worn under these colors? I’m so glad to see your post on these colors and can’t wait to see your individual swatches. I’m particularly interested to see the pink and purple.

hmmm…. judging from your photos, Down to the Core-al is going to give Chanel Tutti Frutti a run for its money on my wishlist! I am loving that pretty shimmer- unique for a neon. Life gave me Lemons is interesting, too.

      Hey Lorraine!

Shimmer is really pretty, especially because lots of people will be wearing a neon in the summer. When the sunlight hits the shimmer, it’s a beautiful thing! πŸ™‚

i’m super curious to hear about the formulas on these! I don’t like neons for two reasons:
    1. Most require ‘underwear’ to look neon.
    2. The ones that look neon without underwear usually have horrible formulas.
This is just my own experience. the other day i tossed a brand new bottle from the Orly baked collection bc the formula was impossible!! It was just like glue.. It formed a skin on the outside and the inside never, NEVER dried!! O_o such a shame, it was a gorgeous color. πŸ™

      Hey Pema!

I’ll be reviewing these really soon. I was going to do it last week, but things go delayed before and after my cat passed away. I will be sure to have a review of at least one up in the coming week! I’ve been wanting to show everyone these because I’m a huge fan of bright shades!

Sorry to hear about your Orly dud! That’s so strange how the outside dried, but the inside didn’t. What top coat are you using? I find that using Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat make any polish dry fast, even those that would normally take forever. It works by penetrating each layer.

Those are gorgeous, and I think you’ll really enjoy them. Check out my in-depth reviews on them, if you haven’t already. πŸ™‚
