I can hardly contain my excitement, but now I no longer have to! 😉 It’s time to spill the beans on this project that has been in progress since around early 2013! Yup, it’s been a long time coming!
I’m so proud to showcase the world premiere of Pretty Serious Swatch And Learn, the colour that I designed! 😀 *Squeals*

In collaboration with the talented Karen (aka Kaz) of the Australian-based company, Pretty Serious Cosmetics, my nailphile dreams came true for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! (Many thanks to her for all the hard work she put in and for her patience.)
We communicated back and forth, and Kaz listened to the visions of a colour that would represent my dream nail polish. She mixed and mixed, created variations, sent it to the lab, and then showed me photos of the results. From there, I gave my feedback, the colour was tweaked, and we landed on what makes my heart race!
Pretty Serious Swatch And Learn is part of a blogger collection comprised of other shades that will launch later this week for sale all over the world! (Stay tuned when I share the official press release.)
Swatch And Learn by Pretty Serious has a strong green base and is very sparkly when you first see it straight-on, but throughout the day when you look at your manicure at different angles, you’ll see golden, blue, and purplish pink nuances. I’d like to think of these as fun surprises for the wearer, which I always enjoy.
For this reason, it was tricky to photograph. Haha, you should’ve seen some of the angles I had to photograph it – it was like I was a nail-polish-loving contortionist! 😉
In today’s blog post, I’ll show you TONS of swatches and bottle photos in various lighting and in different angles, so that you get a glimpse into why I love it so much. It is more magical in person, and I hope that you’ll also enjoy wearing it. (If you purchase it and photograph your manicure or pedicure of it, please feel free to tag me on social media, so I can check it out!)
Normally, I post swatches and detailed reviews of nail polishes, but, seeing as I designed the colour, I think any review would be way too biased. (I’ll leave the reviews for the other amazing bloggers out there. I’m so excited to hear what bloggers and non-bloggers think of my shade!)
I must take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to all my loyal blog readers! I had you all in mind when I designed this, and I have something really special planned very soon later this month when I celebrate my 4-year blogiversary. (You won’t want to miss it – lots of giveaways – hint hint!)

Oh my goodness, I had the best time working on this collaboration shade because I’ve always had ideas for nail-polish colours, but I’ve never really done much frankening to know what was possible. Communicating back and forth with Karen let me see the ‘real side’ of creating polishes. It’s not just about visions. It’s about hard work, dedication, and being resourceful plus very creative. I am so grateful to have gotten to see the inner workings of the process, and I hope that I’ll get to be part of the nail-polish-creation process again!
Maybe I’ll write a little bit about it in a future post. My 4-year blogiversary is coming up really soon, so perhaps I can add it to that post! 🙂

This is a very pretty green. Is the pink shimmer more apparent in real life as opposed to swatches? If so, I think that shimmer makes this super unique! Congrats on the collab!

Yes, from certain angles, the pink shimmer is very noticeable. This polish is quite complex, so it’s tricky to photograph, but when you see it in person, move your fingers around, and you’ll see ALL the colours! 🙂

I’ve asked Karen, the owner of Pretty Serious Cosmetics, and she said that while it’s not a limited edition, eventually, it will be discontinued, but that won’t happen for at least a year. Hope that helps!

The blue box was part of the sample they sent me. But the official box that’s for retail sale will be more purple. Hope that clarifies things. The gorgeous artwork is still going to be on the purple box. 🙂

I think this is a really pretty colour. Though to be honest, I probably wouldn’t wear it. But that’s only because I don’t wear nail polish on my finger nails anymore. I find it distracting. And this colour doesn’t quite suit toenails to me. However, I think it would look lovely on most people!

What colourful imagery you have – so cool! I have often thought of how amazing it would be to blend together various polishes to come up with something unique and different, so I take that as a big compliment! A SpaRitual nail polish in a blender sounds like it would be right up my alley then, if it can produce something like this!

I know I’m late to the party on this, but what a party it is! I’ve had your polish for about a month now and just put it on today. It’s the most beautiful and beguiling polish I’ve worn in a long time, and I wear a lot of polish. Don’t know why I waited so long. I can’t get enough of the hidden colors that flash from that beautiful green. Thanks for your imagination and the great work at Pretty Serious. This is one that will definitely remain in the rotation.
