Pretty Serious Kashmir Swatches & Review

Pretty Serious Kashmir Swatches & ReviewPretty Serious Kashmir from the second trio of nail-polish blogger collaboration shades in the Stop! Collaborate, And Listen Collection is sexy stuff!

It was designed by Christine of Serenity Nails, and clearly, she has an eye for colour.

Although the warm weather is making me gravitate toward bright polishes and summery shades, I enjoy wearing any colour, no matter what season it is.

Pretty Serious Kashmir is a real looker, and if you’re interested in a vampy shade with that Va-Va-Voom Factor, this baby should visit you.

It’s sultry and dark, yet not so vampy that it looks like a near black.

Pretty Serious Kashmir Review

Colour

This is one of those showstopper nail polishes that makes you ooh and ahh when you admire it in the bottle. The red-toned purple base has a jelly finish, which gives the polish depth. It’s vampy, but it’s not too dark that it looks black.

Suspended in the polish are flakes and flecks. There’s golden and copper smaller flakers, as well as beautiful flecks that look purple and sometimes blue. Plus you can spy red opal flakes.

Together, the overall appearance is majestic!

Finish

Despite having flakes and glass flecks, the polish (even without a glossy top coat) is very smooth. (However, I always recommend wearing a top coat because it improves the wear for a lot of polishes.)

Application & Formula

Application was a breeze with Kashmir by Pretty Serious! It was very easy to apply, and it was so smooth and pigmented!

I only needed to use two coats to get full coverage, and the depth of the polish was spectacular!

Big-4 Free

All Pretty Serious nail polishes don’t contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or DBP.

Animal-Friendly

Nail polishes by Pretty Serious are also cruelty-free and vegan!

Pros

  • Beautiful vampy polish with some oomph (thanks to the glass flecks and flakes)
  • Smooth finish
  • Pigmented
  • Big-4 free
  • Animal-friendly

Cons

  • Hmm, I can’t think of a Con!

Final Verdict: 9/10

Kashmir by Pretty Serious is a stunning nail polish. The colour combined with the formula is amazing, and I didn’t want to take this polish off. (Haha, the “problem” of being a nail blogger is that although I sometimes want to wear a polish for an entire month straight, I just can’t, or I wouldn’t have any content for new posts! I remember the days when I wasn’t a blogger. I once wore China Glaze Blue Sparrow for two weeks straight. Although I miss the days of being able to wear polishes for an insanely long time, I really enjoy how blogging makes me try out new polishes. It’s amazing how many more gems you can find when you test the waters!) 🙂

Do you wear dark shades even in the summer? If you could design your own nail polish, what would it look like? What is a nail polish that you’ve never seen on the market, but would want a company to create?

      Hey Robbie!

Plus when you see the red flakes, too, they are almost like fire, lighting up the polish to a new level of Fierce! 🙂

      Hey Christine!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! You did an INCREDIBLE job at designing this shade – it definitely won’t wind up in a lonely corner of one of my Helmers! This will also make for a sexy pedicure. (I don’t even paint my toenails much, but I want to try this on my toenails next!)

I’m usually not a big “Purple” person, but I’m really loving this color. It’s so vampy and the shimmer makes it look as if it’s glowing. Gorgeous!

Beautiful swatches and such a gorgeous color, I love red-based purples!! Out of curiosity, what polishes have you ranked 10/10? 🙂

      Hey Tanya!

Good question! I don’t keep separate notes, so I won’t be able to remember them all. But off the top of my head, here are just some polishes I’ve ranked 10 out of 10: a-england Lady of the Lake, OPI Alcatraz…Rocks, Pretty Serious Moments Til Midnight, and OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana.

Oh, beautiful! Am I right in believing it is a lot like Chanel Taboo, with a touch of Opi Merry Midnight thrown in?
In answer to your questions: yes, I wear dark shades all year round. And the one color I’d like to see (re)created, is Hits Mari Moon Unconventional – a multi chrome that shifts from yellow-gold to burgundy. I’ve never found anything quite like it . . . And also I would love to see flakies like the gold leaf ones, but in colors, especially in black. What do you think?

      Hey Minerva!

Hmm, I’m picturing both of those polishes, and yeah, the love child might very well look like Kashmir! Clever pairing!

Oh, that multichrome you described sounds like a dream. You’re right – there aren’t too many that go yellow-gold to burgundy with a strong shift.

Black gold leaf sounds hot! I can see that being a huge hit for a Hallowe’en collection, although I would wear it any time of year. You’re onto something! Have you ever considered sending your ideas to nail-polish companies? You never know – your dream polish might become a reality. It’s worth trying!

        Hi again!

No, never emailed companies – not even when they had contests and such. I ought to . . . Maybe try ILNP or Llarowe? Other suggestions? In any case, I’ll keep you posted 🙂
For now many regards from Amsterdam!

Yes, I really think you should pitch your suggestion to indie brands like the ones you mentioned, but also even Pretty Serious Cosmetics! Karen aka Kaz is awesome. I’m not saying that she will 100% put your idea into production, but at least she would consider the creative possibilities. She produces a lot of unique shades, and her company doesn’t follow trends and often does her own thing! 🙂
