Pretty Serious Cuddle Bunny Swatches & Review

As the name would suggest, Pretty Serious Cuddle Bunny from the Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names Collection is as cute as the Easter Bunny clucking in those Cadbury Creme Egg commercials. Gets me every single time!

Pretty Serious Cuddle Bunny is like Sweet Tarts for your nails, and for some strange reason, I can imagine it meowing in a squeaky, high-pitched voice like a newborn kitten! Yup – cuteness overload!

At some point or another, we are all “guilty” of giving our pets cutesy, over-the-top, ridiculous names, and somehow their sweet little faces compel us to speak in baby voices.

But it also extends to significant others. Haha, I remember my then-boyfriend and I had funny pet names for each other that we loved. Sometimes, I called him “Hun Bun,” but most times, I called him “Sugar Possum,” and he called me his “Armadillo Pillow.” To this day, they’re still my favourite pet names. 😉

Pretty Serious Cuddle Bunny Review

Colour

With an elegant softness like lavender lilacs, Cuddle Bunny by Pretty Serious is bloomin’ pretty! (Yup, I couldn’t resist making the cheesy pun.)

This soft purple gives me an Easter vibe, but there seems to be a touch of grey because the overall look is more muted and sophisticated, rather than childish.

Finish

I love the finish because it looks like a classic creme at first, but upon further inspection, it has delicate silver microshimmer throughout. The effect the shimmer creates is more of a sheen that is easier to see in direct sunlight.

Application & Formula

Cuddle Bunny by Pretty Serious has an incredible formula. It goes on smoothly without being thick, yet it covers so well. The initial coat was very pigmented, but I still used my usual minimum of two coats.

If you’ve worn a wide variety of nail polishes like I have, you’ll appreciate how easy and effortless it is to apply this one. It’s almost like lacquer training wheels. Even if you are a newbie, you can get stellar results because you’re not struggling with a bad consistency.

Ingredients

Pretty Serious Cuddle Bunny doesn’t contain Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, or Toluene, so if you’re looking to avoid those ingredients, you’ll be happy about this.

Animal-Friendliness

This nail polish is vegan and cruelty-free, which I think is especially appropriate because this collection is about pets! 🙂

Pros

  • Sophisticated lavender
  • Classic creme finish with subtle microshimmer
  • Smooth & pigmented formula
  • No Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, or Toluene
  • Vegan & cruelty-free

Cons

  • If you don’t like buying nail polish online, getting your hands on this can be quite challenging.

Final Verdict: 9/10

I’m very impressed with the formula – highly recommend it! Plus the colour is easy to pull off on many different skin tones and on people of all ages. A rare gem!

What are some funny pet names you’ve given to your fur babies, feathered babies, or human babies? Which lacquer in your collection has the best formula?

I’m not much of a purple person, but I really liking this one. it’s such a pretty color and it looks great on you. I think I might be getting this one at some point.

      Hey Melissa!

Even with one coat, it covers so well! I was really surprised because a lot of shades like this tend to be watery and sheer, but this was waaaaay better!

this color looks absolutely gorgeous on your nails.. and you’re right- at first you think ”spring”, but it seems muted enough to be acceptable any time of year. i’m kinda on the fence with purple- it’s like pink for me.. it has to be just the right shade. this color is definitely one i’d rock in the winter/spring time.. it’s so feminine without being too ”girly”. love that! pretty serious does some awesome polishes! HUGE fan ;-D

      Hey Sasha!

Aww, Whiskers is an adorable name for a feline. (I also really like the name Freckles, even though none of the cats I’ve ever had were named that.) Hehehe, “Whiskey Poo” is cute! HAHAHAHA – I love Booger and Jambalaya! They’re so random! Thanks for sharing and bringing a smile to my face. 🙂

Thanks when we first got him we was really afraid of us. I then found out that the woman who gave him to my mom said that the previous owners before her had moved and left him outside to fend for himself. So pretty much for about three days he was outside eating stuff off the ground and being abused by people until one day he ran into that ladies house. So when she was moving she asked my mom if she would mind taking care of him and we got everything for him (including the litter box, food etc.) for free. Now you wouldn’t even be able to tell he had such a bad past lol.

Wow – some pet owners are cruel. Leaving a domesticated animal outside to fend for itself would be traumatizing. I don’t agree with that at all! In any case, the story has a happy ending because he found a loving home that he deserves! (Thanks for sharing the background story with me.)
