OPI What’s with the Cattitude? Swatches & Review

OPI Whats with the Cattitude SwatchesLately my mom’s cat, Pingu, has been going through a lot of health issues – limping, a kneecap that keeps moving around, severe weight loss, and a white spot on his eye that may be an ulcer.

The vet can’t figure it out what’s ailing him, despite various testing, and it’s really stressful. I always wished that Pingu could speak English, but especially at times like this.

He’s on easy-to-digest wet food right now because for some reason, he’s unable to eat his dry food anymore. Since this change in diet, he’s put on a tiny bit of weight. Hopefully this continues because he’s become so skinny that I’m really worried about him – he was always a muscular, active cat and within a span of a month or two, he became scrawny and tired all the time.

Since Pingu was on my mind a lot when I was choosing my next nail-polish color, I reached for OPI What’s with the Cattitude?, which is part of the Shrek Forever After Collection that came out last year.

I love this clean pastel blue!

OPI What’s with the Cattitude? Review

Color

What’s with the Cattitude by OPI is a beautiful clean pastel blue. It’s not too light, so it still packs a punch. And since I don’t usually wear this color, it was a breath of fresh air.

Application & Formula

It went on smoothly and while the formula was runny, it was easy to work with. The first coat was streaky, but the second coat evened everything out.

The only reason why I had to use a third coat was because I messed up one of my fingers, so there was a streak that I needed to fix.

Finish

This creme polish dries shiny on its own, although I did use a quick-dry top coat (as usual).

Ingredients

OPI What’s with the Cattitude? doesn’t contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, or DBP, but it does have Formaldehyde resin.

Pros

  • Clean pastel blue creme
  • Smooth formula
  • Dries shiny
  • Big-3-Free (No Formaldehyde, Toluene, or DBP)
Cons

  • Not Big-4-Free (Contains Formaldehyde resin)
  • Can be difficult to track this down since it came out last year

Final Verdict: 9/10

Although I don’t typically wear a lot of pastel blues, this is definitely one that I’m going to wear again because the application was a breeze and the color is a beauty!

What are your favorite pastel blues? Do you ever buy polishes or makeup just because they have a punny name?

      Hey Shimmer!

I felt the same way – always saw it on other people and thought how pretty it was. Don’t know why it took me a year before I decided to buy it.

P.S. I really like the tie-dye shatter manicure you did. Been wanting to do something like that with neons. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

Aw, thanks! My little sis was visiting me and she was telling me about how she saw something like this and wanted me to figure out a way to do it on her. She was my inspiration 🙂 I’m so mad because I saw “What’s with The Cattitude” at my beauty supply not too long ago and I put off buying it. Then went back and its not there! BOO why do I always do that to myself? Hahahahaa.

      How sweet!

Hopefully What’s with the Cattitude shows up again so you can get it.

I’ve noticed that it’s been getting a lot of love this year especially. Last year when it was easier to find, I didn’t even blink an eye. Funny how things happen this way. It’s almost as though we like creating challenges for ourselves. Haha!

      Hey Ruthe!

Thanks – it’s such a sweet pastel blue. Should’ve bought it a lot sooner! You’re going to love it – perfect especially for spring and summer. Although I can picture it being great for winter with an icy, glittery top coat over it.

Yes, the OPI Shrek Forever After Collection has a lot of great colors. Which ones do you think you’ll get? (I really like Who the Shrek Are You?, but I think I prefer What’s with the Cattitude? even more!)

          Hey Ruthe!

It’s weird, but when the collection first came out, I only wanted Who the Shrek Are You?, but after seeing What’s with the Cattitude?, I just had to have it. And I was going to buy Fiona the Fiercely Fiona one because it had her name in it, but she didn’t like the color so I didn’t get it for her. And right now, I’m thinking about getting Rumple’s Wiggin’, but I may skip it. Not sure if that shade will make me look like I have lobster hands!

Isn’t it neat how in the Shrek collection, they have darker and lighter versions of each color? It would be neat to wear them as a manicure-pedicure.

Poor Pingu. I wanna give him a hug. =( Here’s a hug for you and your mom too, Mary!

Love this colour on you btw. This reminds me of For Audrey but this looks lighter and brighter and more blue I think. A great robin’s egg blue!

Thanks, Kee! (I know that Pingu thanks you, too.) I’m going to see my mom and Pingu today. Hope they’re alright, and hope Pingu’s eating more now. It scares me how fast he lost so much weight!

Glad you like this color. 🙂 It’s such a soft, pretty color. Definitely all blue with no green/teal leanings like China Glaze For Audrey. Both are awesome, and I’ll definitely wear them again!

      Hey Lesley!

Just got word from my mom that she heard from the vet after the second urine test. There was blood in it again, so now the vet wants to obtain a culture sample. That means she’ll have to put Pingu under and then use a needle to get a urine sample directly from his bladder! My mom doesn’t want to go through with that because it’s expensive for her and because taking Pingu to and from the animal hospital so many times is really stressful on him. He already gets incredibly stressed out for a regular visit, but this back-and-forth business is going to make it worse for him.

I suspect it’s a urinary tract infection, cystitis, or bladder stones after doing a search online. But…the vet hasn’t suggested anything. Getting frustrated. But my mom’s going to ask specifically about those to see what she says. Meanwhile, I hope Pingu’s not in pain. He doesn’t seem to be, but with animals, you can never be sure…at least for non-professionals.

Thanks for your concern, Lesley. It’s nice to know that you care. And I’m glad that you’re enjoying Swatch And Learn. We love blogging! 🙂

I really want this color so bad. I was going to buy it from Trans Design a few weeks ago when I decided I was going to make my first online nail polish purchase. It was literally in stock one day and the next, it was gone. I know it’s just a plain creme, but it’s such a pretty blue. There’s nothing like it in my stash.

      Hey Melissa!

Yeah, for the longest time, I went back and forth on if I should get this polish. When I finally decided to, it was out of stock on Trans Design. I ended up buying it on eBay for around the retail price. Some beauty-supply stores that still carry old collections may have them, but it’s getting harder to find, unfortunately.

China Glaze Bahamian Escape is not an exact dupe, but if you’re craving a similar color, that’s a good choice…and cheaper.

Do you wear a lot of blues? Which is your favorite?
