Nail Art: Zoya Skittle Manicure Using 4 Colours from the Zoya Beach & Surf Summer 2012 Collection

Zoya Surf & Beach 2012 Collection Skittle Manicure SwatchesFrom the minute I first saw the colours from the Zoya Beach & Surf Summer 2012 Collection all lined up and pretty, an idea for a skittle manicure came to mind. (I used Zoya Reagan, Lara, Shelby, and Arizona!)

You’ll remember that I previously did a neon skittle manicure and loved the way it turned out. So I had to try more skittle nails!

I have a tough time pulling off pinks, but with the gradient effect, it seems to work.

Okay, maybe you’re thinking, “That orange looks out of place.” Instead of accenting my ring finger (aka my candy-corn-shaped nail), the baby finger and my thumb got the royal treatment.

As you know, I don’t usually wear pink nail polish (unless it’s neon, of course), and the orange made it more wearable for me…probably because it’s an unexpected touch. (Plus my pinkie finger is such a rebellious little guy.) 😉

It hit me – if you use just the pink polishes for your skittle manicure, you could totally rock this in October for Breast Cancer Awareness!

Key Notes

Hehe, I was super excited to try out all 4 of these beautiful Zoya nail polishes right away. Eventually when I wear them solo, I’ll try to catch them on camera so I can review each of them separately.

What colours would you use for your skittle manicure? Do you like accenting a nail other than the typical ring finger?

Edit: I was so excited to find out that Zoya featured me on their blog and their Facebook page! See below for some screenshots.

Love it! My pinky likes to be the wild child too (with that ole’ thumb too on occasion). 🙂 Yay for happy nails.

      Hey Marisa!

Haha, it’s like Zoya was sending me the mental message to do this skittle manicure. They were lined up in the box in this order, and I couldn’t help but feel compelled to wear them exactly like that. 😀

      Hey Brittany!

Aww…you’re making my ego very, verrrry happy right now! 😉 But, really, Zoya is the genius. They lined up the colours in the box like that. Subliminal skittle-manicure messages? 😛

I totally dig these! I love gradient/skittles manicure because it is like enjoying a few of my beauties all at once 😉 I think it is a really Chic look! I like the orange touch! I have a post scheduled where a pink is my accent nail in a red manicure! 😉 it is a good way to wear pinks if you don’t do so often.
I have seen Maria (Cult Nails) sport two accent nails (ring and pinky) and I LOVE that look 🙂

      Hey Kellie!

That’s quite alright. Not everyone has to like the same colours or things. 🙂 That’s what makes looking at other people’s manicures interesting.

Your idea for a manicure sounds great. You should totally do it!
