MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick has an Amplified Creme formula that goes on creamy. This is the shade to reach for when you sport dramatic smoky eyes and want all the attention on the windows to your soul.
I’m always buying nude lipsticks, but they usually seem hard for me to pull off – too concealer-like, too corpse-ish, too dry, etc.
Despite having bad luck with finding my perfect wear-anytime nude lipstick, I still decided to give the MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Amplified Creme Lipstick a try. It has slight peach leanings, which I feel makes it more wearable than ones that are too beige or yellow.
Plus, you’ve gotta give kudos to the MAC Viva Glam campaign because the proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund, which helps people who are living with AIDS and HIV. It feels good donating to a worthy cause and getting a collectible beauty product to boot.
So was this lipstick a hit or miss for me? Will I be cracking it out often, or will it be hidden away in a makeup drawer?

MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick Review
Most nude lipsticks I have trouble pulling off because they’re too yellow, too dead, or make my lips look like I put on concealer. But MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Amplified Creme Lipstick was a different story. I find that this is one of the easiest lipsticks I have ever worn!
Color
This light warm neutral beige suits my NC20 skin very well. It’s not a match to my skin tone, which is good, because I don’t like to completely erase my lips. But there’s enough peachiness that makes me look like I don’t belong 6 feet under.
Without any product, my lips are light pink, and when I wear MAC Viva Glam Gaga II lipstick, my lips appear nude. If your natural lips are dark or are very light, expect to get different results.
Formula
It glides on my pout very easily. The Amplified Creme formula by MAC is very creamy and it’s pigmented without being oddly opaque. And it doesn’t look flat like a regular matte finish.
This isn’t a moisturizing formula, though. So before you wear this, make sure you condition your lips or it’ll accentuate fine lines and dryness.
Lasting Power
I wore the MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Amplified Creme Lipstick for 3 full hours without eating or drinking before I started to see it fade slightly. The fading was even, and I didn’t get a ring around my lips.
Fragrance
As with all MAC lipsticks, this one smells deliciously like vanilla cake batter. It’s very mild, so I can’t see many people having an aversion to it. This smell makes me enjoy using the Lady Gaga 2 lipstick even more! And I don’t detect any taste as a result of the fragrance.
Price & Accessibility
MAC lipsticks are the most expensive lipsticks I’ve ever bought just because I’ve never dabbled into high-end lipsticks and because I’m more of a lip-gloss wearer.
This lipstick is very easy to find now because it just came out not too long ago. But if you’re interested, make sure you head over to a MAC store or counter (or see if it’s still in stock online) – it’s limited-edition, so after they restock it a few times, once it’s gone, it’ll be permanently gone!
MAC AIDS Fund
When you buy this shade, you’re not only getting a fantastic MAC lipstick, but you’re also supporting a fund that helps women, men, and kids who are living with AIDS and HIV.
Lady Gaga Collectible Packaging
Normally I throw out the cardboard box that the MAC lipsticks come in, but because this has collectible Lady Gaga packaging, I plan to keep it. There’s a shiny metallic red Lady Gaga ‘signature’ along with a star.
And the actual lipstick tube also has the same ‘signature’ and star, but in black on the red barrel.
I’m not the biggest Lady Gaga fan (I only like a few songs and find her fashion sense entertaining), but if you are, this is a must-have item.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10
I’ve been searching for a wearable nude lipstick for many years. And I think that I’ve finally found the perfect one! It goes on easily and is a nude that doesn’t leave me looking corpse-ish. Plus I love knowing that I’m supporting a good cause and getting special limited-edition packaging.

Hi Alaeis!
I’m a bit shy, but I’ll be updating this post with a lip swatch in the near future because it would probably be helpful to others, too. Never took photos of my lips before so I’ll have to try out a few angles.
Just wanted to let you know that I finally updated the post with lip swatches. You can compare MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick to my bare lips for a better idea of the color and opacity. Hope this helps! 🙂
I was not interested in this color at all. But after seeing your review and Karla Sugars this is a color I need to have 😀 It just works out I have a Macys giftcard with $16 left on it perfect!

I know what you mean, Amber! When I saw the promos, thought it was a blah color. Then tried it out on a whim and was surprised with how pretty and wearable it is.
I think this colour would look a bit dead on me, sadly.
My first ever MAC purchase was Viva Glam I, way back when it first came out. I could never wear such a strongly coloured matte these days, but I’m still quite fond of it.
I think my favourite nude lipstick – or at least my current favourite – would be Maybelline Color Sensational in Born With It.

Yup, nudes are tricky. They can wash a person out for sure. I think it’s the slight peachiness that makes it look more “alive” on me.
Dee, how’s the formula of Maybelline Color Sensational in Born With It? Does it feel moisturizing?
I think it’s quite moisturising – it’s very smooth and creamy and applies beautifully.

Good to know, and it’s an affordable option.
