I don’t believe that everyone needs a skin toner. It really all depends on how your skin responds to your cleaner. But if you feel you need one, then allow me to recommend the Vichy Purete Thermale Hydra-Soothing Toner!
Previously I used the Vichy Purete Thermale Hydra-Perfecting Toner (it’s blue, and it‘s for normal to combination and sensitive skin), but I finished the bottle before I got a chance to review it. Then I saw that Vichy has one specifically for dry, sensitive skin – so I got that instead. I can’t tell a huge difference between the two though. My skin doesn’t feel taut or parched after using either.

Vichy Purete Thermale Hydra-Soothing Toner Review
Not sure if you need a toner? Take a look at my Is Toner Necessary? post for a little bit of information. For those who decide on one, the Vichy Purete Thermale Toner is great! It soothes and doesn’t irritate the skin.
I think toner is a skincare product that you can’t see the effects right away. It’s more of the after-effects you enjoy. Here are some of the benefits that I saw (in comparison to not using the Vichy toner):
- My skin feels less sticky after putting on a moisturizer since it absorbed quicker
- My pores seem to have decreased in size
- There is less shine, and the oily spots on my skin are more matted the next day
I put a ? next to “Captures impurities” because that’s not why I use the Vichy Hydra-Soothing toner for. My cleanser (Vichy Purete Thermale Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser) does a really good job at removing dirt and makeup, leaving no residue at all behind. So when I wipe my face with this, I don’t see any dirt at all on the cotton round.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10
Sometimes I’m too lazy to put on moisturizer after using the Vichy Hydra toner. I know, I know – it’s so bad! But even when I commit this skincare crime, my face never feels tight or uncomfortable. I think that’s a true testament to why this product is one of the best toners out there.
Do you use a toner? If so, which one?
