China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy Swatches & Review (Revisited)

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy Swatches & ReviewNeon nail polishes are incredible pick-me-uppers any season, and I’ve been known to wear them even in the winter. (Try it – it’s even brighter when you’re surrounded by snow!)

One of my all-time favourite neons that I turn to time and time again is none other than the original version of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, a beautiful, retina-searing coral that’s so bright, if my camera had eyes, they’d be squinting.

I purchased it when the China Glaze Poolside Collection first came out in 2010, and to this day, I still remember what the promo pictures looked like. It was one of the first neon collections I ever tried, and from then on, there was a soft spot in my heart for neons.

I’m halfway through my bottle of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, so I had to shake it up before taking these photos or the bottle would look pretty crusty.

Sadly, the new version of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy is more of a pale peach, not the blazing coral that I fell for back in the day. I reviewed it in 2011 on the blog here. As you can see, my blogging style has changed since then, but there are still many similarities. Also, today’s review has more colour-accurate photos in natural light, in case you were wondering. (While I’m no photography expert, I’ve learned many things through trial and error during my blogging journey.)

I’ve never worn the new version of Flip Flop Fantasy, and I can’t quite bring myself to just yet. I don’t want to be disappointed. Until I finish every last bit of this bottle, only then will I finally crack open the new one.

China Glaze, if you’re reading this, please, please, please bring back the original version. So many nailphiles miss and love it. I know that I’m not the only one!

Nail Art: Neon Ladybug Nails

Ladybug Nail Art NeonOn Monday night, I painted these Neon Ladybug Nails, and I only took them off on Friday night because the design on my index finger chipped.

It was funny how it chipped. The ‘body’ part fell off in one sheet, but the black tips with the eyes remained. (That finger ended up looking like a robber!)

Ladybug nails are nothing new. In fact, I did a traditional black-and-red variety in 2011, which you can see in the Ladybug Nail Art Tutorial I posted back then.

This time, I wanted a summery twist because I was craving neons, and in particular, I wanted some old neons that I remember loving and reviewing on here from 2010 to 2012.

I used all China Glaze nail polishes in the following colours: Pool Party (reddish pink), Flip Flop Fantasy (coral – the original version), Sun Worshiper (orange), and Yellow Polka Dot Bikini (yellow).

I also used OPI nail polishes: Who Are You Calling Bossy?!? (black) and Angel with a Leadfoot (white).

This is the manicure I wore to the Elizabeth Arden Fall Preview event that I went to on Tuesday. It was held in Toronto’s Financial District on the 31st floor of the Trump Hotel. (The Trump Hotel was rated as the #1 luxury hotel in Canada!)

(I shared some photos on my Instagram. Click the link to see them. You don’t need the Instagram app to view the images. Only if you want to “Like” or comment on a photo do you need to install it on your phone.)

China Glaze Baby Beats Giveaway

Surprise!

A while back, I purchased the China Glaze Baby Beats Micro Mini Set. Actually, I purchased two sets – one for myself, and one for a giveaway, so that one lucky winner and I could be nail-polish twinsies! 🙂

Not only are the mini bottles really adorable, but I find that the brush is perfect for painting toenails. (Since Sandal Season is right around the corner, it’s the ideal time to experiment with bright shades. But, really, dare to wear loud colours whenever you want. Lacquer is about having fun!)

Since I’m a fan of bold colours, I had to share this cute, collectible set with you. It features six mini bottles of colours from the China Glaze Electric Nights Collection.

I’m opening up the giveaway worldwide this time, so hopefully more of my readers can enter.

Please carefully read the rest of this post because it contains the specifics on how to ensure that your entry qualifies.

China Glaze Point Me to the Party Swatches & Review! (Layered Over KBShimmer Sarong Place, Sarong Time)

China Glaze Point Me to the Party Swatches & ReviewLike an explosion of neon fireworks, China Glaze Point Me to the Party from the Electric Nights Collection is a must-have nail polish, as far as I’m concerned!

For a big mainstream company, I was pleasantly surprised to see it channeling a look that is more reminiscent of indie nail polishes. (Since I don’t have too many indies in my collection, this got me very excited!)

Neons are some of my favourite lacquers to wear any season because they are an instant pick-me-up. Now, with China Glaze Point Me to the Party, you could layer a neon base with a multicoloured neon glitter topper!

For this manicure, I layered China Glaze Point Me to the Party over my existing manicure, which was KBShimmer Sarong Place, Sarong Time (from the Summer 2015 Collection), which I reviewed in-depth yesterday.

China Glaze Electric Nights Skittle Manicure & Mini Review of 3 Shades

China Glaze Electric Nights Nail ArtWhen I purchased the China Glaze Electric Nights Collection Mini Set about two months ago, I knew that I’d have to wear a manicure featuring more than one shade.

(Sometimes being indecisive about what to wear can lead to a fun nail look!)

This China Glaze Electric Nights Skittle Manicure was the result. (You got a sneak peek of it about three weeks ago on social media.)

Many times when I looked at my nails, I kept thinking, “Nails Just Wanna Have Fun,” sung to the melody of Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! 😉

Today, I show you tons of manicure photos (including bottle shots), and I share mini reviews on each of the colours: Daisy Know My Name? (yellow), DJ Blue My Mind (blue), and Treble Maker (green).

This collection has already been out for some time. (The mini set that I have is trickier to find now, but you should be able to locate the full-size bottles easily.)

P.S. If you like these colours, you’ll want to keep your eagle eye on Swatch And Learn because I’m going to have a fun worldwide giveaway coming up really soon! *Hint hint*

China Glaze Red-y to Rave Swatches & Review

China Glaze Red-y to Rave Swatches & ReviewChina Glaze Red-y to Rave from the Electric Nights Collection is a neon reddish orange that supposedly glows under a black light.

(I wore this a while ago after trimming my nails short. I tend to let my nails grow long and then I cut them very short instead of maintaining a particular length. Anyone else the same way?)

Unfortunately, I don’t own a black light, so I couldn’t show you how it lights up.

Interesting thing that one of my friends pointed out: China Glaze seems to really like using the “Red-y” pun in the names of their polishes. 😉 There’s Adventure Red-y and Red-y & Willing, off the top of my head.

Several weeks ago I purchased the cute China Glaze Baby Beats Micro Mini Set that includes six of the shades in the Electric Nights Collection. Mini bottles are so fun and collectible, so I find them difficult to resist. (Plus the small brushes are ideal for my tiny toes. I don’t give myself a pedicure too often, but when I do, I love using a neon nail polish!)
