Smorgasbord Sundays: I Eat Penguins!

President's Choice Banana Bread Little Penguins Soft CookiesPenguins are funny animals – the way they waddle when they walk and look like they’re wearing a tuxedo is enough to make me like them. Plus I think it’s very bizarre (and intriguing!) how they’re flightless birds that prefer the water.

So when I did some grocery shopping the other day and spotted these cute President’s Choice Banana Bread Little Penguins Soft Cookies, you know I had to get them.

My inner child was tugging at my shirt saying, “Can we get ’em? Can we get ’em? Can we get ’em?”

“We” got ’em. πŸ˜›

Look how fun the packaging is – 2 too-cool-for-school penguins being total badasses and riding a makeshift skateboard with bananas as the wheels.

Cue story and cheesy cheap-budget music.

It all started out on a normal Friday morning. Penny (left) and Spencer (right) were heading to school.

Little did either of them know the tragedy that was to befall them.

Dun, dun, dun!

Mary, the evil queen of Yumsville, cut in front of them and with a slew of charms managed to befriend them. She said that she wanted to give them the royal treatment, but for that, they’d have to ditch school for today.

Penny was looking to kick ass on her math test (she studied really hard and knew it all like the front of her beak). Spencer, however, didn’t take much convincing because he thought school was for chumps.

In the end, both of them agreed to head over to Mary’s castle, Swatch And Learn.

It was filled with lots of pretty colours. There was makeup from wall to wall everywhere that the eye could see. There was an odd smell, though. Penny likened it to nail-polish fumes.

Spencer was beginning to think that school was more fun than this, but he stayed anyway.

Then Mary rolled out aΒ special white carpet for them.

They were so unsuspecting of the atrocity to come that they even decided to take a short nap because Mary was taking so long painting her nails!

But the second that Spencer let his guard down, the evil queen beheaded his sister!

(Yum was it ever delicious!)

Fortunately for Mary, Spencer wasn’t the brightest penguin in the box.

She quickly took another chomp! (Mmm!)

At this point, Mary figured that Spencer was completely aware and that he just didn’t like his sister much.

(Another bite!)

Spencer met the same fate.

But that wasn’t enough to satisfy Mary’s terrible, blood-thirsty ways.

She caught sight of Tim, Penny and Spencer’s friend who had followed them.

Tim was hiding in a bag to avoid being eaten. His strategy did not work.Β Tim was devoured in seconds.

The moral of the story is go to school, kids! πŸ˜› Also, be thankful that you’re not a penguin cookie!

Hope my cheesy little story made you smile. Sometimes it’s good to just have fun and play with your food. Being an adult shouldn’t mean having to take yourself seriously all the time. πŸ™‚

Happy Sunday, everyone!

This was so much fun to read! My inner child was squealing with glee. Awesome way to start my Sunday! πŸ˜€ I like to play this game with gummy bears but penguin soft cookies look like fun too!

I love penguins so much! I totally got into them more since Happy Feet. I got plushies and the soundtrack. The little ones are soooo cute and squishy! I felt so bad to be a human at the end of the movie tho.. March of the Penguins was so amazing! It was heartbreaking for the mommies who came back to find out their mates lost the eggs. Then there are those funny ones from Madagascar! Very cool that they even got their own TV show. XD

(cue Cookie Monster’s voice) Mmmm, me love cookies..!

      Hey Carmela!

Hehe, I’m glad you had fun reading my little story. I love playing the villain…in stories! πŸ˜›

Mmm…gummy bears. I love those and gummy worms, too. Candies geared towards children are the best – so colourful and fun to eat.

Happy Feet was so cute! Hmm…I think that I still haven’t seen March of the Penguins. (I’m the last person on Earth who hasn’t seen it.)

      Hey LimitedAddictionNails!

Okay, to be completely honest, I ate 2 before I decided to photograph these 2. So I had 4 in total. *Oink oink* They were really tasty! (Mary, the evil queen of Yumsville, really is blood-thirsty. :P)

      Hey mellinail!

Aww…thank you! πŸ˜€ I love writing in many different styles. It’s my true passion that’s even above my love for nail polish.

If you pick these up, please let me know what you think of them. I may try them with the PC Pumpkin Pie ice cream just to put it over the top.

I didn’t know you were canadian! I’m not a big fan of banana bread, but that is extremely cute. It’s funny because I just finished watching Happy Feet.
