I’m not a fan of cranberry in general except when it’s in a tart sauce on top of turkey. So imagine my surprise when I randomly picked up this candle several times in the store and liked how it smelled!
(Yes, I’m that person who walks into Bath & Body Works and literally pops open 15 candles and sniffs the wax.)
Then Bath & Body Works had an online sale, so I felt compelled to finally purchase the Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cranberry Candle!
So what did I think of this winter candle when I burned it? There’s only one way to find out!

Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cranberry Candle Review
Fragrance
When they say ‘sparkling’, they weren’t making that up. I get a distinct ‘sparkling’, lively scent that’s bright. I could smell some tartness from the cranberry and the raspberry, but combined with the sweet strawberry scent, it was an interesting balance.
Slatkin & Co. claims that there’s ‘juicy peach’ – I can detect it slightly. It’s very much like a fuzzy-peach scent. I really enjoy how it adds a little something to the overall fragrance.
Now, I’m not normally a fan of strawberry scents. Usually I find them very artificial, and they tend to give me terrible headaches. The Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cranberry Candle definitely has an artificial-strawberry aroma, but it didn’t give me a headache, surprisingly! It must be the combination of it with the other fruits.
After smelling this candle burning for a long time, I have to say that while I like the scent, I don’t love it. But the only reason I don’t love it is because the strawberry note is as strong as the cranberry. If you love strawberry scents, you’re going to be over the moon for this one! It’s a nice little twist on your usual strawberry fragrance.
Scent Throw
The Frosted Cranberry Candle by Slatkin & Co. has a very impressive scent throw. Within just a few minutes of burning it, I could already easily detect the fragrance. And after leaving it to burn even for just one hour, it completely filled my living room.
This is not a light fragrance, so I’d recommend that you use it in large areas so that the scent isn’t too overwhelming.
Burning
I’m pleased to report that the Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cranberry scented candle burned evenly – i.e. there was no tunnelling, which can contribute to wasted wax.
Also, the flames burned strongly. Looks like I got a good one – no drowning wicks! Yay! 🙂
Seasonal Availability
The Frosted Cranberry scent is a recurring winter scent, so it will most likely return next year.

Final Verdict: 7/10
The Frosted Cranberry Candle by Slatkin & Co. had an impressive scent throw and a fun, bright fragrance. If they toned down the strawberry a bit, I think I would’ve enjoyed this more. Overall, I think this is a very different candle scent than the usual kind I’ve tried, so I’m happy to have it in my collection.
Are you a fan of cranberries? What’s the best scented candle you’ve ever used? Do you stock up on candles whenever Bath & Body Works has a sale?
When my mom and I were at Bath and Body Works, my mom ended up buying two of these candles and 2 candle holders. We never lit the candles yet so I don’t know for sure what to expect.
Hey maddy!
When you burn them, let me know what you think of them. 🙂 Hopefully you love it – well, if you like the cranberry-strawberry combination, you will.
My friend and I just went shopping at BB&W. She bought this Cranberry candle & the buttered rum scent. I love the Fall scent leaves & the chocolate chip cookie candle. I didn’t purchase any candles but now I have a coupon so I’m thinking of going back and purchasing two. 🙂

Hey PinkGlitter!
Mmm…Leaves is one of my favourite scented candles by Slatkin & Co.! And Homemade Cookies is so delicious-smelling.
They really know how to get us, don’t they? They keep coming out with a wide variety of interesting scents and then they have great sales all the time. Makes it hard to stop buying their candles! 😉
Why is it that every single time you review a candle from B&BW it makes me want to run to the nearest shop and grab one myself? Hahaha! 🙂 I still haven’t taken the plunge but I might soon. These kinds of posts keep pushing me closer tho. 😉 I HAVE turned into that lady who walks into the store and sniffs at all of the candles, waving away any helpful salesperson with a “I’m just browsing”. *sigh* There’s so much good ones though that I can’t decide on just one! Any recommendations?
PS. I’m not a fan of cranberries at all. But the peach+raspberry+strawberry mix thrown in makes this very intriguing, indeed!

Hey Carmela!
Seriously…hehe, Slatkin & Co. come out with so many scents – you’re bound to fall in love with at least one! After that, there’s no turning back. At least that was the case for me. Now I’m a Slatkin & Co. candle junkie.
Oh, I have so many recommendations, but it depends on what kind of scents you prefer? Fruity? Bakery? Fresh? Green?
My all-time favourites are Frosted Cupcake (it’s this really sweet, heavy cake-batter fragrance), Homemade Cookies (smells just like freshly baked cookies – lighter scent than Frosted Cupcake, but still noticeable), and Leaves (super strong and basically like fall in a candle – apple, spice, etc.)
Ohmigoodness. As if I really need another candle. *sighs and heads to BathAndBodyWorks.com*

Hey Brittany!
Hahahaha – you sound like me! I ‘hide’ my candle collection in my closet for fear that if the average person sees it, they’ll think I’m nuts. Is it wrong to be addicted to scented candles? While I think about it, I should light one to relax me. 😉
lol I’m also the lady who goes into B&BW and smells every. single. candle. I just can’t help myself. I typically don’t like cranberry scents which is why I’ve always passed this one up in the store. I should give it a sniff this season.

Hey Joann!
They’re just so tempting, aren’t they? And even when I know what specific candles smell like (because I have them), I’ll still smell them again in the store.
If you smell this one, let me know what you think. Maybe it’ll surprise you, too. The strawberry makes the cranberry better.
mmm this sounds like one I would like. I havent seen it at my Bath and Body works… they sell out of the good ones quickly. leaves is always first to go too! I am the one who walks in the store goes right to the candles smells 15 too… while handing them to my husband yelling MMM SMELL THIS ONE! hahaha!

Hey Amber!
Yeah, Leaves is amazing – those fly off the shelves, but my local store overstocks that scent, so I’ve never seen it sell out yet even though it’s so popular.
Hehe, after reading everyone’s comments, it seems like it’s stranger to go into the store and NOT sniff a bunch of candle! 😉
Have you tried the Cranberry Pear Bellini? That is one of my wallflower favs! I also like this Frosted Cranberry, but I found others that I loved more at the time of the sale. Maybe for their semi-annual sale after Christmas I will pick one of these up!
Hey DJ!
No, I haven’t tried that candle yet. And I’ve never tried any of their Wallflowers, either.
I’m so excited for their semi-annual sale! 🙂 I’m holding off on buying anything until then.
Why does this frosted cranberry gives me so much headache – any clues? My wife likes it and enjoys it, and I don’t want to take away from her frangrant experience. What do you think or know about this? Thanks.
Hey Coping!
It could be that it has notes of strawberry. I’m the same way. Some strawberry scents give me a terrible headache. Oddly, though, this one doesn’t give me one, which is also why I like it. 🙂
Hmm…I don’t think your wife would want to continue burning the candle if you’re suffering because of it. Maybe go to the store and choose a candle together that suits both of you. After all, you both have to breathe the same air. It’s not fair for you to have to always get a headache when she burns the candle.
