When it comes to candles that smell edible, I’m a sucker. So it should come as no surprise that I bought the Slatkin & Co. Apple Crumble Candle from Bath & Body Works.
Since we’re approaching fall, I’m craving apple, pumpkin, and spicy scents.
The Apple Crumble scented Slatkin & Co. candle fits the bill nicely when it comes to an apple scent that isn’t too strong or tart.
I’ve only ever had an apple crumble a few times, so I can’t say how dead-on the fragrance is. What I will say is that it is all kinds of delicious!

Slatkin & Co. Apple Crumble Candle Review
Fragrance
To me, this smells like an apple dessert. You can smell the tart apples, but it’s not overpowering or headache-inducing like a full-on apple scent is sometimes. I think it’s because there’s a slight sweet note that blends with the tartness that softens it. And the scent is punctuated with cinnamon and nutmeg, which is oh-so-delicious!
Scent Throw
Considering that I was testing out one of the mini (trial-sized) candles, I obviously didn’t expect it to perform like its momma, the large 14.5-oz., 3-wick version. But I was pleasantly surprised that even though it was small, it provided a decent scent throw. It lightly fragranced a very small room.
To get the heart of the scent, though, I found that I had to take a whiff of it directly above the candle, but that’s because this is the itty bitty version.
Burning
Another great surprise. The flame burned strong for hours. Now, I realize that this tiny candle isn’t meant to be burned for many hours (like the large candle), but I guess I just forgot and let it burn, baby!
I burned it for over 3 hours straight, and the flame was just as strong from the beginning until I blew it out. I also noticed that the wax burned cleanly and evenly, which means that there won’t be wasted wax from tunneling. Yay! 🙂
Packaging
I like the small packaging just because it looks cute. Also, it’s great for if you just want to test a scent without committing to a larger version.
The label on the front features a yummy apple-crumble dessert that looks like someone baked it in a muffin cup. It’s a sweet design.
Seasonal Availability
This is a new fall scent that came out recently. It’s probably only going to be available for a limited time, so if you like it, you should grab it in the larger size while you still can. I have no idea if they’ll bring it back next year.

Final Verdict: 8/10
I like this scent because it has that delicious apple fragrance expertly woven with a touch of sweetness and spice that reminds me of freshly baked desserts and of fall. When the 3-wick candles go on sale, I’ll probably pick one up in this scent. 🙂
What are your favourite apple desserts to eat? Do you also go gaga over apple-and-spice fragrances? Do you like the smell of green apples or red apples better?
I have the big 3 wick of this scent and I love it. It smells sooo good. It’s definitely one of my favorites. Leaves is my all time fav. I LOVE that scent!
Hey Barb!
I’m waiting anxiously for the 3-wick candle sale to stock up on a bunch of scents…including this one! Hope it’s soon. I only have the mini version of Apple Crumble, which smells great, but the large one would definitely be way better.
Oh yeah, Leaves was actually the first candle that got me into Slatkin & Co. candles and heck even candles in general! I love it so much – totally like fall in a candle! But I think my all-time favourite from Slaktin & Co. is their Frosted Cupcake. Smells edible and so realistic. The Leaves candle is second, but only by a sliver! Also depends on my mood.
