Mother Nature went easy on us this year. Even though I’m a Canadian, I never look forward to brutal winters.
I remember one year, the temperature dipped below -40 degrees Celsius, but that wasn’t the norm. If it was, I’d pack my bags faster than you could say, “Toe socks!” 😉
Although this winter, we hardly saw snow or Mr. Freeze temperatures, I still wanted to arm myself with a new night moisturizer to combat any dryness from the changing temperature.
The Shiseido The Skincare Night Moisture Recharge Enriched came to the rescue like a caped crusader on a mission to hydrate pesky villains!
It kept my skin looking and feeling soft. This is my Holy Grail night moisturizer! I just wish it weren’t so expensive…phew!
(A huge thank you goes out to Carmela from Polished Indulgence. She was nice enough to let me know about the warehouse sale where they were selling this at a discounted price.)

Shiseido The Skincare Night Moisture Recharge Enriched Review
Fragrance
I really dislike strong fragrances in skincare, especially when I’m using the product directly on my face and can smell the scent for longer.
While the Shiseido night moisturizer does have a scent, it’s light and pleasant. It’s a very soft floral fragrance that doesn’t give me a headache. It’s very calming, which is appropriate since you use this before going to bed.
Consistency
I just adore the consistency of this Shiseido night moisturizer because it’s almost like a gel, but somehow it’s rich despite being thin. I’ve never tried anything like it before!
You only need a small amount to get the job done, which is good because the Shiseido The Skincare Night Moisture Recharge is expensive! (More on that later.)
I usually only need to apply about 2-peas-worth of product to cover my entire face with a good layer. It feels wonderful on your skin – you can tell immediately that it’s working.
How Well Does It Hydrate?
It hydrates like a champion! 🙂 I’m very pleased with this. I’ve been using it for quite a while now, and I stand behind this product!
If my skin feels slightly dry before I go to bed and I put this stuff on, when I wake up, my face feels supple and healthy in the morning. It’s like magic!
My skin actually tends to be pretty soft to begin with, but after using this Shiseido night-time moisturizer, I actually noticed that it felt even softer. 😀
Is It Greasy?
When you first apply it, you may think it’s greasy, but it’s not. You just have to work it into your skin for a little bit. It doesn’t take too long before it absorbs, and then it doesn’t feel slick.
Is It Worth the High Price Tag?
Well, I bought it for much less because my friend was kind enough to pick it up for me from a warehouse sale, but I’m willing to pay the full retail price for it if I have to. Why? Plain and simple – it works, and it works fast! I think that investing in good skincare is worth it.
Packaging
Normally, when you buy this, it comes in a cardboard box, along with instructions for how to use it. But since this was from a warehouse sale, it came without a box, which is also why I wasn’t able to provide you with the list of ingredients. (If I repurchase this at full price instead of getting it from a warehouse sale, I’ll be sure to photograph the ingredients and edit this post.)
The tub itself feels really sturdy and simple, but I’m really not fond of having to dip my finger directly into the product. That being said, I always make sure to wash my hands with anti-bacterial soap prior to using this to decrease the amount of contamination.

Final Verdict: 10/10
I’ve been looking for an effective night-time moisturizer, and this is the best one that I’ve ever come across. I can see myself sticking with this for many years. 🙂
What moisturizer do you use at night? What Shiseido products would you recommend I try? Have you ever worn toe socks? (I haven’t.)
Woohoo! I *knew* you were going to love the moisturizers. 🙂 I had such a stellar experience with them myself that I was pretty sure it would work wonders for you, as well. I have to agree, though. Good skincare products are something I will willingly splurge on. Proactive prevention trumps damage control in my books. So happy you’re enjoying it! 😀
Btw, are you still up to checking out the warehouse sale for spring/summer? They might have it end of April or early May if I remember correctly. Anyway, I’ll let you know once I get wind of it.

Hey Carmela!
Thank you again for picking this and the other moisturizer up for me. I’m enjoying them so much, and I’m curious about other Shiseido products now because of my positive experience so far. 🙂
My budget is tighter than hipster pants right now, but…I’m interested in that warehouse sale. The prices are crazy! Yes, please let me know the details!
