Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around Swatches & Review

Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around Swatches & ReviewRescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around from the Emoting Me Collection is one of the most unique nail polishes I have come across in quite a long time.

Green lacquer is my comfort colour, and swampy greens such as this make me feel like the Frog Prince who got his kiss from the princess. (Can you see my heart beating?) *Ribbit Ribbit*

Turn It Around is absolutely stunning because the green base and copper/rosy shimmer look slightly different, depending on the lighting.

This is one of my new treasures, and I have nothing like this in my stash of 600+ bottles of nail polish!

Good job, Rescue Beauty Lounge, for taking a risk and putting out a nail polish that’s a leader instead of a follower!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around Review

Colour

Earthy greens are an interesting twist on the popular neutral nail – there’s an edgy spin. I really dig how Turn It Around by Rescue Beauty Lounge is a show-stopper without being flashy.

The mossy green is swampy, which I like because it allows the copper shimmer to stand out more. It’s an interesting contrast. You would think that both shades would compete with each other, but instead, they do a Give and Take for a fiery dance on your nails in the sunlight!

Also, the copper shimmer looks slightly orange like a penny, but in some lighting conditions and angles, it took on a rosy twist. I thought this was a neat surprise that you don’t see often!

Finish

Turn It Around by Rescue Beauty Lounge has a shimmery finish. It twinkles just enough when you look at it in certain lighting, but it’s not a disco ball. It’s like a more grown-up, fashion-editorial version of a shimmery polish. Very unique!

Application & Formula

The formula was perfect – it went on smoothly and evenly. I didn’t have to put in too much effort to apply it. The polish went where I wanted it to, and I only need 2 medium coats for full opacity. Well, even with a single medium coat provided great coverage, but the minimum number of coats I wear is 2 out of habit.

Price

Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polishes aren’t cheap. I consider them to be luxuries because, at $20 USD a pop, they’re certainly investments, at least for my financial situation.

Although they’re not the most affordable, what I enjoy a lot about Rescue Beauty Lounge is that they regularly take colour risks, and they bring to market combinations that you don’t see often. That, coupled with the high-end look of the bottles themselves, is worth splurging on.

Turn It Around is a very unique colour, so I think it’s worth the high price tag. (I wouldn’t be able to justify a red creme at this price, but for swampy green with copper? Hells to the yeah!) 😉

Pros

  • Very unique colour combination (swampy green & copper/rosy shimmer)
  • Formula applies smoothly

Cons

  • Expensive (but, considering the colour is unique & the packaging is luxurious, it’s worth the splurge!)

Final Verdict: 10/10

Haha, it probably comes as no surprise to any of my loyal readers that I gave this green nail polish a perfect score and even marked it as “Holy Grail Status”! 😉

This is such an interesting nail polish to me, and especially since there are so many lacquer companies out there putting out stunning colours, it can be hard for someone to put out a unique hue. Rescue Beauty Lounge managed to do something different! I acknowledge that difficult feat and commend them on it! Hats off to you! 🙂

What’s the most interesting or unique nail polish you’ve ever worn or seen? If you started your own lacquer company, what would be the first colour you’d create? What was your biggest nail-polish splurge?

Edit: Yay! Rescue Beauty Lounge retweeted my blog post, tweeted to thank me, and favourited my tweet! 🙂 I’m over the moon!

      Hey Norma!

Yes, it’s a limited-edition shade! Definitely snatch it up if you’re interested. Sometimes they bring back beloved shades, but we can’t bank on it!

      Hey Icequeen81!

In person, the glitter is more orange, and I think you’d really enjoy it! It’s so interesting and different, which is refreshing for nailphiles who have ‘seen it all’. Hehe! 😉
