In the Wizard of Oz, the Tin Man gets a heart-shaped pocket watch. If there was a Tin Woman, she should’ve received the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush (Rose).
Look at all the different hearts you get in the pan. How could you not fall in love with it? It’s practically whispering, “Take me home!”
Okay, maybe that’s a little creepy, but this Physicians Formula blush was certainly calling my name. And naturally, I obliged.
Say Happy Valentine’s Day to yourself early, and treat yourself to this gorgeous pink blush.
I’m in love with it, but did Cupid’s arrow get you yet?

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush Rose Review
There are lookers, and then there are stars. The Physicians Formula Rose blush is the best of both worlds. Ever since I bought it, I keep admiring it on my armoire. It’s not often that you find a blush with a beautiful heart pattern.
Packaging
The packaging is the perfect size – not too big and not too small. While you’d think this would be great for throwing in your purse, I would advise against it (only if you use the brush it comes with). Why? There are holes on the bottom of the compartment that holds the blush brush. The blush powder could fall out these holes and dirty your purse.
The Physicians Formula Happy Booster rose blush has a transparent dome-shaped lid (with a single silver heart) because you’ll no doubt be staring at this beauty often. The rest of the casing is a chrome hot pink that’s wonderfully girly yet fierce.
Lift up the blush itself, and on the underside is a small round mirror, which is perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. And in the bottom compartment is a small flat brush with duo-toned bristles (pink and red, of course!). It comes wrapped in clear plastic to protect it, and to help keep its shape until you crack this baby open.
Brush & Application
Even though the brush is really cute, I didn’t use it to apply the Physicians Formula blush in Rose because I find that those types of brushes don’t achieve the look I like. I much prefer to use my MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush (aka the stippling ‘skunk’ brush) since it prevents me from looking like I was teleported back to the 1980s. And I sweep over all the hearts, but I guess you could sweep over certain colors if you want it to be more pink or more champagne.
Color & Texture
The Physicians Formula Happy Booster blush in Rose offers the perfect natural color. It give your cheeks a cute flush of healthy pink that also wakes your whole face up. When I’ve been looking slightly tired or pale, I put a little on the apples of my cheeks for an instant pick-me-up.
Another thing I must mention is that this blush is highly pigmented. You really only need a little, and it goes the distance! This is great because it means that even though Physicians Formula cosmetics are one of the pricier drugstore makeup brands, at least you’re getting good value.
The texture of the blush itself is very silky and soft. It glided on my skin effortlessly, and I didn’t need to buff it to make it look natural. Just a few quick stipples, and a few sweeps up my cheekbones, and I was good to go.
If you scroll back up and look at the zoomed-in photo I took of the blush, you’ll notice that there aren’t any large chunks of glitter. Even if you’re like Lionel Richie and go all night long, don’t worry about looking like a disco ball. It has microshimmer, which makes the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush suitable for daytime wear as well as nighttime wear.
Lasting Power
This blush lasted all through my 8-hour workday. It may have faded just a smidgen, but otherwise, it truly looked as good as it did when I applied it in the morning as it did when I was getting ready to leave work in the evening. This impressed me, especially considering how little product I needed to use.
Fragrance
I was surprised to notice a slight fragrance in this product. Most Physicians Formula cosmetics claim to be 100% fragrance free and safe for those with sensitive skin. If you have exceptionally sensitive skin, I suggest steering clear of anything with fragrance. I had no problems with it, and it smelled mildly of violets or roses (not sure if this was because of the suggestive product name that influenced my senses).
If you put your nose close to the product, you’ll smell the fragrance, but when wearing the blush, you won’t smell it at all…At least I couldn’t. Then again, I do wear perfume daily, so that could’ve overpowered the scent of this blush.
Mood Boosting Claims
Now for the claim that Physicians Formula makes about this boosting your mood. I’ve been feeling down in the dumps for the last couple of weeks, so I thought this would be a good time to test this product claim. Okay, I feel happy looking at the pretty hearts and seeing my cheeks rosy and healthy, but it’s not like I sweep this on and I’m grinning ear-to-ear like a psycho puppet. So that claim is just a marketing gimmick.

Final Verdict: 10/10
They really hit it out of the park with this blush. I’m actually thinking about going back to buy the blush in Natural, too. Hopefully they still have one left!
And, if you’re a Canadian, I suggest checking out Shoppers Drug Mart for this because there’s an on-pack $6 mail-in rebate that’ll help you save a little more. Now, I’m not sure if this rebate is exclusive to the Physicians formula blushes Shoppers Drug Mart carries, so if any Swatch And Learn readers have seen it at other drugstores, please let everyone know.
