During the past couple of days here, there has been a cold-weather warning in effect, but at least my nails got an early taste of spring and summer with the OPI New Orleans Collection! (To see the OPI New Orleans Collection press release that I posted earlier, which contains the official colour story, click on the above link.)
Feast your eyes on a rainbow buffet composed of hues in a wide range from a posh periwinkle and vibrant violet to a captivating coral and beautiful blue.
My initial impression is that, for the most part, the formula on these is good and needed 2-3 coats to achieve full opacity.
The ones that took my breath away with the finished result were Got Myself into a Jam-balaya, I’m Sooo Swamped!, She’s a Bad Muffuletta!, Show Us Your Tips!, and Rich Girls & Po-Boys.
In this post, you can see bottle shots, which are really fun to look at. I love seeing them side-by-side, and I hope you do, too!
Also included are larger images of each swatch for a quick overview of the collection. However, to get an in-depth look at them, stay tuned for my detailed one-colour-per-post reviews that showcase several swatch photos in different lighting conditions and my thoughts on the formula. (I won’t be reviewing all of the colours in-depth, but I’ll do a few for the ones I wear as full manicures.)

Which are your top picks from the OPI New Orleans Collection? Have you ever been to New Orleans? Which colour here screams spring and summer to you the most?
I’m loving these colors. I have 2 of them already and plan on buying more next pay day. Thanks for sharing the swatches with us. They’re all so pretty!!!
Hey Melissa!
It’s my pleasure! Thank you for checking out my swatches. I love sharing them! 🙂
I’m not normally into spring collections but I want every polish from this one! I don’t think I have any polishes like these in my stash, I’m Sooo Swamped and Humidi-tea are my number 1 picks
Hey Michaela!
Sounds like OPI did a slam dunk for you! Yes, this collection really calls out to me, too. Such interesting shades this year!
Wow!!!! Based on thumbnails I was not expecting to be super impressed by this collection, they looked like retreads of colors we’ve seen plenty of. But man, I was wrong! I mean yeah, these are in the neighborhood of popular colors but honestly a bunch of these surprised me by being hues that I’ve never *quite* seen before. I definitely need to pick up Humidi-tea and maybe one or two others.
Hey Fedoraharp!
Yeah, larger photos reveal the interesting nuances of a polish. (That’s why when other bloggers post macro shots, I drool over them. It’s like art!) The collage is nice mainly just for an overview.
I’m having fun doing these quick swatches of full collections!
Humidi-Tea is a horse of a different colour, so to speak, and Show Us Your Tips! is very pretty. There’s a good variety of shades in the collection, so I feel that there’s something to suit most people’s taste.
Would you say I’m So Swamped is a straight green cream or do you think it leans more olive?
Hey Norma!
I would say that it’s a standard green, and it does not look like it leans olive in the bottle or on my nails. Hope that helps!
Love this collection! The colors are really my thing, so to say. So much, that I pretty much have a dupe for every one of them haha… So I don’t think I’ll be buyinh anything from this collection, except for maybe Show us your tips (I’m a sucker for blues with shimmers) but I think I’ll take a pass on the rest of the polishes.
But OPI did a wonderfull job on this collection: colors look great together, really have that spring feeling and lots of variation.
Lovely swatches 🙂
Hey Renee!
Lucky you that you have dupes. You can save some money! 😉 (You have great taste in polish!)
Good decision about Show Us Your Tips! That one is really beautiful – easily one of my favourites in this collection.
Yes, I agree with you that OPI did a good job this time. The colours work nicely together, and they really are reminiscent of warm weather!
Oh my. Now I really think I will be purchasing the entire collection – wow. Might need to put my Julep sub on hold for several months lol.
Hey Holly!
Hehe, I know exactly how you feel. OPI really hit it out of the park with the assortment of colours in this collection! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by to check out my swatches!
I love, love the Crawfishin’ and Show us Your Tips ! I had no idea about this collection, I’ll have to keep my eye out for them…So nice! And nice review, thanks!!
