Green and I are tight. We go everywhere together. We watch each other’s back. We are in mad love.
So when I saw that the OPI Hawaii Collection had not one, but two green nail polishes, my heart palpitated a little. Scratch that. It started crunking – that’s how happy it was! 😉
Since I couldn’t choose just one for a manicure, I decided to do an easy Green Dotticure featuring OPI My Gecko Does Tricks and OPI That’s Hula-rious!, which are both from the OPI Hawaii Collection for Spring/Summer 2015. (Click here to see my OPI Hawaii Collection Media Launch Recap post!)
This is such a simple nail design that I whipped up very quickly, and it’s what I wore to the Contessa 2014 Awards.
If your schedule is as busy as mine is and you’re trying to juggle a million things at once, this nail art is for you. It’s fuss-free, and all it consists of are dots arranged in two vertical lines. Easy, effective, and simple to replicate! 🙂

Which do you prefer – OPI My Gecko Does Tricks or OPI That’s Hula-rious!? Is there a nail-art design that you’d like to see me attempt? What other shades from the OPI Hawaii Collection would you like to see me blog about?
I’m loving these colors and the design is so simple and gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Now I have to buy these colors. They’re calling my name.
Hey Melissa!
Hehe, you’ll make a very good polish mommy for them! 😉
I totally confirm my love for That’s Hula-rious here. Totally obsessed about it! 🙂

Hey Carla!
It’s so creamy – streaky on the initial coat, but you can smooth it out and make it more opaque with multiple coats. It’s a very fresh and clean green!
I. Want. These.
(and I have to wait until at least February for them to be released… 🙁 )

Hey Joyce!
They’re worth the wait! And hey, at least in the meantime, you can dream up all the fun designs you can create with them! (There’s always a silver lining, but in this case, a green lining. Hehe!) 😉
hello 🙂
Thank you very much for sharing
Do you know id the Green nail polish from the coca cola collection ( Green on the run away ) is really diferent, is it worth it to have both ( my favorite color is Green ) please ? Can We have a Swatch if you have both please?
What about the other light Green of this collection…I read the texture was a million time betteR Then Gargantuan Green Grape…but that the color is very similar…what about if I put the white base from the neon collection before GGG would not be enought to save me some money or are they really diferent ?
Thank you.
Hey Barbara!
Yes, OPI Green on the Runway is different enough to justify having both My Gecko Does Tricks. The former is much darker. (I’ve done an in-depth review of OPI Green on the Runway with lots of swatches: http://www.swatchandlearn.com/opi-green-on-the-runway-swatches-review) You’ll be able to see how it’s much darker.
That’s Hula-rious! is pretty streaky, and I needed three coats to achieve full opacity. (Stay tuned later this week because I’ve scheduled a full in-depth review with lots of swatches of that one!)
Hmm…a white base might make Gargantuan Green Grape similar enough, but if it’s a dead-on dupe? I’m not sure. That would make a great comparison post. If I can find my bottle of it, I’ll do the comparison.
I adore your manicures! This one looks great. I love the darker green – My Gecko Does Tricks is beautiful.
Hey Pia!
Aww, thank you! 🙂 I love experimenting with different colours and designs. Thanks for looking!
I am definitely getting this green. I love green and this is like frog green. Perfect! I love the dotticure and line of dots but I must make this into Kermit the Frog. I used to have a Kermit the Frog plushie.
Hey Cindi!
Hehe, yes, it’s like frog green. RIBBIT! RIBBIT! 😉
Your Kermit plush toy sounds really cute!
this is right up my ally. A simple gorgeous design. Love those shades of green.
Hey Christine!
Thanks! 🙂 I had fun wearing this, and dotticures are great for when you don’t have time, but you still want to do something fun!
Perfect for St patricks day!
Hey Alicia!
Hehe, I’d wear green anytime! And on St. Patrick’s Day, the more green, the better, that’s for sure! 😉
Thanks for this quick and easy tutorial 🙂
Hey Sab!
So happy that you checked out my nail art! THANK YOU!
Simple and fun!
Hey Breda!
I love doing simple nail designs. You don’t need to do something intricate to really enjoy it and to make a statement. 🙂 Glad you agree!
