OPI Glow Up Already! Swatches & Review

OPI Glow Up Already SwatchesCreme-finish polishes look sophisticated, but sometimes you want your nails to get all the attention. Sometimes you want to compete with the disco ball. And sometimes you want to make drag queens jealous.

OPI Glow Up Already! fits the bill because it’s so blingy. This glitter polish may look like your standard green, but when you take a closer look at your nails, you’ll see that it’s more complex and unique than that.

What I like about it is that you can use it as a top coat (like what I did here), or you can apply more than one coat to achieve greater opacity. This is a versatile polish that wakes up any boring creme polish with just enough razzle dazzle!

OPI Glow Up Already! Review

Glittery polishes like OPI Glow Up Already! make me happy. There’s just something so fun and energetic about seeing the light reflect off tons of little particles on your nails. It’s eye-catching, and you’ll find yourself glancing down at your fingertips often.

From far away, it looks like a greenish gold glitter. Look closely and you’ll see light green, gold, silver, pink, blue, and orange in the mix. It’s like a mosaic as one of my guy friends said.

And while some glitter nail polishes are sparse, OPI Glow Up Already! is heavily packed with glitter. This means you can use it as a top coat to jazz up a polish that needs some help (like what I did over OPI Who the Shrek Are You?, which I previously reviewed) or you can fully cover your nail with glitter by adding several coats.

Glitter nail polish is also great if you’re concerned about ridges on your nails. They disguise any imperfections easily, and they also dry very quickly so you’ll be done your manicure in a jiffy.

OPI Glow Up Already! has a medium-thick consistency, but it’s easy to work with. You won’t have to worry about it being too runny or so thick that it seems to dry on the brush.

One major disadvantage with wearing dense glitter polishes is the labor-intensive removal. It takes patience, and yes, it may be a little messy. But I find that they wear like iron – must be the little pieces that adhere to the nail stronger.

Be sure to slick on a thick top coat because OPI Glow Up Already! nail polish dries gritty. If that doesn’t bother you, and you actually like a textured manicure, just leave it.

Pros

  • Super sparkly glitter polish
  • Versatile (can be worn as a top coat or full-coverage polish)
  • Dries quickly
  • Easy to apply
  • No DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde
Cons

  • Dries gritty (requires thick top coat to smooth it out)
  • Requires extra effort to remove

Final Verdict: 7/10

Do you enjoy wearing glitter nail polish? If so, what’s your current favorite? Or do you think that the removal is too much of a hassle and isn’t worth the trouble?
