The OPI Germany Collection is set to drop this August!
As a whole, the collection looks really editorial, so I’m digging it.
The display is pretty cool with all those boxed sections – very modern.
Out of all the colours, I’m most looking forward to German-icure by OPI, Every Month is Oktoberfest, Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue, Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs, Berlin There Done That, and Deutsche You Want Me Baby. (Yeah, that’s half of the collection! I like Don’t Talk Bach to Me, but I don’t think it would work with my skin tone.)
Haha, the names for a lot of these shades are very creative! đ
There are 12 colours in the OPI Germany Collection:
- Don’t Pretzel My Buttons
- My Very First Knockwurst
- Berlin There Done That
- Donât Talk Bach to Me
- Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!
- Unfor-greta-bly Blue
- Every Month is Oktoberfest
- Suzi & the 7 DĂŒsseldorfs
- Deutsch You Want Me Baby?
- Danke-Shiny Red
- German-icure by OPI
- Schnapps Out of It!
Here’s the official press release sent to me by PR:
OPI Launches the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012
OPI embraces runway trends with the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012. Drawing inspiration from Berlin, an exciting new fashion hub that blends classic looks with the avant-garde, the collectionâs twelve shades offer a mixture of vibrant color, urban-chic neutrals, and reds in variations from light to dark.
âDesigners showcased rich colors and striking textures for fall,â explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. âThe Germany Collection beautifully complements these looks, with standout shades in various hues of red and burgundy â the seasonâs ânew black.â Sapphire, black olive and lime yellow are married with creamy neutrals in honey, taupe and nude rose.â
âThe overall feel of the Germany Collection is elegance with an edge,â adds Suzi. âThe varied palette of colors adds another accent to the list of special touches â think beadwork, paneling, fur and embroidery â that walked the runways during New York Fashion Week. Wearing these shades on fingers and toes is a great way to accessorize a range of looks for the season.â

Which shades are calling out your name? Have you ever been to Germany?
Whoo! So excited! I’m liking many of these colors. Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! Seems like it might be nice in person. Unfor-greta-bly Blue looks like it’ll be a favorite of mine. Every Month is Oktoberfest and Suzi & the 7 DĂŒsseldorfs seems like they will be pretty. Deutsch You Want Me Baby? and Danke-Shiny Red look pretty. German-icure by OPI will probably be another one of my favorites. I want 7! That’s a lot considering I skipped the whole Holland collection. These polishes look so interesting!

Hey Brianna!
For sure, German-icure also looks like it’ll be my hands-down favourite, too! đ
Okay, so I’m not the only person who walks many shades from this collection. Can’t wait to see them in person.
OMG!!!!!!! You just got me sooo excited for this collection! My favorites are the same as yours and Danke-Shiny Red. I love how they look so shimmery and glittery.
Hey maddy!
Yay! It’s been a while since I’ve heard from you, so you got me so excited just by leaving a sweet comment. đ
Other than Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine, I feel like “Berlin There Done That” with all the others.
(Sorry, I â„ puns)
Hey The KnitMaster!
Hahahahahaaha! You crack me up! (I’m a pun lover, too, so I appreciated your joke.)
Hi Mary
I’m really looking forward to 4 of these shades. Of course I can’t wait to see swatches of the new colors. Right now I’m all cought up on the nail polish I’ve been wanting. So I’m really. really, looking forward to this new collection. By the way, I bought the 3 minnie mouse colors. I didn’t by the pink, If you Moust, you Moust. So glad I bought the rest and I also bought the China Glaze’s I’m with The Lifeguard. It’s an awesome neon green. I don’t have any like this and I’m really in love with it. Can’t wait to see you swatced for this collection. Awesome job as always. Have a great weekend. :~)
Hey Melissa!
I’ll be reviewing and photographing a few from this collection – so excited! đ
Did you wear any of the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse colours yet? What did you think of them? Oh, and good choice with China Glaze I’m with the Lifeguard – awesome neon green. I may still buy it if I can track it down.
Hope you also have a wonderful weekend! Any plans?
Hey Mary,
Right now I’m wearing OPI I’m all ears, The color of Minnie, Nothin’ Mousie ’bout it, Simmer & Shimmer and China Glaze’s I’m with the Lifeguard. I’ll take a pick and send it to you. No planes, just spending the weeend with my daughters and just relaxing. Good luck with finding I’m with the lifeguard, it was just by chance that Ulta had it in. :~)
Cool – can’t wait to see them on your nails. đ
I’m with the Lifeguard was a huge hit, so I’ll be lucky if I can find it!
I’m liking Berlin There Done That and Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!
Hey Kinsey!
Seems like a lot of people are liking Nein Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! Wonder what it’ll look like in person.
I’m expecting something like a combination of Suzi Skis in the Pyreneese and Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow. Either way, I’m excited to find out!

We’ll see soon enough! đ
Hmmm…I think I’m with you on Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs, Unfor-Greta-bly Blue, and Every Month is Oktoberfest! I love rich jewel tones for fall. I’m also interested in My Very First Knockwurst–I’m hunting for a pinky nude that will match my skintone and maybe this will be The One. Although I do have to say, in spite of the 3 different neutral shades, I’m pretty impressed with this overall collection–only one red and no (true) pinks!
Hey Jessica!
The nude shades look nice, but I haven’t quite figured out how to choose the right kind. Seems like I’m more comfortable with bold, contrassting colours on my nails. Light nudes actually make me feel self-conscious! Haha, weird, right?
YES, an OPI collection that isn’t laden with reds and pinks! Haha, they must be listening to us! đ
looking forward to swatches thats for sure, as of right now I like the looks of Donât Talk Bach to Me, Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! & Suzi & the 7 DĂŒsseldorfs. As most people know OPI promo shots are terrible representation of the actual colour… so I may want more đ

Hey Karen!
Yeah, promo pictures very rarely do their colours any justice. I wonder why they don’t just take photos of the actual bottles…Maybe they come out with the computer renderings before the actual formulas are mixed and refined? :S No idea.
Oh, I’m so excited to try some of these shades out. And, of course, I’ll have to share my manicures and thoughts on them with you all. đ
The only 2 that get my attention are Germanicure and Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs. The others just strike me as being colors that I’ve seen before in other collections. I’ve never been to Germany, but I doubt that’s the reason I’m not feeling this collection. Here are some swatches, BTW: http://www.apolishaddict.com/2012/06/opi-germany-collection-swatches_20.html and http://alizarineclaws.blogspot.com/2012/06/opi-germany-quick-look.html.

Hey Another Cristina!
I’m looking forward to seeing them in person. OPI polishes often look waaaay better in person than in promo pictures. đ In swatches I’ve seen online, there are several that look pretty amazing. So excited!
Gosh, I love these names! As for colors my favorites are Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! and Every Month is Oktoberfest. I really want to get Don’t Pretzel My Buttons just so I can say that I do own a polish named Don’t Pretzel My Buttons. If only I didn’t like bad OPI puns…Thanks for sharing this!

Hey Katie!
The names are pretty fun, aren’t they? đ They’re tricky to type, though.
Haha, yeah, Don’t Pretzel My Buttons is the cutest name in the entire collection, I think!
You’re welcome. Glad you enjoyed seeing this press release. I’m always happy to share information about cool, new polishes.
I really like:
Don’t pretzel my buttons – though I’m not a nude polish kind of girl, this one might be my first.
Nein nein nein ok fine – I don’t have anything in that color. I have a soft spot for greys.
Unfor-greta-bly Blue – I love blue so much.
Don’t you want me baby – A nice orangey red seems perfect for A/W.
German-icure by OPI – I’ve never had this color before. I’ve seen swatches and it looks wonderful.
Hey Kindlebot!
Hehe, plus with a name like Don’t Pretzel My Buttons, it’s hard to resist. What a cute name, isn’t it? đ
