Nail Art: Neon Rainbow Dotticure…on a MAN!

Neon Rainbow Dotticure on a MAN Nail Art smallerSince I was pressed for time, I decided that for today’s post, I would share with you something fun.

Just thought the other day that it’s been a while since I’ve posted a manicure on a man.

Since I was wearing my Neon Rainbow Dotticure, I decided to paint my male friend’s nails in a matching design. (Look, we’re twinsies! Haha!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

So here is theย Neon Rainbow Dotticure…on a MAN! Enjoy!

Here are some closer shots:

And here is a comparison of my nails on top of his, just so you can see the size difference. ๐Ÿ˜‰Neon Rainbow Dotticure on a MAN Nail Art

Are there any specific manicures you’d like me to try on one of my male friends? I’ll do my best to convince them to let me paint their nails!

      Hey Melissa!

For sure! I’m already thinking up another design to paint on his nails! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (I think I love painting guys’ nails a little too much.)

Yaknow, there are actually dudes out there with their own nail polish blogs. I even spotted a few rugged lumberjack types, I’m not kidding! I don’t personally follow any, but you might consider showing a couple to some of your male friends to convince them that they can continue to be manly and also have fabulous nails.

Here are some ones I’ve found:

      Hey Fedoraharp!

Yeah, haha, I tried to show some of them nail blogs written by guys, but it never convinced them enough. Too bad, huh? ๐Ÿ˜‰

It really is a pity! ๐Ÿ˜› I run a “geek nail art” booth twice a year at our local sci-fi convention, and I always get a couple of dudes as customers. Sometimes they’re hesitant to have nail art on, but I remind them that one- this is a geek convention, like half of the attendees are in outlandish and wonderful cosplay anyway so something little like nail art won’t seem odd, and two- who doesn’t want the Starfleet Insignia or the TARDIS on their nails??

Haha, that’s pretty hilarious how they were first unsure of nail art when people all around are wearing cosplay outfits! It just shows you how society has drilled it into people’s brains that men “shouldn’t” wear nail polish. Yes, it’s a pity that guys should be limited like that! As much as I love nail polish, it’s JUST nail polish! It doesn’t change a person’s core. And I’m a firm believer that as long as you’re not inflicting pain and suffering on others or yourself, go ahead and be silly. Have a great time, and learn to think outside the box!

Haha, wow, that’s awesome you painted the Starfleet insignia – so detailed! You’re very talented!

      Hey Chiro!

That’s pretty cool that HE asks YOU to paint his nails! ๐Ÿ™‚ Kudos to him! Haha, and isn’t it dangerous that he enables you to buy even more polish? ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Hey Lizzy!

Does Ricky still paint his nails even when you’re not around? Maybe he could send you photos of his nails. That’s always fun to see!

Love it! My man lets me swatch new polish on him as I am impatient and always have something on my nails that I want to stay there, but to do a full mani? IN MY DREAMS!!!!!

      Hey Victoria!

That’s really sweet of him. Does he ever tell you he likes certain shades on him more than others?

P.S. I hope your dreams come true! ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Hey Icequeen81!

I actually liked the way this design looked better on him than on me. It’s probably because his nails are wider and flatter than mine, which shows the design better.

That is awesome! I always thought mani/pedi’s were too girly until I actually one done and now I’m hooked! I even get polish with my pedicure and have had several compliments on it from people. ๐Ÿ™‚

The first color I wore was a bright orange. I think it looked great with my skin tone and had quite a few compliments on it too. Since then, I’ve tried black, dark blue, electric blue, green, a glitter polish, and even hot pink! I think I’ve become a polish addict! ๐Ÿ™‚

Congratulations on starting off with a bright colour! You’re very brave. I think that most guys who experiment start off with clear or even just get their nails buffed. So I’m really impressed with your self-confidence! Good for you! ๐Ÿ™‚

I also like how you’ve explored so much colour territory and didn’t just stick with one group. It’s fun to open up and experiment, isn’t it?

Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I started with clear the first time I had a pedicure and then that got me interested in trying color so I did the next time I went. The ladies at the nail salon were pretty amused lol. It was last summer when I first tried it and I thought the orange really popped with my summer tan. ๐Ÿ™‚

It is….life is too short to be boring. Now I’m looking into some other things like nail art, glitter polishes, matte finishes, etc.

You hit the nail on the head. Life is short, and if you enjoy painting your nails, go for it. It’s harmless and a lot of fun!

Do you think you’ll try nail stamping or water marbling?

I may just do that! I was just doing searching on it the other day and it looks pretty cool. Do you have any recommendations? ๐Ÿ™‚

                  Hey Walt!

For water marbling, Simple Little Pleasures on YouTube does lots of them so well: http://www.youtube.com/user/SimpleLittlePleasues (Note the missing “r” in Pleasures for the URL. That’s the correct URL.)

If you’re interested in nail stamping, I actually have a step-by-step tutorial. I did it when I had just started out as a newbie nail stamper! http://www.swatchandlearn.com/konad-tutorial-how-to-use-the-konad-stamping-kit-to-create-easy-nail-art-plus-konad-stamping-kit-review/

Awesome! I will check those out. On a side note, I had a pedicure done yesterday with my first nail art. I chose a sunset with palm trees and it looks awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, I’ve seen nail art like that, and I’ve always admired it because it’s so relaxing and creative! Maybe one day I’ll try painting it on myself. Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow..he was a good sport to do that. I can honestly say that I don’t know any men who would go for that…at all lol. I love the mani…not so much on a man but it is cute.

      Hey Kellie!

Yes, he’s definitely a good sport. But he didn’t wear it in public. After the photos were taken, the nail art came off. *Boo hoo* Still, he has offered to let me paint his nails again, so I’m trying to think up some interesting designs!

More men should discover that manis and pedis are a relaxing, pampering treat. I doubt my hubs would let me polish but he sure would love the attention of cuticle treatment and massage. mani-pedis are for everyone! that dotticure on holo looks fab as a twinsie mani. great job!

Men should wear nail polish too! We often paint my friends boyfriends nails, but he wipes it off before it dries!!!

I am not that crazy about nail art on a man. I mean it looks nice but I much prefer just nicely groomed natural nails.
