Misa The Grass Is Greener on My Side is one of my first Misa nail polishes, if not the first Misa nail polish that I’ve ever purchased. So it only made sense, nickels, and dimes that I showcased it on the blog finally! (Hehe, I couldn’t resist the ‘cents’ pun.)
Back when I first purchased this lacquer, I was most likely heavily into purples (my first nail love), yet this bright turquoise called my name.
Since then, greens no longer just call me. They scream at the top of Mount Everest, hit gongs by my bedside, and think they’re cute when they bang pots and pans with wooden spoons on Saturday mornings. 😉
Aside from the colour, which I’ll get into later in this post, the name “The Grass Is Greener on My Side” appeals to me because it’s a wonderful reminder that, despite societal farts in our faces telling us that we’re not good enough, we should appreciate what we have.
Those who badmouth others, spread falsehoods behind their backs, and exert energy on negativity make me really sad, and I don’t want to invest in any prime real estate with people who play mental Monopoly. Pass Go, and leave unnecessary negative thoughts in Jail. This isn’t your Park Place.

Misa The Grass Is Greener on My Side Review
Colour
The Grass Is Greener on My Side by Misa is a bright turquoise, but my camera captured it a smidgeon brighter than it looks to the naked human eye. Funny how the lens does that sometimes. (It would be neat to have a bionic eye that could truly capture what we really see!)
It’s vibrant and colourful, so if you tend to wear neutrals, this may not be for you. As for myself, I’m all over it because it’s a bold colour that provides a lot of contrast against my skin tone. Plus I love green and variations of it. For me, this is in my wheelhouse!
Finish
There’s gentle shimmer chilling in this Misa nail polish, and from a distance, it can make it appear almost smooth and pearl-like. It’s almost like the same effect that the sunshine has beaming on a granite rock. You can see elements in the rock twinkling, but it’s not full-on glam. Subtle and pretty!
Application & Formula
The Grass Is Greener on My Side by Misa glides on beautifully and easily. It’s exactly how I remember it years ago when I bought this bottle.
One coat covers nicely, but to get full opacity, you’ll need to use two coats.
No problems with this formula to report. It’s easy peasy to work with!

If you’re looking for a green-based nail polish that adds a playful touch to your nails, Misa The Grass Is Greener on My Side may interest you!
I’m surprised that the formula remained so consistent after all these years! 🙂
Stay tuned – more Misa nail-polish reviews are coming to the blog. I should’ve showcased them a lot sooner, as I have many in my collection.
Is the grass greener on your side? 😉 Do you like nail polishes that have subtle shimmer running throughout, or do you prefer a creme finish? When was the last time you purchased a Misa nail polish?
What a gorgeous color!! (and wow, your nails are LONG)
Oh, and thanks for making me clean my monitor… I actually sprayed tea over it when I read your description on how greens try to catch your attention these days 😉

Hey Joyce!
Yeah, haha, they make noise when I type. (I like that sound, but probably my co-workers find it annoying!) I’ll probably trim them a little in a few days, but the reviews will still show the long nails for a while, since I have photos from a few polishes that I’ve worn recently and want to share.
Not sure why, but I can’t settle on maintaining a certain nail length. I like chopping them and then letting them grow as long as I can stand. Right now, they’re reaching my maximum. (Hehe, I don’t want to compete with that woman with long talons for the World Record! Not sure how she can function with nails that curl. I saw her on TV a long time ago and remembered her saying that it took one bottle of nail polish to paint each nail. WOW!)
Aww, thank you for reading my descriptions! Hehe, those greens are such attention-seekers, aren’t they? 😉
What a gorgeous color! I don’t think I’ve ever seen grass this color, but who cares?! There’s so many nail art possibilities with this one it’s crazy! Thanks for sharing it with us. As always it looks great on you. 🙂
Hey Melissa!
Oh, I wish that grass was this shade of turquoise! Maybe if we lived in cartoon land, it would be! 😉
Gorgeous! <3
