Holy smokes! Milani Hi-Res is the 3rd color I’m trying from the 3D Holographic Collection, and it is by far my absolute favorite. The purple is pretty, the holo effect is gorgeous, and the shine is irresistible.

While the base purple color isn’t a shade that I’m normally attracted to, I’m in love with Milani Hi Res. The rainbow holo works so beautifully with the fairytale purple – it’s just the perfect combo for a dreamy look! Come check out just exactly what I mean.

Milani 3D Holographic Hi-Res Review

The reason why I love Milani 3D Holographic Hi-Res the most so far is because the holo effect is very apparent. In almost any light, I can see the depth of this nail color offering an optical illusion! I get lost in the galaxy of glitters every time I catch a glimpse of my nails.

And with Milani Hi-Res nail lacquer, you can easily see the rainbow that comes from the special Holographic Image Technology. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple – they’re all really there! I tried to capture them all in my swatches, but it’s really hard to photograph holo polishes. I promise you they’re all present.

Milani did a great job choosing the base purple because I think it contrasts beautifully with the glitter colors. The warm red holo effect sparks up the purple, but my favorite is when the light catches the cool blue glitters. You get almost like a blue fire effect. Gorgeous!

As with the other colors in the 3D Holographic collection, application is a dream. So much so that I don’t even apply Milani polishes carefully anymore. I just dip, quickly sweep across the nail and wait for it to dry (which takes only about 10 minutes). It basically levels itself out so you never get hills or lumps on your nails.

The finish is a glossy glass, even without a top coat. But you should wear one on top anyway to protect this beautiful color. Just as others in the collection, Milani Hi-Res 3D Holographic nail polish is super sheer. It’s only after the 2nd coat that I start to see the rainbow glitters and the depth of the purple. So I recommend wearing 3 coats for full effect.

This is one of those colors that’ll have you stopping whatever you’re doing just to stare at your nails. I’ve done it a couple of times! Hi-Res by Milani makes me want to go out and get more holo nail polishes. 😛
