Michael Wekerle from Dragons’ Den

Michael Wekerle Dragons' Den

This isn’t beauty-related like my usual posts are, but I still wanted to share this because it made me so happy!

Who can transform an ordinary TTC subway commute into an extraordinary one? Michael Wekerle!

Friendly, spirited, and always a sharp dresser, Michael Wekerle totally made my day yesterday when I was taking public transit in Toronto!

You may know him from the TV show on CBC called Dragons’ Den. It’s a show that I enjoy watching because it encourages everyone to be creative, think outside the trapezoid, and follow unconventional dreams and ambitions.

Visions can become a reality, if we work hard, are driven by passion, and are humble enough to never stop learning.

Hearing the pitches on the show by entrepreneurs and being entertained by the Dragons inspire me!

THANK YOU SO MUCH, MICHAEL, for putting a huge smile on my face and for calling me “the next Dragonette” when we met! 😀

Sometimes, even the smallest words of encouragement from another is enough to raise a person’s spirit. Let’s continue to pay it forward!

Here are some more poses from our impromptu TTC subway ‘photo shoot’! 😉

      Hey Grace!

Aww, thank you so much! 🙂 Meeting him put a bounce in my step for the rest of the day. I love how he’s so friendly and humble. It’s nice when people in power are still decent, caring, and respectful individuals. It reinforces my faith in humanity.

      Hey Melissa!

Dragons’ Den is the Canadian equivalent of the United States’ Shark Tank. That’s another show that I watch regularly. Love hearing all the pitches!

      Hey Mary!

Oh my gosh! Hehehehe, you are so sweet for saying that. 😉 Being in my 30s, that makes me grin a lot wider than usual! 😀 Thanks for brightening my day!

      Hey Brynn!

It was funny because when Michael and I were talking and taking photos, everyone in the subway was looking at us. Nobody else approached him, so maybe they didn’t recognize him, either (because of his sunglasses or because they didn’t watch the show). But I recognized him immediately based on the way he was dressed, his face, and his voice. Plus I watch Dragons’ Den so much… 😉

Thank you so much! 🙂 He put a huge spring in my step for the rest of the day. It was so awesome to meet someone who inspired me and who is still friendly and humble, despite his success.
