If you follow makeup news, you know all about the frenzy caused by the MAC Venomous Villains Collection – items sold out online not long after they went up!
MAC teamed up with Disney to bring colors influenced by 4 villains: Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), the Evil Queen (Snow White), Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmations), and Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog).
I tried to be good, but when you combine Maleficent, purple, and lip gloss, my will power has no chance. Besides, “it’s for the blog”, right? Heheheh. I picked up the MAC Revenge Is Sweet Lipglass. Oh, the things I do for Swatch And Learn!
Is this color bewitching? Did Maleficent cast a spell on me? There’s only one way to find out!

MAC Revenge Is Sweet Lipglass Review
Maleficent is by far the coolest Disney villain – Ursula comes in second for me. So it should come as no surprise that the Maleficent Collection was my favorite from the MAC Venomous Villains Collection.
The shimmery purple really grabbed my attention. Unfortunately I was under a spell because the reality is that it actually goes on as a pink jelly. While this color is very pretty, is easy to wear anytime, gives your lips a mirror-like shine, and flatters pretty much all skin tones, I felt my excitement drop…just a little.
I was expecting this Sexy Purple Vixen. Instead, I got the Pretty Pink Next Door.
Once again life reminds me that appearances are deceiving. However, I don’t regret buying it. One whiff of MAC’s signature vanilla scent is enough to win me over. It smells like yummy cake batter!
Since my lips are naturally rosy, when I wear the MAC Revenge Is Sweet lip gloss, it doesn’t tint my lips any color – at least nothing visible to the naked eye. But you do get dramatic shine to make your lips appear slightly fuller. No standout shimmer or disco ball here, hot stepper!
The formula itself is that of your typical MAC Lipglass – somewhat sticky although not terribly thick, either. It wears well for a couple of hours if you don’t eat or drink. But as with any lip gloss, you should expect to reapply it throughout the day.

Final Verdict: 8/10
Despite the color being different than what I expected, I still really like the MAC Revenge Is Sweet Lipglass because I can always wear a pink-jelly gloss…and because I’m sometimes a sucker for awesome packaging.
Did you get anything from the MAC Venomous Villains Collection?
What’s the nail polish you are wearing here? Thank you!
Hey alaras!
Although I wrote this post a long time ago, I actually remember the polish I wore here! (Crazy!) It was NARS Zulu, which is a blackened green jelly. On me, though, it looks practically black. I did a review on it back in 2010, if you’re interested: http://www.swatchandlearn.com/nars-zulu-swatches-review
