Efficacy
For me, the most important claim to test for skincare products is efficacy because, unlike with makeup or nail polish, beautiful packaging does little to sway my opinion on how much I like them.
When it comes down to it, how well the skincare works is my main concern. (It won’t matter to me if the box it came in was pretty or colourful. I actually prefer it when skincare packaging is simple and a company spends more money on improving the formulation.)
As with all skincare, I make sure to test it out for weeks before reviewing it because it takes time for your skin to see long-term results and to find out if you have a negative reaction.
I’ve been testing out the Sheer Light Dry Body Oil by Live Clean for several weeks, and now I feel confident that I can give a detailed review based on my experiences.
Even after using it just one time, I noticed that my skin felt smoother and more comfortable, not tight and dry.
Then, with each subsequent time I applied it, my skin continued to improve in terms of the way it looked and felt. (I especially found it to be the most beneficial when I applied it after pat-drying my skin following a shower.)
Finish
I haven’t had too many experiences using dry oils, so it was a wonderful eye-opener testing out this one. (I have tried several regular oils like Argan Oil for my hair, but I never had any dedicated solely to be used on my body.)
Initially, I was concerned that the oil may be sticky, but that wasn’t the case at all, as long as I didn’t over-apply it.
It left a natural sheen on my skin, making it look supple and healthy.
Packaging & Application
The Sheer Light Dry Body Oil by Live Clean comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump. It’s handy because you can control exactly how much you dispense, and you can easily see how much you have left.
On a daily basis, I used one pump of the dry oil. I found this to be sufficient because if you use more, it could leave behind a tacky residue.
After dispensing the product, I rubbed it in the palm of my hands and then applied it where I needed to, which was mainly on my arms. For some reason, when the season changes and the mercury drops, that’s where my skin starts to feel parched.
My suggestion is to use less than you think you need because you can always apply more later to areas that are extra dry, but if you overdo it, you’ll have to wash it off to get rid of the stickiness.
According to the information PR provided me with, the official directions are as follows: “After shower/bath, smooth on for daily moisture. For problem areas, apply twice daily massaging gently in circular motion until fully absorbed.”
Value
A little bit goes a long way, so the bottle will take me quite some time to finish. Considering that it only costs $9.99 CAD, it’s very reasonably priced. I can see it lasting for several months with daily use.

For those who are making conscious shopping decisions, you’ll be very happy knowing that the formula is vegan, and it has never been tested in animals.

I’m a fan of the Live Clean Sheer Light Skin Dry Body Oil because it doesn’t feel heavy, yet it provides a lot of moisture. Plus you only need a little amount to get great results!
