When did Swatch And Learn begin?
July 25, 2010.
How many bottles of polish do you own?
As of April 9, 2014, I have over 1,000 bottles. And that number’s gonna keep on growing! π
What camera do you use?
As of December 9, 2011, I use the Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR Camera. Before that, I used the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W200.
Did you buy the products you reviewed, or were they sent to you for free?
The vast majority of my blog posts feature items generously provided to me by PR or friends and loved ones. However, I do feature items purchased by me.
I always disclose whether or not I bought the items. And when companies do send free products, I don’t let that sway my opinion because I’m dedicated to always providing honest reviews.
Would you be willing to review products sent to you by companies?
Yes, I might be. Anything sent will be considered for an honest review. And when I say honest, I mean it. If I don’t like the product after testing it out, I may choose to write a review letting my readers know!
So if you’re confident that you have a good product and are willing to take that small risk, please e-mail me at SwatchAndLearn@gmail.com for consideration.
Do you blog for a living?
No, I have a full-time job and work on Swatch And Learn in my free time. Blogging is such a fun hobby for me, and I love the freedom it gives me to express myself creatively and to connect with fellow beauty lovers. I’ve learned so much along this journey, and I look forward to learning even more! π
Does Fiona blog anymore?
If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll have noticed that Fiona and I alternated blogging days. She decided not to continue blogging, and her last post was August 7, 2011.
Do you use affiliate links?
Yes. There are a few affiliate links on Swatch And Learn, but the overwhelming majority of links areΒ notΒ affiliate links.
Have a question not listed? Don’t be shy – ask me!
You’re so talented with your nail art, did you ever get any kind of training to become so good? If not, did you have to practice a lot or were you born with this talent?

Hey Kelly!
Oh my gosh! You flatter me so much! *Blush* π
No, I’ve never had any training to do do nails or anything beauty-related. I just like to challenge myself and come up with fun nail designs, and I also like to try recreating some, too. It takes patience more than skill to do nail art, I think…because I’m not an artist, but somehow, I’m able to make nail-art designs look recognizable. I also don’t practice doing the design. I always just paint my nails and hope for the best! That’s really why I believe that anyone can do nail art – you just need patience, the right materials, and a positive attitude. π
Are you still using the same camera?
(Ive been meaning to get a new camera and i an get one to use for nail pictures I ca kill 2 birds with one stone)
Hey Haley!
Yup, ever since getting my Canon Rebel T3i DSLR, I’m still using the same one. π I highly recommend a DSLR. When I made the switch from my point-and-shoot to a DSLR, it made a world of difference when I took shots in dim lighting. Previously, those photos would have a lot of ‘noise’ (i.e. look fuzzy), but with my DSLR, the light has to be reallllllly dim before I get that ‘noise’.
Thanks π
You’re welcome!
