I have a lot of aqua nail polishes, so really, I bought China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle from the Sunsational Collection just for the name.
It makes me think of a smug nail polish with its nose turned up thinking that it’s all that and a bag of chips. And I picture it wearing a J Crew sweater tied around its neck.
Hehe, snobbery aside, Too Yacht to Handle is a wonderfully bright lacquer that really spells summer to me. I can see how this would flatter a lot of different skin tones.

China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle Review
Colour
Too Yacht to Handle by China Glaze is an aqua with nuances of blue and green that complements many skin tones from fair to rich.
Whenever I wear a polish like this, I always dig the contrast it provides. Plus it’s nice and bright, so on a sunny day, your nails really come to life.
I’m not sure if I would categorize this as a neon, though. Sure, it’s bright, but I don’t feel like I need to pull out a pair of Ray Bans and a too-cool-for-school attitude. 😉
Finish
Too Yacht to Handle by China Glaze has a creme finish, which is simple, but very effective. A colour as lively as this one doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles to really stand out. The colour does all the talking!
Application & Formula
After trying China Glaze Neon & On & On from the same collection, I was concerned that China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle would also have a hard-to-work-with formula that was streaky.
However, I was pretty pleased to discover that Too Yacht to Handle went on smoothly and was so creamy. I don’t have anything but praise for this great formula. And you should only need 2 medium coats to completely cover the nail line.

Final Verdict: 9/10
Too Yacht to Handle by China Glaze is a fun polish to wear. Even if it’s not the most original colour, it’s one of those shades that always seems flattering. And it puts me in a good mood because it’s bright and cheerful.
Have you tried any of the Sunsational Collection shades? What’s your favourite aqua polish? Do you think this polish is ‘too yacht to handle’? Hehe!
Love it! 😀 I think Turned Up Turquoise may be a similar color that’s much brighter, but… that’s matte and this is cream so it’s staying on my wishlist. lol

Hey Lizzy!
Haha, I like your polish justification! 😉 And, although I don’t have Turned Up Turquoise, I have the Misa polish that’s supposed to be similar, and it’s amazing!
hehe I love that you imagine your polishes with personality – I do too! My husband thinks I’m crazy (well he may be on to something there…;) )
Hey Norma!
We’re not crazy. Everyone else is crazy, right? Right? *Sweats* 😉 Nailphiles gotta stick together!
Gorgeous color <3
Hey Nina!
Glad you dig it, too! It’s a happy shade – loved wearing it.
I am getting this color as soon as I possibly can. Somehow, this collection completely slipped under my radar — I can’t wait to go to the nail polish store aaahhhhhhh!
Hey Sarah!
Funny how some polishes manage to be discrete and others hit us over the head, right? 😉 I’ve almost tried all of the cremes, and I’m enjoying the bright colours for spring!
I love this color! It reminds me of Zoya Wednesday, which is one of my favorites.
Hey Raina!
Ah yes, Zoya Wednesday! That’s an awesome polish. I remember that the formula on it was perfect!
Wow! This blue is amazing!
Hey Elin!
Glad you like it a lot, too! I love seeing this shade on anyone. It seems to flatter just about everyone!
This colour seems like a dupe to China Glaze Aquadelic? I am trying to convince myself I don’t need this polish…but neons are my weakness for summer!
Hey Miss Intensity Nails!
That’s interesting. I have Aquadelic somewhere. Maybe I’ll need to snap a photo of them together for a quick comparison. From what I remember, they’re pretty close, but I’d have to see them side-by-side to be sure. But, I think you could have one or the other.
Same – neons are my weakness, but all year long! 😉
Would be awesome if you could do a comparison of the two, I would really like to know! My guess is that the two will be identical in colour but Too Yacht To Handle has neon magic sprinkled in 😉 Neons truly shine in the sun, where I live it is gloomy for most of the year (except summer)… so vampy shades it is for fall/winter/spring~
I’ll see what I can do. Need to buy new nail wheels – I ran out! After that, I’ll make a mental note to do this comparison for you.
Awesome! Thanks so much!
I’ll need to buy some nail wheels this weekend so I can do the comparison. 🙂
Oooh this is a gorgeous shade! Lovin it.

Hey Olivia!
Especially during this time of year, this shade is perfect! I feel like it looks so clean and happy on anyone.
I follow your blog, and I love reading your reviews. I hope you can help me with this color. I own it CL Too Yacht To Handle, and it chips really fast, like in 2 days, which is not typical for me. I am looking for a replacement, but I have not been able to locate any dupes. I see Barry M Greenberry seems to be a dupe, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere physically or online (I’m in California). Can you suggest any viable dupes for this CL polish? I am forever grateful!
